View Full Details of Huntingdon CourtThe care my mum has received since coming here has been second to none. All the staff have been so helpful, friendly and courteous. I would not hesitate in recommending Huntingdon Court and cannot thank them enough for everything they have done and are continuing to do!
Overall I'm very happy with the care my mother receives at Huntingdon Court. The staff are always polite, attentive to my mother's needs, competent and compassionate. There are always different activities happening, the well-being activities coordinator is a staff and should be recognised for the work that she does. I know working in the care/nursing sector can be so challenging at times but I feel all staff try their best to make a difference.
My husband has been a resident at Huntingdon Court since September and in that time he has been extremely well looked after. The entire team genuinely make every effort to ensure his needs are met. Every member of staff from management to carers, kitchen staff, domestics and laundry knows and treats him and his fellow residents with care, respect and compassion. Always on the ball when it comes to the right time to call in the professional services e.g. Doctors, SALTS, District Nurse, ensuring I am aware/involved. Links with GP surgery are very good. Always welcoming when I visit.
How this care home has so many good reviews is beyond me, frankly the place should be shut down in my opinion. The photos at the top of this review page are not of this care home, the interior looks nothing like this, the home is dated and in desperate need of refurbishment and modernisation, they say a picture paints a thousand words, these pictures are painting a thousand lies. My relative has managed 10 days before we've taken the decision to remove them from the home, for a person with Alzheimer's the deterioration they've had in the last week has been unbelievable compared to several months prior in their own and relatives homes. The food in inedible, most of the carers are more interested in their mobile phones than actually looking after residents, the have little engagement with the residents and some of them, who I will refrain from naming here, are downright rude. Residents personal belongings regularly go missing or are "lent" to other people without permission!
Mum was transferred to Huntingdon Court in November 2023 after Covid and associated infections left her unable to walk and needing 24/7 care. The staff were very kind, patient and understanding. Mum settled in well and we were very happy with the standard of care she was given. It really says a lot about a Care Home when you can visit at any time and are always made to feel welcome. We even got to decorate Mum's bedroom and fitted it out with new curtains and duvet. It was lovely that she at last got to have family photos on display. Unfortunately Mum passed away unexpectedly in February 2024. The staff were again very kind and helpful, and we cannot thank them enough.
Having moved my sister from her previous care home to Huntingdon Court we both couldn't be happier, it's a clean and welcoming facility with lovely carers who never find it too much trouble to do whatever you ask of them. All the residents look clean and cared for and the food is really good, especially the cakes. It may not be the poshest care home but it's beautifully clean and definitely one of the sweeter-smelling places. Her stay was going to be respite only but two weeks in and she's decided to make it her home.
Was a bit concerned when I read the CQC report but went and viewed the property and agreed with his daughter that he should go there. From when we moved my brother in the care that he received was outstanding. We went to see him at different times of day and night and the care was very good. Unfortunately my brother has now passed away and I would like to thank all the staff that looked after him thank you all very much for the care you showed my brother
Wow what a transformation. I felt the home lacked a homely feel, now that most of the rooms here have been decorated with that lovely homely feel. It's so nice to see photos of the service users when I visited my relation. The activities coordinator is always interacting playing games also taking service users out. It's so lovely to also see the service users celebrate birthdays.
Excellent care given to my mum. The staff are so loving and caring and dedicate their time to making sure all the residents feel safe and comfortable. Mum is always dressed nicely and she is now so relaxed and happy. Lots of activities for the residents to do. All staff are so dedicated and deserve full recognition of all their hard work.
My dad moved into Huntingdon Court about a year ago. The management changed and the current management team and administrator are first class. They are knowledgeable, approachable and reactive. The carers/team leaders are knowledgeable, skilled and kind, looking after Dad as an individual, and providing a high level of care. The activities coordinator is fantastic, working really hard to provide a wide range of daily activities and special occasion entertainment. My family is made very welcome and it feels like a family home to all of us. The cleaning/laundry are all carried out to a high standard. There is a ready supply of beautifully cooked food, always tailored to Dad’s current nutritional needs. The home was tired a year ago but that is improving with redecoration of the lounge, cinema room and visitor’s room. Further rooms are shortly to be updated. Most importantly there is a sense of homeliness and a real desire from management and all staff to look after dad. He’s very happy
My mother needed to go into care as her mental condition deteriorated, and Huntingdon Court was the chosen care home by social services due to the urgency. My wife, a retired NHS matron, researched the latest CQC report, which did not make good reading or fill us with confidence. However, the manager of the home during my mother's assessment prior to admission did not shy away from the CQC criticism when questioned, responding in a positive and enthusiastic manner that gave us reassurance. I can honestly say, having visited my mother several times in the home, that the Huntingdon Court environment is one of total warmth, professionalism and genuine loving care for the residents that have had a remarkably positive effect on my mother, who suffers from dementia. Well done, Huntingdon team, for all your hard work!
After losing my mum and my dad having dementia, we needed somewhere safe and welcoming. The staff at Huntingdon Court are absolutely amazing. He has a lovely, cosy room, and with the downstairs lounges, he can sit and be involved with other residents and staff or sit in the quieter lounge and enjoy peace without being alone. Thank you so much - a massive weight lifted.
This home is very tired and the rooms are small with only a sink. With money spent, it could be a lot better. The staff are excellent.
The staff at Hunting Court are exceptional. All are helpful, friendly and accommodating. From the delicious smells around meal times, I would say the food is very good and I have been offered to partake on many occasions, but haven't been able to stay. The place itself, unfortunately, is very dated. The rooms would be better with Jack and Jill bathrooms between rooms, as opposed to them having just a sink in each room and everyone having to share with everyone. Would be possible in my opinion. The building is big enough. The garden is a little unkempt, only bits being done by residents' families. The common rooms are lovely with seating enough for all residents to watch TV together, sing-song, play games etc. There is always fresh fruit and juice or tea and coffee available on the side in these areas. The visiting rooms however are sparse and not very inviting. There have been management issues for a good while, but I have been informed that problems have been sorted, and things are being put in place to improve the interior etc. Care is more important than anything, which is what is ample here. Will be fabulous with renovations.
My father has been very happy here, everyone has been wonderful to him. We're very grateful for everything they do for him. Thank you.
Find staff very friendly and helpful.
MY aunt has resided at Huntingdon Court Loughborough for the last four years. She loved being at the home where she was really well cared for by wonderful staff. Toward the end of her stay when her health deteriorated she was so cared for and they did everything to make her comfortable. She was so happy there.
The manager and her staff are very helpful, attentive and caring. The home is very clean and organized.
Great staff. Very clean. Looked after my mother very well. Good food and rooms.
My sister and I have always been pleased with the care that Mum has received at the home. The staff are all kind and friendly when we phone or visit in person. She is always clean and tidy in her appearance. Although her room is a little dated, to us that does not matter. Her care and well being comes first and that's what she receives at the home. My only concern is that they seem to be short-staffed at times given that most of the residents have Alzheimer's dementia and I think their needs are greater at times.
