View Full Details of Cedar HouseCedar House is a professionally run care home with outstanding staff who are caring, respectful, compassionate, well equipped to deal with difficult situations, knowledgeable, and who all work to provide a home with a wonderful, warm atmosphere. My mum is as happy as she could be giving up her independence and appreciates this is the best place for her as the home constantly updates her care plan to facilitate her condition.
For the last five years the staff of Cedar House have provided excellent care for my mother. As she approaches 94 her health has naturally deteriorated but I know mum is in safe, compassionate hands. Over many visits to the home, I have seen staff at all levels give professional care but also genuine affection too. The management team are always helpful and keep us informed of issues as they arise. It is a huge comfort to my siblings and I to know that our mother is in such good hands.
Care is excellent. There is a choice of food, with varied menus. Cleanliness is always first class. Rooms are very comfortable, with attention to detail. There are planned activities, and entertainment, with occasional theatre trips. All staff and management at Cedar House are very professional, kind, thoughtful and caring. The only minor issue I've experienced is attention to detail with laundry.
Dad has recently had an accident when he was out with my husband. The concern and care shown by staff on his return and the love which flows in the home meant that I was quite content to leave dad in their care. I wrote to someone, that I had returned him to the loving care of the care home - it makes such a difference knowing that he is cared for.
My dad has been a Cedar House resident since the Summer. He has always been fiercely independent but has adjusted well particularly with the empathy shown by the management team. They, along with their staff, although busy, offer time for a chat about any concerns, keep us informed of any issues, are kind, caring and smiley. The carers are quick to get medical help if needed, again informing the family and discussing with my dad. The maintenance team are visual and will help in any way to accommodate items from home. The home is welcoming, clean, smells nice - is warm and friendly and I feel at home there too. The dining room is fabulously arranged and there is a lovely small cafe available. The residents are offered a decent choice of food and amount is varied per residents wishes. They are encouraged to eat in the dining room or if preferred can remain in their room. We have weekly updates of the many activities if you wish to participate. We are all happy, as dad is too, with Cedar House.
Cedar House care home continues to deliver excellent care for my elderly mother. Staff are well trained, motivated and very caring people. Staff are so helpful with any problems that arise with my mum's care.
Dad came into Cedar house for respite not long after Mum passed away, he felt he did not want to be at home by himself and was struggling. After two weeks of respite Dad decide he want to became a permanent resident, Dad seems happier in himself and the staff seem nice and have time for a chat with relatives if needed.
Wonderful, caring staff. Very clean, welcoming environment. Lots of different activities on offer for the residents to enjoy. Management are very visual, informative and reassuring. A wonderful place for mum to live.
Our family is very happy with the care which Cedar House are providing for my Mum. The home keeps us informed of any medical issues eg chest or urine infections. Telephone contact via Cedar House's mobile phone system works well. My Mum often comments that the staff in Cedar House are very kind to her. Cedar House staff have helped us with an attendance allowance application and have helped us with options relating to funding my Mum's care. We are impressed with the range and regularity of activities which Cedar House provides for all residents.
Mum has been in the home for just over three months now and has settled and doing well. The staff have all welcomed her and made mum feel at home. All of my first impressions are good and I feel my mother is being well cared for. I think Cedar House has been a good choice for our mum and I am confident I could talk to them if I had any concerns.
The quality of the home starts at the top and the leaders on a day-to-day basis are excellent. The staff treat the residents with the greatest respect and whilst they are busy they take the time to get to know the residents, it is like a family. My Mother took some time to settle, especially as she joined when isolation was required due to COVID. I couldn't have asked for a more supportive team at a time that was difficult for all of us. The home is extremely clean, well looked after, and has beautiful gardens. The maintenance team works hard to keep everything functioning and they make such a difference (including when my Mum asked one of them to ensure they cut the lawn near her room - which they did!).
My mother has not been sentient or able to get out of bed for 2 years. The care she receives from all involved from the management to the nurse and staff has been caring, professional and heartwarming.
Beautiful home set in beautiful gardens. The room is immaculate and beautifully decorated. The staff is very helpful and nothing seems to be any trouble for them. We are highly happy with the care that my Father receives. Dad is happy at Cedar House and asked to stay permanently after his respite stay. All the staff go above and beyond.
My aunt passed away in November 2023, having lived in Cedar House since early 2021. The staff in this residential home treat all of their residents as family, and the care and love shown to my aunt throughout her stay, especially towards the end, was incredible. She was remote from her family, meaning that visits were well-spaced, but we were able to see her enjoying life through the social media pages of the home. As it became clear that she was approaching the end of a long 93-year life, we were all able to gather and see her through to the end. During this time, the staff could not have been more caring and supportive of the family members as well. Having viewed a large number of care facilities for both my aunt and, previously, my father, I can confidently say this is the best I have seen and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone whose elderly loved one is in need of care. My thanks to all of the staff there.
My relative quickly decided to become a resident during respite care eighteen months ago. Cedar House's facilities are excellent; clean and very well kept. The staff, and their kind support in a safe environment, have helped my cousin relax and enjoy life. Any medical issues have been dealt with promptly and family kept updated. No effort is spared to provide interests and activities and these are communicated to family. Access to outside space and the café are a real bonus. Cedar House is expertly managed.
My elderly in-laws stayed there for a month after leaving hospital. I was very impressed with the friendly staff, cleanliness and facilities of the home. This is probably one of the best care homes that I have seen. I will have no hesitation to have my elderly in-laws return if or when necessary.
Mum has been at Cedar House for about eight months, and she has been very well looked after by the staff team there. Occasionally some can be a little impatient, but they do work hard, and it can be very demanding work. The senior staff are particularly excellent, knowledgeable, caring and professional. It is very much a home - welcoming, warm, comfortable and friendly. There is always a buzz of life there, and the activities on offer are interesting and varied. I just wish Mum would join in with them more. She is always asked, but they respect her wish not to. I certainly wouldn't want my Mum anywhere else.
Amazing care home, quite the best our family has ever experienced. Wonderful and caring staff, they really are so proud of their home. We highly recommend Cedar House and really thank the manager and all her team for their care of our Mum.
We continue to be very happy with the care provided to our mother by the staff at Cedar House. A marvelous range of activities and visiting groups from the community make for an interesting and interactive life. The addition of the Café has made the place even more sociable and provides a place for small groups of people to meet socially.
The home is a caring community. Facilities are good and well maintained. My mother has been very happy since joining two years ago. She remarks on how friendly the staff are. She can be as independent as she wishes and does not feel at all institutionalised. There are however many organised and unorganised activities which she can and does enter into. Her only gripe is that she would like the choice of food to include more vegetarian options. Visitors are made very welcome and I am kept informed by staff about my mother’s health.
