My Husbands Uncle was a resident in Richmond Care Home for ar least two years until he passed away at the grand old age of 105 in September 2024. He was always very complimentary about the staff and the care he received which was second to none. When my wife and I visited we were always greeted with warmth from all the staff, the home has a lovely welcoming atmosphere. The manager was brilliant and always put our minds at rest when we phoned from our home in Devon to enquire how Uncle was. We have nothing but good to say about this home and would highly recommend it to anyone who has elderly family members in need of care.
My Auntie has been a resident here at Richmond since last April, she sadly suffers with Alziemhers so finding the right place for her was crucial to her receiving the appropriate care, Richmond is the best !! The team are absolutely amazing, they go above and beyond always engaging and caring for all the residents. There's lots of stimulating activities provided and everyone is encouraged to join in the fun. They have a FB page where photos of events and entertainment are posted on a weekly basis so we can all see how our family members are spending their time. My Auntie's quality of life has improved 10 fold since moving here. The peace of mind that we have now knowing that she's being cared for and is safe is such a huge weight lifted. Kate the manager of the home goes the extra mile for everyone and is very approachable if you have any concerns or queries, she's got a great team of fantastic carers, all friendly and very experienced in providing the best care for the residents.
My mum has been in Richmond Care home for 7 years. Her everyday needs have changed throughout this time and Richmond staff have been able to meet them, so that she is always happy and well cared for. It is very reassuring to know and witness that ALL staff give a 100% . There is a wide range of activities which family members are very welcome to join. They have family days where residents and staff families enjoy their time together. It all makes you feel as if you are one big extended family. On fancy dress days staff joined in and made sure the residents had fun happy days. Families are always welcome to have a theme buffet which really pleases my mum. The owner of Richmond, Management and all staff are always there to support with any worries or concerns.
This home is very suitable for anyone who is very able. Please dig deep into policy and practice if you decide this is a suitable placement. Trust your gut if you see anything that raises concerns. Report it to the home and then take it higher e.g. Safeguarding and CQC. Some lovely staff members who won't realise what is taking place here.
Speaking on behalf of my Mother, I found the home to be just what was required for her. The staff were all friendly, caring, and compassionate. The standard of care was excellent. The food that I saw was portioned well and of good standard. The room quality was of a good standard and well kept and very clean. All in all very happy with the overall package.
I cannot think of a bad thing to say about this care home, the staff are all angels, caring, friendly, and hardworking. The attention to detail and care is 100%. The home is clean and homely. I cannot think of a better place to send your loved ones.
Words can't describe how thankful myself and my family are for each and every one that works at Richmond. Such a wonderful place, the care and compassion we have been shown have been superior. Seeing how our Nana and other residents are cared for is truly heartwarming. It's not just a care home, it's a home and these people genuinely care about each and every one of their residents, they go above and beyond for everyone who walks through their doors. Though we are now mourning, thanks to Richmond staff the hardest time of our lives now has treasured memories. Thank you to you all, you have a warm place in our hearts forever.
What a lovely place. My auntie stayed here for a month from the beginning of July. Staff are always busy caring for residents. Residents are always doing something, i.e., knitting, making pompoms, celebrating birthdays, they even had a wedding as one resident got married, they regularly take them out for coffee and cake. Hairdressers and chiropodists come regularly. You are free to visit when you want. The place is clean and tidy. When I visited, I could go and sit in the garden with my aunt and have coffee.
Whenever we visit, she is very happy and the carers are always friendly. We know she is being looked after. She has a lovely bedroom. It is beautiful and everywhere is very clean.
Mum had previously been to the Richmond for respite care several times in the last two years because of her dementia. In March this year I needed cancer surgery and follow up treatment, so she went in for longer and this has now become permanent due to her deteriorating health. We have always been very happy for Mum to stay there and all the staff are so dedicated (often under trying circumstances) and welcoming, which has been a huge weight off our minds, especially at this difficult time. Mum was finding it difficult to settle in, with being in longer this time, but the staff have been brilliant with her and very supportive with me too, which has been greatly appreciated. The activities they provide are really varied and it is lovely to see all the social media photos of the residents enjoying themselves so much, it is the happiest we have seen Mum in years!
Richmond Care Home is a 'home from home' and looks after the residents with dignity, love and compassion.
I find Richmond to be a friendly caring environment for my parents to reside in.
My dad was a resident of the Richmond Residential Care Home for just under 6 months, following his illness, a fall and onset of dementia. During his time there, I found the care home to be very good, his room was very nice and the staff I dealt with were very friendly and the meals provided and the facilities I thought were very good. I only wish my dad had been less ill and able to appreciate more the facilities on hand.
Staff do very well in trying circumstances. They were very prompt in updating us with any developments and were very knowledgeable in obtaining services, better than the doctors and social services. Some of the staff were observed to go above and beyond with their personal level of care and genuinely became attached to the patients. Dad was too ill to properly enjoy all the facilities, but I personally enjoyed the garden as did residents who used it.
I find Richmond care home to be excellent. The staff go above and beyond to help the residents feel they are loved and cared for. The staff always give 100% looking after residents' health and well-being and the activities and entertainment they think up for them is brilliant. I would certainly recommend it to anyone needing to go in a care home.
Very welcoming, clean, always plenty of things happening. Staff and management are so kind. nothing is too much for them.
I can't thank the team enough for the care they provide for my dad. We had tried to keep dad at home as we did not think he would settle in a care home but he loves it at Richmond and settled in quickly. The staff are friendly, with lots of activities and a lovely secure garden which is dads favourite place to be. The Manager is great at keeping me updated with anything I need to know and I can settle knowing he's in great hands. Highly recommend Richmond to anyone
