View Full Details of Victoria CourtMy Mum who has Alzheimer's was admitted to Victoria Court for 3 weeks respite care. From the moment I visited Victoria Court, I knew it was the right place for Mum. Both the manager and deputy manager took time to reassure me they would look after Mum and I haven't been disappointed. The staff at Victoria Court are always cheerful, friendly, helpful and reassuring. They work hard to encourage and support Mum helping her to maintain her independence and dignity - showing her respect at all times. The care given at Victoria Court is clearly sympathetically structured to meet the needs of its clients, from the variety of activities provided to 'snack stations' and calling rooms flats. Needless to say Mum will continue her care at Victoria Court!
Good.
Had a wonderful experience with all the staff at Victoria Court regarding all care for my sister.
First visit to see our sister-in-law. The staff and management are excellent. The food looked very tasty. Didn't see rooms or talk about activities so can't comment. Overall looks like an excellent home with very caring staff.
My view on Victoria Court is the staff are very friendly and caring, nothing seems too much trouble if you ask them to do something good activities for my mum to do. Food seems good, always do special days, bonfire night, Christmas etc. Rooms are adequate for the needs of the residents.
The staff are all very helpful and friendly. They are all willing to help. If I had to go anywhere it would definitely be here. Thank you all for taking care of my friend and all the other residents.
My sister and I visited the home today to see our mum, downstairs rooms were fantastically decorated with a 1920s theme, all black and gold with balloon garlands and large posters. Staff were in 1920's costumes looking really good, fully made- up, in their black and gold dresses and feathered bands and beads, with lots of sequins and glamour or gangster trousers, braces and moustaches! All at 10.30am! The place looked immaculately clean, as it always does. A lovely experience, the residents really appreciated it all and so did we! We left in the early afternoon, however, there was a singer planned after lunch. Levels of enthusiasm by the staff was great thank - you I hope that plenty of cash was raised from the stalls and raffles for your projects. Well done to you all, you must be absolutely worn out by bedtime! Our deepest gratitude to you all. Mum is so fortunate to be there.
You walk into the home and you can feel a good vibe. There is soft music playing and even the busy staff always have a smile and hello for you. The activities are first-class and all inclusive for the residents. The management is super and always there if you need to discuss anything.
I visited my mum today and I like to wash/blow her hair to make her look lovely. The staff are so helpful, one member of staff in particular took me to the hair salon as Mum is not very mobile and took the time to help with hearing aids too. My mum has the best experience of a warm friendly place to live with plenty of activities and entertainment. I always come away very grateful, I would definitely recommend this home to anyone.
Victoria Court has taken so much pressure off me with respect to my mother's care and I honestly couldn't recommend them too highly. My mother always looks clean and tidy. Her meals are excellent and her personal hygiene is constantly monitored. She is happy and I can visit her any time. The management is excellent and all the staff are professional and friendly. There is always a happy atmosphere around the place.
My family have been very happy with the care provided for my mother since she moved there in 2021. Staff are friendly and treat her with respect. She always receives prompt attention for any medical issues and a proactive approach is taken to managing her conditions and keeping her safe. When inevitable issues of friction/conflict with other residents have arisen these have been dealt with sensitively. Food appears very good and also provided with flexibility - for example seeing she was provided with something appetizing and nutritious after returning at unsocial hours from a hospital admission. The leadership provided by the Home Manager and Care Manager is excellent. I was very impressed by the recent meeting for residents and relatives - I've been to dozens, perhaps hundreds, of resident participation meetings in my career and this was among the very best - comprehensive, really engaged, and a genuine two-way conversation. I would happily recommend Victoria Court to others.
Victoria Court has provided excellent care for my father-in-law since his move there in late summer 2023. Having previously lived independently alone since being widowed, a recent fall and new diagnosis of mixed dementia meant that he and we, his family, agreed the time was right for this move. Our family is spread across England; Victoria Court is great at supporting us, local family, to visit often in person and help keep distant family in touch by phone. Our dad asked for a view, good food and to feel safe. He loves his flat, the garden and looking out on the park. They cater to his particular tastes without question! We're reassured he's safe, through good, solid nursing and compassionate care by all staff. They have quickly learnt to understand him as a person, to know when something is not quite right. They are adaptable and responsive. As a family of nurses, we have no concerns about his care and would highly recommend Victoria Court to others.
My mother recently moved into Victoria Court after a short stay in the hospital, no longer safe to be alone in her own house. It only took a few weeks to settle in and find her feet with the excellent support from all members of staff. She's found a new lease of life, which is so lovely to see, enjoying the fun and activities and making new friends. It's lovely to know she's no longer lonely and surrounded by people who genuinely care, such a weight off my mind. I'll quote her saying, "It's the best I've done"!
A wonderful care home, with excellent staff and very caring.
Very friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Lots of lovely touches. Snacks, fresh fruit and drinks always available. The activities are good. The singing was brilliant, with the residents joining in and led in a very enthusiastic way. Coffee mornings, with cake stands full of lovely cakes. The building is very clean and smells fresh.
Victoria Court is excellent. We were very worried about my gran moving out of her home, but the staff have been wonderful and my gran is very happy. This is a person-centred, welcoming place and I can't recommend it highly enough.
My mother was a resident for over a year until her recent passing. The care she was given was to a very high standard.
The care my recently deceased mother received in the last day of her life was exemplary. The empathy and dignity were a sight to behold by all the staff to a person. How comfortable Mum was in her bed in her final hours will live with me for the rest of my days and how grateful we were whilst in her company in her final moments.
Care could not have been better. Excellent in all areas.
My wife went into Victoria Court six months ago. She suffers from Alzheimer's and needs a lot of care - she is looked after by caring staff who treat her with dignity and care, showing great patience. There are many games for those residents capable of playing. Food and drinks are always given.
