View Full Details of Rose CottageMum was extremely ill just prior to Christmas with multiple health issues. Having been discharged from hospital in a frail condition I knew she would receive all the care and TLC she deserved but it was a big ask for her to fully recover. My faith in the GP and the excellent care of competent well trained and empathetic staff had Mum on the road to recovery. They gave Mum such confidence in herself. The way to have a good Home is a complex recipe to follow. Rose Cottage has a good mix of staff with different skill sets. The management is obviously in control of the training and following that training into continuous supervision. Rose Cottage has a warm welcoming atmosphere with cheerful staff. Mum feels safe and at home in her environment, surrounded by new 'family' and new friends to keep her interests and conversation going. Residents interact well, some with prompts from staff and encouragement from Activity staff who organise activities to stimulate body and mind.
I would like to acknowledge the Manager, Staff, and Residents of Rose Cottage. My experience of the home is that it is extremely well-run. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. The standard of care is professional and also kind, which is very important to my mother. As a small home, residents are known individually and their preferences and needs are catered for, as well as their medical conditions. Regular activities are provided to keep residents interested and creative. The premises are kept immaculately clean and always in excellent decorative order. The Manager has worked hard to create a lovely, uplifting, and homely environment and her staff work as an integrated team, often going beyond the call of duty to help. I was thrilled when my mother was able to get a place at Rose Cottage last year when she needed professional care, as she has lived in Mountsorrel for 40 years and told us that it is the only care home in the area she would be willing to be in.
My sister is happy at Rose Cottage Care Home as much as she can be. This is now her fifth year of staying at Rose Cottage but it's been extremely difficult for her coming to terms with her disabilities. She was previously active and lived in the home she loved and was completely independent, having a stroke has turned her life upside down as mentally she is fine, she has no signs of memory loss, but her mobility is poor.
Going to Rose Cottage is a pleasure; the staff are so lovely. Nothing is too much trouble, and my auntie is very happy there.
Rose Cottage is a super, top-notch residential care home. Our (92 years young) mum has been lucky enough to stay here for two years and she’s thriving. All staff are totally caring, friendly and professional. The residents’ care is at the forefront of all decisions made. Families are frequently updated on news and resident reviews. Every resident has a key worker who is in regular contact with family. During the covid pandemic, the extra understanding and extra care received (and still receiving) was/is second to none. The delicious home-cooked food is prepared fresh, daily. During the lockdown, the ice cream van and fish and chip van arrived, regularly, and lifted morale for all. Frequent games, activities, entertainment, the hairdresser and chiropodist are all enjoyed by our mum, who calls Rose Cottage her home. A really massive thank you to everyone at Rose Cottage, we totally appreciate everything you do to help our mum each and every day, totally appreciated. Best wishes.
