View Full Details of Highbury Residential HomeMy mother has been in Highbury for 3 weeks now and we are very satisfied with the care and attention that she has received so far. The manager is very concerned that the home gives the very best service. The staff are all friendly and my mother says that overall she is very satisfied. If things continue like this we will all be very happy and would recommend this home to anyone.
The staff are so wonderful, very caring and attentive. The food is very good too.
Highbury has a relaxed but caring atmosphere nothing seems too much trouble for the staff and managers. I have been very impressed by the personal touches added to the care. The home is thoughtfully decorated and this adds to the overall ambiance of the surroundings. I feel very lucky that my parents were able to gain places at Highbury.
My mum spent six weeks in Highbury following her discharge from hospital. The home provided first-class respite care as she continued her recovery from ill health until she was ready to return home. What I observed during my mum’s stay was the care and compassion shown towards her and fellow residents by every staff member. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were excellently led by the manager.
Highbury Residential Home has looked after and cared for my nan to a very high standard, the staff are always friendly to residents and visiting family members. My nan has often said that she feels well looked after which puts our minds at rest that she is settled and happy at Highbury. The recent redecoration of the communal areas really brightens the place up and the garden is also looking great for residents to enjoy. The visiting entertainers (bands, keyboard players etc) are also lovely touch for the residents to enjoy. I would have no hesitation to recommend Highbury Residential Home to others.
My wife has Alzheimer's, however, she knows me by sight and loves to sing along to 70s/80s songs on my visits. She seems at home and settled most times, still says she's got to go home to her mum on most visits but is very well looked after and seems happy in her surroundings.
I have both my mum and an aunty who live at Highbury. I cannot fault the care and attention they have received. The staff are brilliant, I have got to know them quite well as I have been visiting for about 3 years now. They are very friendly, always make you welcome, love you to visit and always have a chat and update you with any concerns. I know things are a little different at the moment but normally I see the residents enjoying light exercise classes, crafts and singing. They have their fingernails painted and hair and feet done regularly. The food looks lovely and I see the rooms being cleaned regularly. I couldn't wish for them to be in a better place.
My mum had to move into Highbury at the end of August as her health was deteriorating. She had lived with us for several years and it was a hard decision to make. We chose Highbury as it seemed very "home" like and not overcrowded. The staff were brilliant, always made you feel welcome when you visited and nothing was too much trouble. The food was really good and I ate there some days myself. The home always looked clean. We could take mums personal items for her bedroom. It didn't matter what time we turned up to visit or when we wanted to take mum out everyone was always helpful. They have a lovely garden and if they are able residents can go out whenever they want to. Mum had her hair done once a week in the home and there were a couple of parties for Halloween and Christmas. Although mum passed away just before Christmas its a shame she never got to see the garden in summer. If I had to choose a home again I would still choose Highbury.
