View Full Details of Langdale Lodge Care HomeMy dad came to Langdale Lodge three months ago. The care he has received has been exceptional. His needs are severe, and every one of his needs is being met fully. It has been an emotional time for my family, especially my mum, and the care home has been wonderful to her when she visits Dad on a daily basis with her little dog. She knows that Dad is being so well looked after by the caring staff, and she is welcomed with a friendly smile and a chat. We highly recommend this lovely care home whose staff go above and beyond.
My thanks to all the staff at Langdale Lodge for making my mum's birthday so special for her today. She thoroughly enjoyed the attention, and every member of staff made a fuss of her, and she absolutely adored it! Everyone went to so much trouble - making my husband and I so welcome and then the kitchen staff making her such a special cake with her name on it! It tasted delicious too! Many of the staff made time to pop in and sing 'Happy Birthday' when presenting her with the specially made cake, along with cards and gifts that had arrived in the post. It was a really precious time and made moments to be treasured. Our heartfelt thanks go to the staff at Langdale Lodge for the special efforts today, but also for the daily care and love given so freely. They really are a very special team of people!
My father-in-law became a resident in December 2023. Since then, he has been very happy, and his health has improved. The family are very pleased with his care. The home is warm and inviting, and the staff are friendly and helpful. His care has been excellent, and the communication from the home to the family has been exceptional. This has made the transition to accepting a nursing home much better than expected.
Good, well-run nursing home.
As friends of a resident (four of us) for many years, we come weekly to see her. We cannot speak highly enough of the home. The staff are so caring and polite. They always offer us a drink. We notice how kind and patient they are with the residents.
My wife has been in Langdale over 3 years now and although her dementia has advanced significantly her stay and treatment remains 1st class.
Dad has been a resident now for 10 months. I would not hesitate to recommend this home if your loved one is suffering from dementia. The team care they build a bond with the resident and the family. They always do what is best for their residents. Dad is extremely difficult to deal with and we are assured the expert supervision is available at all times. This is an extremely tough time for the family and of course Dad but we feel lucky that Langdale is here to make things bearable.
The staff at Langdale Lodge are excellent. They are very patient and caring with both residents and the family.
Mum has always been against living anywhere apart from her own home. After her health deteriorated we decided as a family that respite care was the best option. Mum has settled into the home and has now decided that she would like to stay permanently. The staff here are first class. Mum likes the fact there are people around all the time and has a good rapport with everyone there. Her health has improved and she seems to be very content and happy.
I visit my brother on a regular basis, he is always in praise of the staff and is really settled. Staff are always pleasant and attentive towards patients and visitors. The home is kept very clean and tidy.
My mum stayed at Langdale Lodge for the last three months of her life with end-stage dementia. It's been a really hard time, but her being at Langdale and the care she has received have made this so much easier. The staff go above and beyond every day. My mum was treated with nothing but kindness and love, and the care staff are brilliant. I had no worries my mum was well cared for. There is laughter in the home, which was so important, and the staff genuinely care for the residents. The nursing provision is excellent, and they made my mum's final days comfortable and peaceful. We will be forever grateful for the care she received at Langdale, which is giving us some comfort at such a sad time. A massive thanks to all at Langdale.
I'm so impressed at the care and cleanliness of Langdale; it's like being at home. I feel very reassured when leaving that the best care is being given.
My father has been a resident at Langdale Lodge Care Home for over two years, and for all of that time his care has been exemplary. His carers are friendly, patient and loving. Langdale Lodge has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and we couldn't have chosen a better place for dad. Thank you so much to all those who care for him.
My mother has been at Langdale Lodge since April this year, I cannot fault the care she has received. She's happy whenever I see her, she's engaged with the staff and other residents. The staff go to great length to make sure that the residents are well cared for and are happy, I visit the home quite regularly and whenever I'm there the staff treat all the residents with care and compassion, they set up various activities for the residents to do to keep people engaged etc. I would have no issue with recommending Langdale Lodge to look after your loved one.
Only been a short time as yet but I cannot fault anything. Management and staff are always there for you and very helpful.
Mum seems to have settled in really well. Still concerned about her hearing aid and glasses, which to me, are a necessity. Now she is taking her medication correctly, she sleeps a lot but does wake up during the night. Langdale care workers are caring, kind, happy and very helpful. I am so grateful to all of you. Thank you.
My husband has been a resident in Langdale Lodge for 3 years next month. During this time we have had ups and downs with changes in management and carers. The present management have had a clearer understanding of his needs, due to advanced dementia and his inability to communicate. Prior to COVID, I had been very hands-on due to his problems, I still wanted to be part of his life so communication with management was of paramount importance. Obviously, over the 2 lockdowns, it's been very difficult for all concerned to keep the home COVID free. I would like to compliment them all on the hard work that's been done.
Mum has been here for over a year and has received excellent care and attention. Staff are helpful and make an effort to make Mum as comfortable as possible. We have been impressed by the range of activities too. Would highly recommend.
Because of COVID19, I have only just recently been allowed in the home. My husband entered the home in May 2020, I have only been in the hallway and the dining room where I see my husband so, unfortunately, I am unable to give ratings for some areas. I have found the staff caring, considerate and helpful with any questions I have. I am quite happy with the care my husband is getting during these difficult times.
Mum was given the warmest welcome when she was transferred from hospital. Although Alzheimer’s and hearing problems cause confusion, she obviously feels the care as she keeps thanking the staff and saying she loves them! I have seen a distinct improvement in her well-being and physical health. During pod visits and now, inside the home, I see a kind, consistent, cooperative approach, but have also had good communication and information outside of this. It was a huge worry to hope Mum was in the right home, but to date, I have only high praise for Langdale Lodge. Meantime I feel settled that she is in safe, caring hands.
