View Full Details of Mount Pleasant Care HomeAll management and staff at the care home are very polite friendly and professional. I can visit my father whenever I want but I avoid mealtimes as I want my dad to socialise with his friends. My dad always looks very clean and cared for and I know by looking at him his clothes are washed and clean. The residents have a constant supply of drink and snacks and their meals always look very healthy and well-balanced. I'm extremely happy with the care my dad receives from the home.
Outstanding care home who go above and beyond for our grandad. Nothing is to much and they are just FANTASTIC. Grandad always looks so presentable, clean, happy and well fed. Always a carer on hand to help if he needs to sit down. Brilliant all round.
All of the staff are very pleasant, use the person's name at all times. The staff try to engage with the person to either chat or join in activities. Rooms are clean and tidy. We were able to personalise the room with pictures which made it more homely. When my husband fell ill there were full notes explaining all actions taken, including offering food and/or drinks and whether they were accepted.
My auntie is in the home and loves living at Mount. Pleasant. The staff, food, activities and everything is first-class.
My mom moved into Mount Pleasant approximately 6 weeks ago and from the start the staff have been polite and helpful to mom. She has vascular dementia and a rare illness that affects her mobility, spacial awareness and her ability to hold items steadily. She’s still going through a period of settling in but the manager is working with us to find out how she can help. I love that the home has daily activities, a fabulous activities programme and the residents are actively encouraged to participate. I am comforted by the fact that the manager actively asks me regularly if I have any concerns. That openness is great. Where there have been concerns, as there is with anyone moving to a new environment, they have been addressed and dealt with.
Well on arrival I didn't know what to expect, shocked was my first thought and going into the resident's room my jaw dropped to the floor. It was extremely dirty. I walked into the en-suite and thought oh my days. I proceeded to clean it myself, the person I was visiting was just lying on the bed, and her sandwiches which obviously was her tea were just left on the side. As this resident in my eyes should be assisted fed was just left to her own devices. Her personal hygiene was very poor and was in desperate need of a bath, the wooden flooring was absolutely filthy. Her bed was so old and as I sat on it was very uncomfortable. I have grave concerns over the care of this individual who is a paying relative. My rating would be 0 if that choice was available.
Mount Pleasant Care Home gives an excellent standard of care. Staff are always on hand to help and are always friendly. The care of residents is excellent. All individual needs of residents are met. Nothing is too much trouble.
My overall opinion of MPCH is very good, the staff are wonderful and very helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. Everybody is very polite and professional, my only concerns are as follows: 1) I would like to see my mum in a more comfortable chair instead of being in a wheelchair when I visit - she won't say that she is uncomfortable but I know she is. 2) My mum would love to have her hair done more often. 3) There is always an alarm sounding - why can't it be silenced more often?
Moved Mum into the home in October and she settled within two weeks, mainly I think due to the very friendly atmosphere in the home. Encouragement to join in and chatter with people was a huge part of this and currently, I am delighted with the place.
I find the staff very pleasant and I find that nothing is too much trouble! The food is catered for my needs and my clothes are washed and put away for me. My room is outstanding and even the TV is fixed as soon as you say and that can be said for most things. Very good reception on arrival.
My mum's been in the care home for a few weeks, she settled in straight away. The staff are amazing with her. We are really happy they put themselves out. They do lots of activities which are really good. The care home is enjoyable to visit at any time.
I have my dear friend in this home since November 2022. The carers as well as the manager are very kind and caring. They look after my friend very well and respond to any emergency if it comes. The food is very good and they take the residents for outings.
My mother in law has Vascular dementia and Moderate Alzheimer’s and has been struggling at home especially at night becoming agitated and upset thinking people are breaking in. The care company were not providing her with the care she needed. My husband and I were very worried and quite stressed with the situation. The manager of Mount Pleasant Care Home was absolutely amazing and supported her and us before and during her first week's respite in February, which enabled my husband and I to go on holiday. She was so warmly welcomed and she absolutely loved her time in the home. It was wonderful to see her laughing and socialising she actually got her sparkle back, amazing. When she returned home she really struggled and over the following two weeks, she became more agitated and upset resulting in several calls to social care, the police and ambulance service. She is now living full time at Mount Pleasant where she is happy and safe. Thanks so much to the manager and her amazing team.
Dad is well cared for and fed well. The staff are always cheerful, helpful and friendly. Dad is settling in well and is encouraged to participate in activities. Dad is allowed to chill and take his time getting up and dressed, help is available but independence is encouraged, no rigid routines, so more homely. As his daughter, I am always treated with respect and friendliness by all staff.
After several years of border closures, I was able to visit my mother at Mount Pleasant - the staff greeted me so warmly and made sure I was fully prepared for our reunion as her dementia has progressed. Mum's room is homely and airy with special considerations given for her continuing comfort and well-being as an elderly and frail lady - all the staff were so kind and respectful towards her and made sure all her needs were met - she looked so clean comfortable and peaceful - the dedicated carers always ensured she was well nourished engaged her in conversation and treated her with dignity. Everyone works so well as a team together to bring love light and laughter to the residents. Special mentions to the activities coordinator for well-devised and individualised sensory care and the manager who runs Mount Pleasant efficiently across all the aspects of health care - she went out of her way to make sure my time with Mum was effortless and easy to arrange - thank you!
My dad has been in the home for several months now and the care that he has received has been second to none. The home is so professional and have supported the family from day one. When Dad arrived at the home, he was unable to walk and through support and dedication, he is now walking again. Cannot thank the home enough. Dad is very happy and settled. Many thanks.
Lovely food and staff who take me fishing and to the sump. I like to go out with activities and enjoy the entertainers when they come in to the home. I would like a minibus so I can go on more trips out.
Care in a care home has been so difficult in recent years, but Mount Pleasant have put residents first throughout, acting professionally but most importantly with care and great kindness. We are confident that they know Mum and look after her well and do their best to keep her safe and well.
I cannot speak highly enough of the care, kindness and generosity shown to my mum who is a resident. She suffers from dementia and is treated with respect and patience. The home is well run. The staff are dedicated and professional. Special mention for the activities lady who puts so much time and effort into the activities in the home.
My mum is well looked after by good carers. Mum's very happy.
