View Full Details of Chataway Care HomeI cannot be more impressed with this care home. My grandma has been here for about 5 years and now is at the final stage of life. The carers genuinely love her and all the residents. There is nothing they won't do for the comfort and care of each person including us (her family), as we spend around the clock time with her. The home is immaculately clean, smells fresh and is constantly kept that way around the clock. The residents are kept clean and are given dignity and compassion. It is such a comfort that my grandma has been, and is being cared for in such a loving and caring way. Thank you so much to everyone at Chataway Care Home. You make a huge difference in the lives of so many. God bless each one of you!
I thank my lucky stars every day that Mum made it to Chataway. She was on their waiting list for about 6 months and when a room became available I cried with relief! She is 94 years old with dementia and sadly, even with our care, was unable to cope at home anymore. My dad (95 with dementia) was a resident there for nearly 2 years and that's why I was so desperate to get Mum in there too. They are a family who cares. The manager and staff are just amazing and they treated my dad with love and respect and they are now doing the same for my mum. I cannot thank them all enough. She is well looked after 24 hours a day. She is entertained, pampered, well fed, and any medical issues are dealt with promptly and efficiently by the staff. Dementia is a very challenging condition, but the staff there cope brilliantly and know exactly how to deal with every situation, however traumatic. My parents had been in other homes for respite, but nothing compared to Chataway, such a lovely place.
My mum had been discharged from hospital, looking very frail and not particularly well. I was asked not to visit Mum for five days. When I visited Mum, I was so surprised at how different she looked. Her hair had been washed and set, Mum looked so much better. She was eating and drinking well, something Mum had been struggling with for some time. My overall view of the home: Caring staff with good humour! Catering for all Mum's needs! Promoting independence! Mum's mobility has improved greatly, also mum tells me the meals are lovely! This care home is well-run and organised! For me, I am pleased that Mum looks so much better. I would recommend the home, and would like to thank the staff and the manager for making a difference to my mum's well being.
Finding a care home is a hard thing to ask of anybody but finding Chataway Care Home is a blessing it's where the resident is put first. My Nan has always been stubborn and never wanted to interact with anybody but since being at Chataway she's been a different lady with a sense of purpose and a quality of life, she enjoys and takes part in all the activities, and she always has a smile on her face, bantering with the staff and always looks so lovely and well presented she has found a new appetite with all the lovely food they offer. The staff are always so lovely and hands-on ready to help with whatever question we have or anything that Nan needs. The Manager you couldn't ask for anyone better, she is like everyone's Mum, she gives you a sense of family as soon as you walk through the door she's always on hand to calm any anxiety you have and keeps you updated with anything she's the heart of Chataway! I couldn't rave about it more We are so blessed Nan has got her place with her Chataway.
If I'm honest, I'm finding it hard to put into words how grateful I am to have found Chataway. I feel love when I walk in there and know that when I leave that my Mother is in the safest of hands. The team is fantastic. Run by a lady who is on the ball with everything. Dementia has taken away the Mother that I knew. But this fantastic team ensures she is well looked after, she is clean, tidy, and enjoys the company. If you ever have a dilemma like I did in choosing a care home then choose Chataway. I will be ever grateful that I did. What a gem it is
Chataway House has been so amazing settling my Nana into the home. She's moved from assisted living and the team has made her transition effortless. She is cared for so incredibly well. The home is spotlessly clean. The carers there care for the residents like their own family that's the feeling I get when visiting Nana. There are activities run throughout the day and Nana can take part if she wants or is free to sit back and watch. The food is something else! She says constantly, it takes her back to cooking for her family, good home-cooked meals. I've noticed a huge change in Nana's health and well-being since being at Chataway and it's such a comfort to me knowing she's being cared for as well as she is. The manager is also hot on appointments and medication. Following up hospital appointments and being in touch with the doctors when needed. Overall I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to a care home. My Nana is so happy.
The staff at Chatterway Care Home provided invaluable support for our 96-year-old uncle whilst we took a much-needed break. Although they did not have the accommodation to take him in for respite, they did provide him with a midday meal and afternoon tea every day, checking to see that he was safe and well. Uncle looked forward to the visits each day, more so because usually, we are the only faces he sees from one day to the next. The staff were always warm and friendly and he could not praise them highly enough. Thank you Chatterway, your help has been invaluable and is very much appreciated.
My Mum has been a resident since July 2023, originally just for a couple of weeks but loved it so much that she decided to move in permanently. Mum loves all the staff and often refers to them as her friends. She’s well looked after and loves having her nails done. Fantastic meals and desserts. Mum would not want to live anywhere else.
It was a very difficult and emotional time when the time came for us to look for a care home for our mum, who has Dementia, however it is now almost 12 months since mum moved in and I can not find the words to adequately reflect what an incredible care home this is. The Home is so clean and fresh. Mums room is lovely and airy with her home comforts and photos. Mum is always looking lovely and clean and tidy, in her own clothes. All the staff are really kind, helpful and patient with all the residents. The manager is one of the most caring and considerate people I have ever met and is so on the ball when it comes to the right time to call in the professional services e.g Doctor, SALTs, ensuring the family are aware/involved. There is always at least one staff member in the lounge with the residents. Seeing residents singing and laughing and for some, dancing is a joy to see. My mum has an excellent quality of life at Chataway and we certainly hit the jackpot when she moved into her now, forever home.
Gran had to go into care suddenly after an unforeseen hospital stay and even though the manager had an unexpected bereavement, Gran's acceptance into Chataway Care Home happened quickly and with care. Gran has told a friend that she likes it at Chataway and the manager is always ready to help in any situation even providing toys to play with in the conservatory for our 5-year-old grandson who had come (with his Mum - Gran's granddaughter) from the USA for a special visit. We have always been helped by the staff who every time are willing to go the extra mile when it comes to arranging a visit to see Gran.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and management, they have cared and supported my mother-in-law since she became a resident. Cannot praise them high enough. She always seems happy there and her only complaint is too much food, but she still manages to eat it all.
Where do I start? Firstly, get the manager talking to powers that be in the care system and her direct manner will help in getting things on track and restore faith in the care vulnerable people deserve. All the carers I met and spoke to seemed to enjoy their job and I’m told staff retention is over seven years at Chataway Care Home! Wow. My dad spent his final weeks there and for the first time, I was relaxed and safe in the knowledge he was safe, warm and cared for. A professional attitude in a loving care home is the answer and Chataway had this in abundance. Thank you to the manager and her wonderful team.
I cannot speak more highly of Chataway Care Home. After a difficult time navigating the social care home system, getting our father into here was like him coming home. The manager and her staff go above and beyond to ensure every resident in their care is treated with the utmost respect, dignity and compassion. This professionalism extends to visitors and family too. The home is always clean, welcoming and just little things like Dad having his teeth cleaned, hair combed, clean clothes and bedding whenever we visited made all the difference - sadly things that don’t happen in many places. Towards the end, the manager and her staff were always available and I personally found their help and advice so helpful. Thank you so much every one of you for restoring my faith in the care system.
Mum passed away in this amazing home from home. She was cared for by people who showed the utmost love and attention. Alzheimer's is a horrible disease and we were baffled as to the care needed. We learnt a lot from Mum's carers and we are eternally grateful to them. Thank you to the manager and all your lovely staff for everything you did for Mum. Chataway is a clean homely care home where everyone is one big happy family.
I cannot praise this home enough. They are all amazing. I’ve told the care manager she must never retire! This is not just a ‘care home’ this is a family. Each and every resident is treated with dignity and love and the care is second to none despite the obvious challenges and sometimes violent behaviour that sadly comes with severe dementia. Even our GPs tell us you’d have to travel a million miles to find a better place. Little things they do to ensure the residents feel at home. Nothing is too much trouble. So proactive. We have three family members in Chataway Care Home that we visit regularly. The difference in them since they’ve been residents is amazing. They have a good colour, they’ve all put weight on, they smell lovely. Hair styled, nails painted, clothes all matching and always their own clothes. My mum had to go into another home when she first came out of hospital and it was dreadful. I thank God every day that I’ve got my family in. I could wax lyrical! Thank you so very much.
My mum entered this care home in November 2020 and she has been very well cared for. I am so grateful for everything they have done for her, they keep me very well updated with everything that's going on and all the staff do an amazing job.
Dad has been in Chataway Care Home now for two years. It has been a very difficult time for everyone. With all the restrictions that have been in place, it hasn’t been easy for us as a family, Dad is such a special part of our lives. We are so grateful for the extra special care Dad has received from all of the staff. They have always put Dad's well-being first and they have always given him extra support and love beyond their duty. I would highly recommend Chataway to take care of your loved ones, they are treated as part of a family.
My mum had a bad fall and needed a care home. Luckily a space came up at Chataway. I’m so glad it did as the place is amazing. With Covid, I couldn’t settle my mum in which was very sad for me. The manager and all the care staff did a wonderful job of settling her in. They made me feel so much better. They sat her near the window so we could come to see her every day. The carers go above and beyond for my mum who is so happy and very well cared for. Nothing is too much trouble. I would definitely recommend this care home as it is very high quality. Thanks again Chataway team for looking after my mum.
I cannot thank Chataway Care Home enough for the care that is given to my grandad. The manager and her staff are so attentive to all the residents. The home is clean and very homely. My grandad's room is a replica of his own home with pictures and small pieces of his own furniture. All extremely important. We are all safe in the knowledge that Grandad’s health and wellbeing is always at the top of the list, but at times like this when we cannot visit as we would like, Chataway share photos on Facebook a with us all. They have great activities every day and to see my grandad enjoying these each day is so wonderful. He is happy, so happy. There is genuine love in this house, it should be called Chataway Love Home not care home.
Chataway Care Home is excellently and expertly run by the manager and her staff. The staff are all thoughtful, caring and attentive. The home is clean and safe. The residents all seem happy and are often smiling and laughing away. The manager is so strict about Covid infection control protocols that have been put in place for everyone’s safety and wellbeing. It became obvious that Auntie needed care and she was initially adamant that she didn't want to give up her bungalow but she absolutely loves the companionship and stimulation that she receives from her fellow residents and staff. You are all angels in the way you show such care and treat everyone with such dignity and respect.
