View Full Details of Holbrook HallMy husband spent nearly three months at Holbrook Hall where he was always treated with great kindness, thoughtful care and close attention before his death in late December. He became very fond of many of the staff. I couldn't have hoped for more.
Holbrook Hall is a very friendly, caring place. When I arrived on Christmas Eve, in spite of the carers having their own Christmas plans they were all very friendly and helpful and I felt looked after immediately. Since then I have got to know many of the carers by name and they take their jobs very seriously and are very well trained. I was pleasantly surprised by the freedom of choice regarding the food, I could have anything I wanted for breakfast. Lunchtime there is plenty of variety, well cooked and large portions if you so wish. For tea, there's soup and sandwiches and other choices too. Throughout the day the coffee and tea trolley comes around regularly. A cuppa in bed when waking is very much appreciated, so this was much better than living on my own and having to do everything for myself. The lady who runs the activities is very enthusiastic and full of ideas to keep us happily occupied. There's a large range of books to read and games to play that you can access at anytime.
I returned home last night after a couple of days visiting Dad in Holbrook Hall, and wish to record how amazing the care home is. Dad has lived there since July last year, and he is content and at peace, grateful for the care and attention of the staff, the plentiful and varied food, and also the beautiful setting. When I visit he loves sitting in the conservatory looking out across the valley. The home is situated in beautiful grounds, and there were plenty of opportunities last summer for residents to enjoy sitting and walking in the gardens, and picnics too. I am very grateful to all the staff for their loving care and attentiveness, going the extra mile, and always with a smile and cheerful disposition. The number and variety of activities that are laid on each day is amazing, the desire of the activities assistant being to make the lives of the residents as full and happy as is possible. There is a lovely family feel to the home, and I thoroughly recommend it.
Having visited my Uncle for the first time over Christmas, I was thrilled to see how happy he was. He has developed some great friendships amongst the residents and staff. The staff really get my Uncle and his quirky personality, it's lovely to see that he's totally himself. We were offered a drink which was served with a plate of biscuits. His room was great and very personal to him, with his pictures hung on the walls. The home and staff were really above and beyond anything I'd expected. I left the visit feeling very happy and thankful to all who make Holbrook Hall a great place to live.
Mum has been at Holbrook Hall since May 2024 and is very happy there. The facilities and environment at the home are very good, a range of menu options through the week, nice communal spaces where residents can relax and a lovely garden area. A lot of effort goes into organising a range of activities for residents throughout each week, including entertainment, hobbies and trips out. Mum has made lots of new friends and really enjoys the daily social interactions with other residents and the carers. The staff and carers themselves are exceptional, working hard to make sure the residents are well looked after and dealing with individual requirements and requests. Knowing Mum is in a caring environment and is being well looked after is very comforting. We are very happy that Mum has settled into Holbrook so well and enjoy visiting and spending time with her in such a nice environment.
Mum is so very happy at the home. She is very well cared for. The food is great, she often comments on its quality. The entertainment is very well organised and brilliant at keeping all the residents well stimulated. Thank you to all of the Holbrook Hall staff. It really is very much appreciated.
My mother has been at Holbrook Hall for almost 3 years. She feels safe, happy and cared for. She has dementia but all the staff ensure she has what she needs. She can be difficult but they are patient and kind to her. I feel comfortable knowing she is in the best place for her at this stage in her life.
As a family we really appreciate everything Holbrook Hall Care Home provides for our father. It's great seeing him so happy and settled. A couple of years ago, as a family we were in a very different place having just lost my mum. We had been through a really difficult time. The staff at Holbrook Hall Care Home could not have done more to help my dad settle in when he joined them 18 months ago. He has made a lot of friends, goes on plenty of trips and enjoys all the varied activities that are organised for the residents. He has his independence and is able to walk around the beautiful grounds, and the trips have been great. He's visited a local friendship group, the pub and the seaside to name a few. The staff work really hard to achieve all this, special mention to the member of staff who organises the activities, and to catering who even bake cakes for each resident to celebrate birthdays. For the first time in years we are able to relax knowing that dad is happy and safe.
My mother-in-law comments on how lovely the staff are to her, how delicious the food is and she really loves the room she has. We are all so impressed with the quality of care she receives and all the activities that go on within the care home. I've noticed how tired my mother-in-law is because she has been doing so many more things than she was used to in her own home and that has improved her mobility and her alertness. I was very impressed that in the first week she was taken out in the minibus to a community Centre which she told us all about. It is lovely to see what she has been doing on Facebook. I really appreciate the list of what activities there are to do each day which are varied and in some instances unusual!. My husband turned up with a friend to the cake and a cuppa event which they really enjoyed, it's a lovely way to involve everyone with some residents even making the cakes. A very caring care home.
Holbrook Hall administration and staff care for ALL the residents. They are quick to respond to emails and phone calls. The staff work incredibly hard to make sure care plans are followed and the needs of the residents are met and supported. The activities coordinator makes it her mission to include all residents. She designs seasonal activities including music, outings, exercise, gardening, baking and guest speakers to enhance the daily living of residents. Facebook posts keep families informed. Monthly meetings provide residents input into their home. Meeting minutes are provided promptly to families. Holbrook Hall has undergone sympathetic refurbishment and cleanliness is a priority at the home. My mum is settled and happy at Holbrook Hall which gives our family such a sense of relief. The administration team are responsive and very approachable. Holbrook Hall is such a lovely place to live your life, make new friends, participate in activities and enjoy the magnificent views.
My mum was at Holbrook Hall for just over 3 years until her passing in December. My mum was very happy there, felt safe and secure with all her needs taken care of. To the carers and other staff, I have deep appreciation for the attentive and loving care shown to my mum at all times, especially in her final days. I would highly recommend this home.
Lovely friendly home, where the residents seem to experience a wonderful lifestyle. The house was very clean and the grounds were wonderful even in the Autumn. The staff interacted extremely well with both residents and visitors.
All of the staff do their best and more to take care of all residents and make time for one to ones where needed. They provide activities, outings, exercise, hair and nails when wanted. I looked at all of the care homes and found Holbrook Hall to be really homely and set in lovely grounds. They have also supported myself when trying to deal with my Mom's affairs. A big thank you to everyone.
Outstanding without a doubt! Staff have always been friendly, supportive and helpful. The home gives a sense of caring and friendship that is welcomed. It's also worth applauding the homes general management for ensuring the building had been maintained in an attractive and appropriate way.
I visited Holbrook Hall Care home a few times in December 2024 and saw how well the residents were cared for. The activities that are put on for them are fantastic and it was nice to see the residents joining in. The quality of the food they are served is also excellent. Every member of staff that I saw was very welcoming and spoke lovely to all the residents. The residents that I spoke to all said what a lovely place it is and complimented many of the members of staff. It's a truly wonderful care home in a beautiful countryside setting.
The staff were so kind and very caring. It was so nice to see how happy my Mum is at the Care Home. It's great that each day is filled with activities to suit all the residents. It was a joy to visit my Mum in such a lovely Home surrounded by such lovely caring staff. Our young children also enjoyed it, it was especially nice for them to enjoy some fresh air in the garden with their Grandma and to play some board games back inside. It was a very enjoyable visit for us all!
We are so happy to see Mum looking so well and happy! She is actually thriving! She is well fed with good ongoing activities which has boosted her mental state. It is so reassuring to know that Mum is being so well cared for and that she is safe and happy. She has some good friends in Holbrook which is such a bonus. Thank you Holbrook for all the love you have shown towards Mum.
I regularly visit the home and see how happy the residents are in the beautiful environment at Holbrook Hall. The staff go above and beyond to help and care for the residents. It is a lovely environment and always very welcoming. The residents are kept busy with entertainment programs and social events. Everyone is looked after whatever their individual needs are. The staff work extremely hard to keep the residents happy.
From the moment I called Holbrook Hall and had a look around, in 2015, I knew it was going to be the right place for my brother. He had complex needs but that didn't bother the staff, they embraced him and were very patient with him. I found the Hall well kept, no smells, clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and caring, they encouraged him to join in with the activities, and I thank my lucky stars my brother was very happy there, until his passing in May 2024. I wish to thank all past and present staff for their care and understanding. I would have no qualms about recommending Holbrook Hall. Thank you.
The staff at Holbrook are lovely and the setting and facilities are very much a home-from-home. They make a really big effort to lay out lots of varied activities and include the families and friends of the residents.
