View Full Details of Tillson HouseVery happy with the home, all of the staff are super friendly, caring and helpful, in what can't be an easy job. The staff create a lovely calm atmosphere, and all the residents look well cared for. Lovely activities they put on for residents too, from puzzles to singers, a good variety. and the food always smells really good. Think it's a great place.
My dad had a week's respite care at this home. During his say, he received excellent care and attention. The carers went above and beyond to meet all his needs. All the meals he had while he was there were excellent, with plenty of choice. All the carers and staff were very friendly and made him feel very welcome. On the morning I came to take him home, he was sad to leave, I think that speaks for itself as to the fabulous carers/staff at this home.
After a recent stay in hospital we needed to find somewhere for her stay where she could be looked after. I always thought my Mum would never go into a care home but I had to put her best interests first and find somewhere worthy of my Mum. I called Tillson House after searching homes in my area and was instantly reassured that I was making the right decision and that my Mum would be looked after. After a fortnight in Tillson House the change in my Mum is brilliant she loves all the staff and the food! and she is treated with dignity and respect. I visit her every day usually twice a day and I have found every member of staff, other residents and their families all very friendly and welcoming. I have no concerns or doubts my Mum's not in the best place for her needs. If Tillson House did holidays I'd be booking in for a week!
All the staff at Tilson House are truly amazing I would call them Angels in uniform. My mum passed away in December after fighting dementia. For 5 weeks mum laid in her bed and every day they looked after her needs I sat by my mum's side and not only did they care for my mum but also me a simple hug, smile or a cup of tea means the world when you don’t know what’s happening. The way they cared for my mum was beautiful, nothing was too much to ask for and quite often staff would come in on their days off just to see how things were. Fast forward to the day my mum gained her Angel wings, it’s a day that will stay with me forever and it was almost like the staff scooped me up. They all stood and bowed their heads as mum passed on the hospital bed such a lovely sign of respect it truly was something I’ll never forget. Thank you Tilson House from the the bottom of my heart for all you do.
The staff were helpful and attentive to the residents, and even though the Tillson House is a little tired, it's very friendly and homely. My father said the food was good and the bed comfortable. His room had been recently decorated and was very light and bright.
My dad has been residing at Tillson House since April 2022. The staff are truly amazing, they make sure my dad is cared for well and they take time to assist him both physically and emotionally. The staff are welcoming at all times and any request I make gets done. At all times they show both residents and their families compassion and respect. I am at ease and can sleep at night in the knowledge that my dad's needs are met. The food is home cooked and if I visit at meal times I am offered a meal to enjoy with him. There are some areas in the home that look a little tired, but this is being addressed. The new dining room looks lovely and homely. There are often themed activities for the residents to join, such as external singers coming for a good sing-along, residents families are often invited to attend too. Tillson House is clean and always smells fresh upon arrival. It is a home-from-home and cosy environment. From what I see when I visit, all residents are treated as individuals
My wife has just spent two nights respite here to give me a little break. I couldn’t fault it at all. From dropping her off to picking her up, the staff all made her feel so welcome, including me. The other residents all seemed happy and came to say goodbye to her when I picked her up, which was lovely. She really enjoyed her stay and cried when leaving. It felt like one big family there, and I will definitely use this home in the future and recommend it to others. Thank you.
I'm a resident at Tillson House and was admitted here from hospital in February 2022. I love it here. It's like a home from home and the food is very good. I have a nice room and I enjoy taking part in the activities. The staff are very helpful and I've made lots of friends here. The home is currently being decorated. The manager and deputy have good ideas to improve the home further.
I have had a very good experience with the team face to face and with communication via telephone. When visiting my mother, she always looks happy and well cared for. Might have been all 5 stars but due to covid, actual reviews are limited because of not being able to look around the home inside.
I have found the home to be a lovely ‘home away from home’ for my father. He has been a resident for some time now and he seems as settled as he possibly can be there with his circumstances. The carers are all lovely and very caring towards him. Sadly, due to the restrictions from covid, it’s difficult to know truly how he has settled with other residents as I only see him on his own.
My sister appears well cared for and happy with Tillson House care home. They are very quick to advise of any problems and they keep me up to date on any procedures required for my sister which they then arrange. They answer any questions promptly and put into action any agreements we jointly make. Very pleased my sister is with them- I feel she is much safer being cared for by the staff who are always very pleasant. It’s very nice to see her fed, clean and dressed nicely and in safe accommodation- and they put a smile on her face.
My wife has been a resident at Tillson House since March 2018. She seems happy in herself although suffering from Alzheimer's disease. I appreciate the care the staff give her- she always looks clean and I'm told she eats well. Internally the home is well maintained. The outside curb appeal is in need of some refurbishment.
My opinion of Tilson House is good all the way through. It is always clean and smells fresh. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Management is helpful and the staff are trained well. Food always looks good and my husband always says the food is very tasty and plenty of it.
Very happy with how my mum is being cared for and communication with family during the lockdown. I enjoy seeing photos of the activities on offer on Facebook. My mum always seems happy, well-fed and clean. The carers are amazing at this difficult time.
Before my mother made the decision to stay permanently in Tillson House, she was very confused and lonely since losing my dad in July 2020. Now she's never been so active with the themed nights and social events. She's a lot more talkative as well. Never has a bad word to say about the staff, who just can't do enough for her.
All staff are supportive. Respectfully engaging with service users. The home appears and smells clean. Staff are approachable. The exterior of the home could possibly be improved. Food looks/smells delicious. Bathrooms are clean.
Mum's been at Tillson House since June of this year, after a spell of 4 weeks in 2 different hospitals. It did take her some time to adjust as she's always been fiercely independent but got to that stage that she wasn't safe to care for herself without my support. She was having toileting problems and intermittent falling issues and needed someone there 24/7. I'm not saying these things don't occur now, but at least there's someone on hand to support her. She always says that the staff are lovely and seems to accept that this is her forever home. It just happened as Coronavirus took hold.
My mum has been a resident at Tillson House since 2018. She has been extremely happy throughout that time. Tillson House and all it's staff are incredibly kind and patient with residents. Mum enjoys the meals and takes part in activities. Her mental and emotional wellbeing are much improved since living here. It is a pleasant, comfortable environment.
My Dad has been a resident at Tillson House now for a number of years. I have always found the staff to be incredibly caring and that gives me great peace of mind. They try and fulfil any requests, for example, I have brought DVD’s in to play and we have watched together on a big screen. The food has been excellent and they accommodate his changing needs. I would especially like to acknowledge during COVID-19 and lockdown how difficult it is for me not being able to visit him, however, I have received a card with a photo of him to show he is doing ok and had video calls with him. (His changing needs means he is unable to operate a mobile himself). I’ve found Tillson to be clean and they have refurbished areas to make them homely.
My mum moved here in May 2019 and seems very happy and settled really well. She is always clean and tidy. Mum eats really well since being here and can visit whenever we want. Staff always friendly and ready to help with anything we need for mum.
