View Full Details of Douglas CourtThe care home has been a lot calmer recently and that's been so good as its helped mums mood to lift. The food has improved with more snacks the cutlery is still dirty at times and the food can be lukewarm - big portions too so there's a lot of waste. Considering the challenges presented by some of the residents a high level of care is delivered and the staff particularly the regular ones are worth their weight in gold, with personalised attention to mum as an individual. Thank you.
My father has dementia and can be demanding and needing. The staff take it all in their stride, I genuinely believe that all the staff members love and care about my father. All the staff are approachable and very knowledgeable about my fathers care and needs. The home is spotlessly clean and tidy. He is engaged with all the activities going on all the time in and out of the home.
I came here in a total mess after years of drinking and drug abuse, also homeless at times. the staff here have been professional and helpful at all times. The food is excellent and I have gained quite a bit of weight although I am quite an active person.
I think the staff at Douglas Court are amazing, caring and look after mum well. When she is miserable they try to cheer her up. The place is kept clean and they try hard to provide interesting activities. The fairly new manager is very creative, opening up the sensory garden and social hub! I think she has been overworked and has been a ill as a result. Mum is kept safe and the senior carers keep us informed of what is happening when she falls etc. It's sad mum can no longer live at home but Douglas Court is a good place for her with fantastic staff who try hard in difficult care.
Excellent. It's friendly and homely the staff are welcoming and caring. It is very clean and reliable and work hard. The food is acceptable, appetising, though I would like more brown bread and hot food in the middle of the day when I am more hungry, and I have tea in the evening. There are some good activities going on. I like it when people come in to sing, especially the church and children's groups.
This place is so good for people they are there for everyone. To me, they are the most qualified staff that I know in Derby, that gets top marks from me.
My nan stayed at Douglas Court for two weeks of respite care. She received five-star support from all the staff and management. The cleanliness of the care home is excellent and she enjoyed all food and drink provided. I would recommend the care home to anyone and it will be my nan's first choice of respite if needed again.
My nan was sent for assessment and I cannot explain the difference in her she is well cared for. The staff encourage her to get involved. The manager is amazing and goes above and beyond. She isn't just there for residences but for family. The carers are kind caring patients.
After my father stayed in another care home in Derby I was not looking forward to him coming to Douglas Court, However, all my fears were proved wrong. What lovely staff. Very caring, respectful and accommodating. My father has received first-class care. He is clean, warm and well-fed. Here there is a stimulating environment with laughter and fun.
I came here for respite care and that has worked well for my family. The staff are very friendly and obliging. They have helped me with my daily care and activities. The staff have helped me understand where everything is within the home, which was very good. The outside aviary is great as I can see it from the conservatory.
Very friendly staff. Well-organised home. Very caring towards the residents and visitors. Happy environment.
We were looking for respite care for my mum while we went away for a few days. I contacted Douglas Court, and they were really helpful, everything was sorted within a matter of a few days. They even came to do Mum's assessment in the hospital because she had been taken in a few days before. The room was lovely, clean and bright. The staff and the management team are excellent, and it really shows that they care about the residents. Mum has really enjoyed her time in Douglas Court and will definitely be coming back in the future.
Nice surroundings and very clean. Very kind staff. Informative staff. Clean, comfortable bedroom. Nice food, very pleased with care home in all aspects.
My dad has been at Douglas Court for 6 weeks and he has been very well looked after. Staff are helpful and kind and always do their best. The home is clean and warm with excellent facilities. My dad says the meals are lovely.
The home is excellent and the management is exceptional. I hope when I am older I can live here.
It's comforting to know that my mum is being well cared for by the excellent staff at Douglas Court. They treat her with kindness and dignity and are very caring towards her. I feel that all staff know her well and meet her needs in a sensitive way. They all work so hard as a team to provide a warm, friendly and stimulating environment and go the extra mile by organising daily activities and special events. Everyone at Douglas Court is always very welcoming to us as a family and demonstrate a real sense of community spirit. We would highly recommend them.
Whenever I visit my mother-in-law there are many staff on hand to attend to anything that should arise. This is done in a sensitive, caring, kind and efficient way. I have taken part in many of the activities and events that are put on for the residents. They are designed to stimulate and provide a community spirit. People are looked after well and listened to with genuine attention, not easy sometimes when circumstances are stretched.
My father-in-law was treated with the utmost respect from day one to the very end, even the funeral service company commented on his final journey, the staff lined his departure from the home! When he was able to in his early days in the home he would partake in as many activities as possible and was often seen on the website on days out! Your staff made his final days as comfortable as possible. Thank you to all and thanks to a staff member for all her support and understanding!
Dad resided at Douglas Court from September 2023 to his death in December 2023. The home is a caring environment, calm, clean and welcoming. The staff are friendly and cared for Dad with dignity. Dad was encouraged to take part in activities and in the early months used to enjoy his trips out. Any problems were dealt with and quickly. As Dad deteriorated his needs were met and the staff made him very comfortable and looked after him until the end. A particular staff member and her team should be proud and I would have no hesitation in recommending Douglas Court.
Carers aw always welcoming and friendly. Nothing ever seems to be too much. Cleaners always say hello and will have a chat. The home is clean and warm and inviting. Everyone always welcomes my children too which is a huge bonus.
