View Full Details of Longmoor Lodge Care HomeMy dad has been a resident at Longmoor Lodge Care Home for over 2 years. We are very happy with the service he has. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. The manager is very friendly and approachable. Longmoor feels like home to me and my family which is a good vibe for my dad. I feel that when I walk away and go home I know my dad is very well looked after.
My father has been living at Longmoor Lodge for the past few years. He is well cared for and his daily care needs are well met. He is not a "joiner" and prefers to be left alone to read and watch TV. He finds the staff very friendly and polite and some of the staff take an interest in his life and achievements and will have a chat with him which he enjoys. The manager has been very helpful in keeping my dad in touch with his family who live in another country and she is always on hand to answer my emails and queries.
My dad has been going to Longmoor Lodge for 2 and a half years for respite and now has been a permanent resident for 5 months. As most people who go into a residential home want to go home as they are away from their home and family. My dad said if he can't be at home there is nowhere else he would rather be. The food is lovely and freshly made, the place is clean and lovely decorated and the staff, well what can I say, they are amazing! So caring and friendly and that's not only to my dad but to us all as a family. We take our dog and all the residents and staff love her! This was a very hard decision for my mum and the rest of the family but we are very happy that he is being well cared for and safe.
All the staff are amazing. The home could do with being decorated with some bright colour and the bedrooms need some care as they are a bit dull. When the lady who does the entertainment is in she is brilliant but when she is off they don't do anything other than sit around going to sleep. I think something needs to happen when she is off.
My experience has been very nice visiting my sister considering the problem she has, the carers are all very nice and caring towards the residents.
I found the staff extremely caring and supportive. My mother often complimented various members of staff for their help and kindness. Whilst some of the facilities required updating or replacing e.g. washbasin taps and carpets, the facilities provided were more than adequate. The care given to my mum by both the day and night staff during her final days was faultless. The overall care provided to my mum was very good.
The staff is always pleasant and informative with the condition of the resident on every visit. The care of the residents was always foremost with all the staff.
Mum entered Longmoor Lodge feeling angry and abandoned. The dedicated staff loved her, fed her, they spoke in a very gentle way and encouraged conversation and making new memories. Longmoor Lodge became her "happy place" and gave her back the big family she once had. Thank you to the manager and your wonderful staff, you gave her dignity, and self-worth and made every day worth living for. Thank you for the warm and friendly interaction with the family and the big hugs when the tears flowed. We are truly grateful.
My mother went into Longmoor Lodge Care Home in December 2019 after a short stay in hospital. From the onset, she was made to feel welcome, just like one big family. Apart from Covid, we have been able to visit at any time with no appointment needed. All staff have the caring ability that is needed in this profession, not just to residents but their families. My mother was prone to falls and had Covid twice, I was informed at all times of any medical care needed. Unfortunately, after another short stay in hospital, she went back to the Lodge for palliative care. The staff were exceptionally caring to her and myself and I was welcome to stay as long and as often as I needed to. All the care she received was documented and available for me to read. I can not praise this care home high enough. They are always pleasant and attentive to all residents and try to make them feel relaxed and settled.
My father was referred to Longmoor Lodge Care Home in an assessment bed after being discharged from Hospital. He spent nearly 10 weeks at Longmoor Lodge and the staff welcomed him from day one. Every member of staff went out of their way to look after him during his stay and to keep me informed and welcome me on my frequent visits. He had his 100th Birthday during his stay and the staff made that a very special day for him with an afternoon tea for all residents, a lovely birthday cake, banners and presents from the Lodge and residents. This was especially touching, as he hadn't been a resident for long at that point. We were very satisfied with the level of care Dad received. Thank you.
My mother became a resident at Longmoor Lodge in January 2022 following a short spell in hospital and has settled in and become quite content there after some initial doubt. The staff have all been very supportive and a great comfort to me and my mum after what has been a very unsettling time. I was especially pleased at how quickly they all came to know Mum and also me every time I called or visited. It was really nice to always get to speak to someone when necessary and also that they knew how Mum was without having to go and consult with someone else. The staff are always very caring and attentive to Mum and this gives us great peace of mind knowing Mum is being cared for.
The most amazing place... I can sleep at night knowing my dad is safe and cared for. He isn't just a number... A bloke in room whatever. He's a person to the staff... A person who is loved and deeply cared for. Its his extended family. The staff work so hard but they never fail to drop in and talk to him... Anticipate his needs... Go the extra mile to accommodate him. Its our second home and we are truly grateful for the care he receives as well as the care and support we receive too. Its a lovely cheerful place... I'm very happy.
Not only did they look after mom in her last few weeks retaining her dignity, but they also looked after me and my sister too. The staff really care about the residents and that made a huge difference to us knowing she was being cared for when we were not there. They all work so hard every shift.
Very pleased with how the resident I was visiting was feeling and what was said regarding care and making the resident feel comfortable and doesn't want to be anywhere else! The family feel relieved to know this, as have concerns of resident coping on their own ability, and are overall really pleased with the care bring received and a weight off their shoulders.
Friendly and professional care.
Fantastic first class service. Cannot thank the staff enough. My father loved it there and the attention he received. Would imagine he'll be greatly missed. Very welcoming all the time. Greeted with a lovely smile and treated the same. Cannot recommend this care home enough. Thank you so very much. Love to you all.
My mother has spent a short time in Longmoor Lodge whilst her bathroom was converted to a wet room/walk-in shower. She had never been in a care home before so she was very nervous. She is 91 years of age with early memory loss and doubly incontinent. She uses a zimmer frame to get around. The staff were very friendly and made her feel welcome, trying to make her integrate with some of the other residents, of which she did. She had a lovely bedroom with ensuite toilet/basin. The rooms, dining/lounge leisure room and bedrooms were clean and little odours throughout. A good home.
My uncle was well cared for by excellent care staff. With good food and a welcoming feeling of home to home.
There general standard of cleanliness is good. I find the carers very good. They look after the residents with care and respect.
The review for my mother was very informative regarding her care and needs. The staff are polite, friendly and very good in their positions. They act promptly with any concerns and keep us very well updated.
