View Full Details of Elvaston Lodge Nursing HomeThe best decision we made was to choose Elvaston Lodge for mum's end-of-life care. The management and staff have not only looked after mum with the highest standard of care and respect but have looked after us as a family. Every member of the team is kind, caring and supportive. The team always explain what they need to do to my mum and ask her permission. I can't thank them enough.
My mother is in for end of life care and we are so grateful to the management and and staff for her care. My mother has been treated with nothing but respect, dignity and care. This ethos is carried towards every member of the team no matter the task, nature or shift. The team helped us throughout a very difficult time. I can't thank you enough for this.
Well what can I say, Elvaston Lodge Nursing Home is fantastic. My wife's dad was taken really ill and ended up in hospital accident and emergency with the urine retract infection. We were there quite a while. We came back to Elvaston Lodge Nursing Home, they stopped there for five weeks, him and his wife, and the care that those two people received was absolutely amazing. I cannot recommend them enough. The staff face many difficult challenges each day and yet still smile and are helpful. Their double room was great for them. Thank you all at the Lodge!
I have found Elvaston Lodge to be a very pleasant care home. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Any queries are answered efficiently. Although my grandmother was not with you very long, I am thankful that you were here to provide the care and support she needed and that I couldn't give at home. Thank you so much.
The resident care team are outstanding, always caring, attentive, understanding, good-humoured, pleasant and friendly. However, the level of staffing is woefully inadequate. There are utterly ridiculous processes and procedures in place which are completely at odds with those at other care homes. These are also seemingly changed at whim by management. It's a tedious process to gain access to visit and dangerously difficult to leave the building. I wonder if there was an incident whether the residents and visitors would be able to exit safely The recent alteration to staff rotas, forcing the carers to split their shift with a 2-hour break while extending their work day by this 2 hours was an example of extremely poor management. Surely this is an unacceptable change of employment contract. Were staff compensated for this disruption? How did the home management anticipate this would influence staff morals and retention? The care home management is rarely apparent or available.
The short time my mum was in care everyone associated with the care home was caring, very attentive and professional. My family and I appreciate the wonderful care of my mum.
Not enough carers. Too much cake and biscuits. No exercise. Some staff are excellent. Belongs going missing. Paying for toiletries not used by my husband and I had taken them in for him.
Dad had Alzheimer's and became a resident at Elvaston Lodge as he required an increasing amount of care for his personal needs. The home recognised his individual and changing needs and adapted routines and level of care accordingly. The home kept him safe and provided him with the security he required as his Alzheimer's worsened.
My father has only been there 4 weeks but from what I have seen up to now is excellent. All the staff are so welcoming and caring towards him and his family. I never feel that I am in the way and they try their utmost best to accommodate family. Today visited with my children and grandchild and joined in with a bingo game. The lovely activity staff member included us with my dad and he had a lovely time with his family. We were offered the opportunity to take him away from the game but we chose not to. This was not a problem for staff. I have written this review because I was touched by how accommodating they were.
My uncle was very happy here. The staff were very caring and kind. Nothing was too much trouble for them. My uncle always looked clean and well-presented and the ones I came into contact with were genuinely kind, caring lovely people. I still have my parents, I am lucky but they are elderly, and if I ever need to look for a care home this would certainly be one of my choices. Thank you to everyone, the whole team from the cooks, cleaners and all the staff. Sadly my uncle passed away peacefully on 30/04/24 but was treated with dignity and respect. You are all wonderful.
Staff great at all levels. Building nice. Food good.
I was very happy to see my mother looking so well. She has had her fair share of illness. I had dinner with her for the first time at the care home on the 9/ 3/24. I was very impressed with how the dinner was presented it was also very delicious. Her room was very clean. I wish to thank the team for how the care home is run. Also thanks to all the carers for the work they do. They don’t get paid enough for what they do. I do hope that in good time the government will look into what it involves to be a carer and give them a higher pay to reflect the hard work they do. I wish to express my deepest appreciation to the management and staff for what they do. The work they do is very challenging. I am at ease knowing my mum is well cared for. Thank you to everyone at Elvaston Lodge Nursing Home.
Overall the care my aunt received has been exceptional. The care team have supported both myself and my aunt. everyone has shown great concern, care and respect for my family. Thank you for making the remainder of my aunt's life as happy and fulfilled as possible.
Thank you to all the staff. For looking after our mum when she needed support, care and compassion the whole staff team treated our mum well with lots of respect and dignity. Thank you for being there for us all as a family. You listened and cared and made us part of the Elvaston Lodge community family. You’re all amazing thank you again.
My dad was in Elvaston Lodge from 2021, he has been cared for by the staff and looked after with great dignity. At the end of his life, staff were there at his side as I didn't make it. My only reservation is the wait time to get into the main building, I appreciate staff are busy, in my mind there should be a receptionist. Other than that an absolute five star to all the staff.
Very pleased with the support given. The staff work hard to provide care. The facilities are good.
My grandmother has been in the home for two months, and so far, we are very pleased with her care.
The staff are very kind and caring. Their care of my brother is excellent.
The experience is very good, but would like more residents to participate in activities apart from me. Hopefully, we will be able to go out in the garden soon, I do like helping with plants in the greenhouse when there is one. Would like to choose who I sit next to in the lounge! At another home, most residents got involved and we used to have more entertainment, e.g. singers. I would also like more involvement with church, Songs of Praise etc. Rooms not as good as the other home.
Elvaston Lodge proved to be a caring, friendly and safe environment for mum. The home is clean and bright with modern en suite rooms. Lovely staff who always treated mum with respect and care for all her needs. The food is very good and mum has started to eat again since being at the Lodge. The entertainment lady is so good at motivating the residents and mum enjoyed the various activities. I must also give credit to the manager who is actively involved with residents and their families and works hard to cater for their needs, I found her to be very supportive of both mum and us as a family.
