View Full Details of Brockshill WoodlandsBrockshill looked after my mum for 3 month after she had a fall breaking both her arms. The staff are very kind and caring. It is a shame I cant name names as some are Angels. The home is managed very professionally and the manager was alway available to me. I was alway impressed with how she was aware of every detail to do with my mothers care. Rooms are bright and nicely decorated but it would be good if drinking water was available from the taps but that is my only niggle. A very caring place run by a professional caring manager & team.
The ongoing proffessional, friednly care that the staff show to my mother and all residents is very reassuring. A care home that understands and delivers on both of the words in the title! I have no hesitation in recommending Brockshill Woodlands to others looking for the care, respect and dignity that we are seeking for our family members when care is sought.
Since being at Brockshill Woodlands, my father has flourished. He is honestly the happiest I have ever seen him. His room is lovely, and the staff are so good with him. So caring and tailor his week to what he would like to do. He has even gained weight as he is enjoying his meals.
My father has lived on his own with dementia for 7 years, but recently, even with regular carers, he was struggling. The care home manager came out to assess his needs and suitability and from the first moment she met him, she very skilfully established a rapport with him. She agreed to take him on and has been an absolute picture of professionalism in the way she has helped him settle in and has reassured me, dementia is a cruel disease, but I feel I have my father back.
I cannot praise this care home highly enough. When my mom was transferred from the hospital to Brockshill, the care she received was excellent. She spent her last few days here. Through this very hard time, they looked after my mom with care, patience and a loving nature at all times. They spoke to her and us saying what was being done at every step. The staff could not do enough, always working above and beyond. One staff member worked an extra 6 hours on her shift, in order to care for my mother. Amazing service. My sister and I spent the last 48 hours of my mother's time with her in this home, only leaving to freshen up. It was no problem for us to always be there, staff even brought comfy chairs for us. At times when other family arrived to have 7 people in the room, was not an issue. Amazing staff and care home. Thank you so much for your care and help.
My nan had been a client at Woodlands a few times over the years and during the covid pandemic she was not able to manage at home so she went back to Woodlands where she felt safe, happy and content. She was extremely happy and very well cared for. All the staff, including the manager, treated her with nothing but dignity and respect even though she could be a little cheeky. She was shown love and treated as one of the Woodlands family. Sadly my nan passed away peacefully on the 23rd April. I would like to take this opportunity to thank every staff member for all the love and support they gave my nan over the years. You have all gone above and beyond and we as a family will be forever grateful. You all are amazing and have the biggest of hearts.
My mother has now been removed from this awful place. Due to Coronavirus, I was unable to visit inside so I cannot comment on conditions inside the home. Every time I asked how my mum was I was told different stories. When I did get to see her she looked more and more ill and withdrawn. She also complained of pain and being left isolated. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
It's like being with Dad in his own home. All staff and Dad's friends are like one big family. Myself and Dad are always treated like family.
Once inside the door, the welcome is good. I mainly visit in the afternoons and sometimes entertainment is ongoing but I usually join in and most residents seem to be enjoying themselves. My mother has now been at the home for two years and has settled very well. The staff have got used to her and she to them. Some residents have no visitors so myself and sisters talk and have a laugh with them. It's a friendly home and most of the residents settle well.
My father has been here for the past 4 years, the care and friendliness of the staff have never faulted in any way! Although my father is deaf the staff always talk to him face to face so he can see they are speaking to him. He likes to wander around the home and the staff keep a good eye on him because keeping mobile is good for him. The home and management and staff are constantly trying to find places to go to with the residents also.
I cannot express enough how well my Husband has been treated, the staff here are simply amazing. They are caring,m supportive and empathetic. They take time to listen and go the extra mile, not just for my Husband, but I have seen it with other residents too. I would like to express how grateful and thankful I am as I know he is being very well cared for. This is the perfect place for him to get well.
Always clean and tidy and very helpful and Mum's always been looked after.
My mom has been taken care of at the care home for over a year and always seems OK and looked after. She can be a challenge as suffers from dementia, so the staff seem to cope well and understand her needs.
Although the home looks tired and in need of further renovation. The staff are very dedicated, caring and couldn't do enough for you. During the last few weeks of my mother's life, the staff were brilliant in dealing with my mother in a caring and dignified manner.
First impressions, the home was tired but this is in no way reflected in the care. The manager is enthusiastic and caring and spends time with the residents talking to them, calming them, making them feel at home. She also takes time with the carers to explain what is happening to their loved ones. The atmosphere in the home is good and all the staff work well together and interact well with residents and family, treating us all with respect.
At first we were very cautious and unsure what to expect from a care home. We had struggled to provide my father all the care he needed. The whole idea of a care home was alien. Brockshill Woodland formed a trusting and bonding relationship with my father instantly. It was brilliant. The whole dynamics changed and I was able to see my father improve in his everyday needs and care. I enjoy going to the care home and being part of my fathers life as a son again. Brockshill Woodlands have a refreshing approach and have helped both my father and my family.
My mother in law has spent just over two weeks at Brockshill whilst waiting for a room at a home that we had chosen prior to the Brockshill stay. The Brockshill building is not very inviting and we were very apprehensive when we first visited, but all of the staff are excellent and cannot do enough for all of the residents that are there. The staff are very well trained and all do their very best to keep the residents happy, which is not always easy. Caring is not an easy profession as there are so many different problems to address to many different characters, but the staff at Brockshill do their very best and we had no complaints. We never found mother in law in a dirty or unpresentable state and although she is not a big eater, she enjoyed the meals she had. Mother in law (although not always sociable) settled in very well and was sad to leave the friends that she had made, but we had already committed her to the other home which was more suitable for her needs. Thanks to the Manager all staff for making my mother in law so welcome.
