View Full Details of Langdale House Care HomeMy uncle was moved from hospital to Langdale House for end of life care in mid-October. From the moment he arrived, the staff made sure that he was comfortable and was given individualised care. I was also supported by the staff from his admission to his passing in mid-November. Nothing was too much for the staff. Advice and support plus a shoulder to literally cry on was there in spades. I can not fault the home at all and I have seen and visited many homes as a retired NHS Clinical Specialist Nurse in Dementia care. I would recommend the home to anyone who wishes their family member or friend to have the best person-centred care. Thank you again to all the staff.
My uncle arrived at Langdale Sapcote in February 2021, at first he was very unsettled but the team soon helped him settle in and now he sees it as his home. The staff go above and beyond in their help and assistance to him and us as a family. We are kept up to date on everything concerning my uncle and visit weekly and are always met with smiling caring faces. We can't express our love and thanks to everyone there and one lady who makes a lovely cup of coffee!
This care home is warm and welcoming, the staff are smiley and friendly, they engage with the residents well. The lady I visit feels happy and comfortable with the carers. The home is clean, and tidy and smells nice, the food looks good. She is cared for well here.
My father has been in Langdale House for almost two years now. During this time we have found the care to be excellent. The staff are cheerful, helpful and really connect with the residents. As a very reluctant resident to begin with, Dad feels very much at home now. The food is homemade and very good. The nurses, carers and management are very caring and professional at the same time. The activities are imaginative and engaging with wonderful musical guests. Thank you for such a caring family atmosphere and home.
Always a pleasure to visit my husband as the staff are so pleasant and helpful. Always a smiling face to greet me. Good to see that the residents are not only cared for physically but also mentally with varied activities arranged during the week to stimulate their minds. Thank you.
Langdale House provided excellent care for my father in the last few months of his life. He had late stages of vascular dementia when he arrived at Langdale having been hospitalised prior to that for five weeks. He was very agitated when he first arrived but the staff all treated him with compassion, dignity and with his personal care first and foremost. This included one-on-one care, a medical review and taking time to understand who he was and what he enjoyed doing. We as a family could not have asked for better care, support or communication, it's a nursing care home in every sense of the word.
As usual, I received a warm welcome from staff and residents when I came in for our monthly service. The residents were all calm and settled and they enjoyed joining in with the singing and the Lord’s Prayer. The area where we hold the service is always clean and looks bright and welcoming. I really enjoy my visits, thank you!
Staff always very polite and nothing is too much trouble to resolve and put right. My mum in my opinion has had fantastic care and has been very happy here. Langdale House is the next best thing. Thank you.
My mother-in-law has vascular dementia and has very challenging behaviour. All the staff are wonderful and she seems happy there. Wouldn't want her to be anywhere else, as from past experience with the hospital and another care home she was in which was awful we are so happy that she is in Langdale House being cared for so well... Couldn't wish for better staff. They all do an amazing job.
Thanks so much to everyone at Langdale House for a wonderful Christmas party. All the staff go way above and beyond to make the residents and their families feel welcome, be a part of a big family and enjoy such a wonderful atmosphere where we know our loved ones are being looked after. I have visited many care homes in my working life but have to say Langdale House is far superior to anything I have experienced in the past. Thanks again, it really is a joy to spend time with all of you.
My dad has been in Langdale now since early 2023, despite his extremely difficult demands the staff continue to offer top-class care. Nothing is ever too much trouble, no matter what time I visit I am always met with a warm welcome and smile, I get a full update on Dad which is great to hear. The staff are constantly on the go but always find the time for each and every resident. We have been invited to join them on so many occasions and they really pushed the boat out for Dad's recent big birthday. I hope you all know how amazing you are, thank you to each and every one of you. Well done team.
Am truly happy with my mum's care, wouldn't want her anywhere else, staff are amazing, polite, and always willing to help. Various events and activities. Well done all.
My dad has been in Langdale House since the new year and I can honestly say that each month he has been here he is more settled. The staff are kind and thoughtful to all of the residents. I can highly recommend Langdale House to anyone looking to place their relative in a care home. 100% confidence in their work ethic and how they look after all the residents. Excellent on all counts - meals, care and activities. I would like to reiterate everything my daughter has written. My husband is in the best care I could wish for.
I have full respect for management and staff alike in very difficult circumstances. The care is top quality. All the people who I have been in contact with show excellent qualities. Very professional and caring.
Every time I visit it is a joy. The atmosphere is so friendly and welcoming. My husband is extremely well looked after. Nothing but praise can I give. The staff are second to none. Thank you for what you all do.
The staff are helpful, caring and attentive and always go above and beyond for our father's care needs.
First-class. A very clean and homely care home. The staff are so caring towards my husband. Nothing is too much trouble. I also get a warm welcome with coffee when I arrive to see my husband. Activities are amazing; lots of things for residents to join in and keep them involved. An excellent rapport in all areas of the home.
After visiting mum for the last sixteen months, and being very happy with her care, last Saturday was her 100th birthday and the manager and staff pull out all the stops and made her day very special! They worked hard to make us as a family very welcome too!
Attended the home to visit my grandma for her 100th birthday celebrations. The food and celebrations put on were fantastic. The singer came and sang to grandma. All the staff were attentive and caring throughout.
My 74 years old wife has been at Langdale House for several years and suffers from Frontal Lobe Dementia which has changed her from being a caring and quiet SRN to an often angry and rude resident who can also be nasty too. Despite this, the dedicated and caring staff team at Langdale House care for her and most importantly keep her safe for us which I can't manage at home because of my own disability! All of our family are so grateful for the perseverance of the team who often manage to achieve the impossible with regard to persuading her to eat, drink, keep clean etc., even when she point blank refuses to do any of those things! Over the last year, they have managed to keep her fully vaccinated against Covid including doing her boosters when needed! They have recently managed to persuade her to agree to have her hair washed, cut and blow-dried by the visiting hairdresser even after she had originally angrily said no. They then kindly sent me a photo of her with the result!
