View Full Details of Overseal Residential HomeWe desperately needed to get my mum into a care facility from hospital as she was unable to walk and required good care. We were made extremely welcome by the manager and staff and they proceeded to give Mum second to none treatment and care. They were always happy and nothing was too much trouble. Mum also really rated the food. I would not hesitate in recommending this facility.
My wife was resident at Overseal Care Home for approximately 6 months and as I had cared for my wife privately on the advice of social services who noticed that this was beginning to affect my health recommended that they would arrange for us to both move into a double room at Overseal Care Home which we did. During our stay, I was able to observe the very high-quality of care that was given to the residents by the professional carers who were very perceptive to the needs of the residents including the administering of the correct medication. The cleanliness of the home is of the highest standard and the food superb. The care home is very deserving of the 5-stars.
I had to put my mum into care in June this year 2023. The day we arrived we were met by the manager and the team with a warm friendly welcome which made me feel at ease. They were all chatting with my mum and I could see my mum was content and happy instantly. The staff are so friendly and always happy, nothing is too much trouble and everyone is treated with the upmost dignity. The Care home is so homely, warm and welcoming, the food is all home cooked and delicious, the chef is amazing, catering for everyone's tastes and needs. My dad visits Mum every day and he's made to feel so welcome, he is looked after as well as the residents. The care home deserves the highest recognition for all their efforts.
After a short period of respite, Mum and Dad were fortunate enough to be able to stay together here. Their needs are very different and nothing has been too much trouble for the staff in helping them settle into their own room and ensuring they are comfortable getting used to mixing with the other residents. The staff quickly picked up on issues that were missed by carers who'd been looking after Mum at home and they've been very patient with our very long list of queries during the early days and weeks. My 11-year-old daughter felt very comfortable visiting which I think says a lot about the home and the caring atmosphere they create, or it might have been the chocolate she was offered. It's such a relief knowing Mum and Dad are in safe, caring hands and we're enjoying the time we can spend with them at the care home. The improvement in them both in such a short period of time there is really remarkable.
Mum likes it here. They do different activities with them and celebrate every occasion with them. Sometimes feel like it could do with more staff on to deal with everyone. I think she’s cared for, and they listen to her needs.
The care is second to none. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff and they are all so lovely and have been amazing with my mom, understanding her needs and responding to her with respect. Management have gone out of their way to make Mom and Dad comfortable and welcome. We can call at any time to visit which fills me with confidence that there is nothing to hide. The home is a happy home and you can feel a good atmosphere when you walk in. The residents in the lounge love a good laugh and good old sing-song. It’s a great place.
My grandma has been a resident for just over 18 months. Although she was very unwell on admission, the care home has gone above and beyond with her care! I visit weekly with my daughter (6 months) and the staff is so welcoming every time we visit. They really have taken the time to know my grandma and it is a lovely atmosphere. It’s always nice to visit and never feel guilty leaving as you know she is so well looked after by all the staff. They really make an effort at Easter/Halloween/Christmas which is great to see! Could not recommend this care home or the staff any higher!
The facilities are excellent, and the staff are so kind, friendly and welcoming. My mum is looked after and cared for, and her overall health and well-being have improved. She is treated with respect and dignity. She is looked after in a lovely community - it is a lovely atmosphere, and when I visit, all the residents I meet are happy, and there is a real family community and friendship atmosphere. The staff work tirelessly to ensure the residents’ health and mental well-being are paramount in the care that is given.
Mum has been a resident at Overseal Care Home for just over eighteen months. She has received excellent care and has settled in there far better than we ever expected she would. The staff are so friendly and supportive and above all very caring. I would recommend this care home to anyone - it is so important to feel your loved ones are safe and in professional hands.
Mum has been a resident for just over 18 months. She was very poorly on admission, but with the care and support of the staff, has gone from strength to strength. It was a difficult decision for Mum to go into care, and we looked at several homes, but the staff at Overseal and the overall atmosphere made it an easy choice. Overseal has a very homely feel, and Mum is looked after very well. We always feel welcome when visiting, and the manager and her staff keep us up to date. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this fabulous team.
When I could no longer look after Mum at home, I was absolutely devastated to have to put her into residential care. I looked around quite a few homes but couldn’t bear the thought of leaving her in any of them until I visited Overseal Residential Care Home. It is a relatively small home, but that means better care, in my opinion. They welcomed her into the home, and it is such a friendly and caring environment. If there is the slightest problem, they get a doctor to check her out, and I’m reassured that she is safe there. They do lots of activities with the residents (my mum now has her nails painted for the first time ever!). They go over and above decorating the place for every occasion and making special times for the residents. I’m looking forward to seeing all their Christmas decorations! It has a homely feel, and I’m happy with my choice of care for Mum. Thank you to all the very hardworking, lovely staff.
My mum has been at Overseal Residential Home for 10 months now and I can not speak highly enough of the staff. They are very caring and helpful and they cannot do enough for the residents. I was a bit concerned about how Mum would settle in but she has made friends and is very happy there. I looked at other homes but this one is so relaxed when you walk in, it’s just like being in their own home. I would recommend it to anyone.
When my father's illness started to get worse we had no choice but to put him into Overseal Residential Care Home. Due to covid regulations, he had to stay in his room for 2 weeks upon arrival. When we were able to visit, we especially noticed the attentive and excellent care he had been receiving from the very beginning and how the manager and her team cared for each resident as though they were part of a family. This was very reassuring for us to know how well he was being looked after. When you put a member of your family into Overseal Residential Care Home, you can be sure that they will be treated as extended family. We cannot thank the manager and her team enough for how they helped my father from the very beginning all the way to the end. Thank you all.
We cannot express enough gratitude to the management and the team at Overseal Residential Home for their unwavering care and consideration towards our parents. Their professionalism and compassion provided our family with peace of mind knowing that our loved ones were in good hands. Additionally, the team's care and respect towards our mum after our father passed away was truly remarkable. The team's willingness to make her transition to a new room and the related changes as easy as possible demonstrates their commitment to providing personalised and compassionate care. Our family will forever be thankful to the management and the staff at Overseal Care Home for their exceptional care.
My Brother-in-law has been in residence at Overseal Care Home since April 2022, he suffers from Vascular Dementia. The home is very well run and he seems to want for nothing. All the staff are very caring and attentive and nothing seems too much trouble for them. My brother-in-law has recently been in hospital for a few days and when he arrived back at the Care Home and saw all the staff a big smile appeared on his face, I think that says it all. A big thanks to all of you, keep up the great work.
My father was a resident at Overseal Residential Home from June 2022 to January 2023. Sadly, he has passed away. I can't praise the staff enough for how they looked after him in his last few weeks of life. I was given the option to take Dad to the hospital or have him nursed with district nurses and doctors remaining in the home. I chose the latter and they did Dad and my family proudly. The care of absolutely everyone from cooks, handyman, to countless lovely loving care staff and managers all, helped make the most awful days happy ones to remember. They gave my dad dignity when it was needed. The staff have a wonderful rapport with doctors and district nurses and all worked together to help keep my dad as comfortable as possible. I will always speak highly of them and can't thank them enough. Nursing/residential homes have a bad image. Yes, the building is tired but it's the care inside that matters. This home was the right choice for us at the right time. Thank you all.
My dad needed 24-hour care and went into Overseal in December 2020. He was suffering from dementia which worsened over time and claimed him, surrounded by family on 19th September 2022. The manager leads her team by example. Dignified, respectful, kind and always with Dad's needs first and foremost. He could not have received better love and care and really saw it as his home. The patience and love needed when caring for someone with dementia are considerably more complex and the manager refused to bow to outside agencies that Dad would be better off moving elsewhere. She fought for him to stay where he felt at home and knew where he was and the staff. I will be eternally grateful to her for her foresight and fortitude. Yes, some of the rooms could do with a lick of paint, but I would rather know the care was exemplary and see past the decor than have a beautiful room but no real sense of care. Please, if you are reading this deciding on a home for a loved one, don't look elsewhere, call the manager. She is amazing.
My mum was resident in Overseal Residential Care Home from April 2021 until her death in hospital at Christmas 2021. Firstly, as mum became unwell staff acted in a professional and timely manner to access the care and support that she needed. Communication with myself was second to none. I’m comforted knowing that my mum died having felt loved and cared for by the staff at Overseal. They were always amazing to me too. I couldn’t fault this home and would highly recommend.
My mother was a resident at Overseal Residential Care Home for the last 18 months of her life, sadly passing away this week. She was quite happy to move into the home and easily took to the staff and facilities. Also, importantly, I and my family were happy too. The staff at the Home have always been very efficient in their care duties and willing to go the extra mile to make residents happy and contented. There are regular events and parties for birthdays and anniversaries, and to celebrate such things as VE day which many of the residents would have been involved with the day of the event. Since early July, mum's health has deteriorated slowly and we were advised by the manager to visit as frequently as we could. We were always allowed to visit following a lateral flow test and wearing PPE. We were also in touch by telephone with regular updates as to mum's condition. Finally, Mum passed away in her sleep on 22nd and was afforded every dignity at the time. I thank you all.
My father had been a resident since December 2020 until he sadly passed away in June 2021. As a family, we cannot fault the level of professional care and support given by all the staff. All requirements for his comfort, well-being and medical needs were constantly monitored and adjusted to ensure a high level of care. Dad enjoyed the company of the happy staff and we thank them for treating him with continued respect and dignity as he neared the end of life. The family will always remain extremely grateful to all the wonderful staff at Overseal Residental Home.
