View Full Details of Westroyd House Care HomeMy Mum has been in Westroyd House for 3 months now and I have visited several times a week. I have found her to be happy and well cared for each time. The staff are always welcoming and friendly and have been a real support to me, as well as to my mum. She has found new friends and enjoys a great relationship with staff and residents. Overall I am very happy with the care that mum receives at Westroyd House.
After the sudden closure of mum's previous care home in January we were delighted to find Westroyd and we couldn't be happier. Mum has a lovely room, she really likes the home and the staff and her mental health and anxiety has as improved considerably under their care and encouragement. They always have time to talk to us as a family and we all feel supported in mums care. They took time to listen to mum and got to know and understand her as a person. The move to a new home was huge for mum and very distressing but with support and compassion from the whole team she quickly settled. The building is always clean and inviting, there are activities and good food choices. She is now happy, safe, comfortable, treated with dignity and understanding, and very well cared for.
I'd like to thank all the staff for looking after mum. They do a great job in looking after my mum in lots of ways. If my mum is unwell at anytime they call a doctor to visit which then I know they are really looking after her.Nothing is to much trouble.
Dad looked very well when we visited him. The staff are very friendly and nothing is ever too much for them. The manager always has her door open and I always pop by to say hello and ask how my dad has been. They are like one big family at Westroyd Care Home.
The home is very clean and tidy. Staff are very efficient and always on hand to help resident's with whatever they need. The management are excellent and keep relatives informed about residents progress.
STAFF The staff continue to be excellent. FOOD The standard of food has rapidly gone down recently leading to mother and I understand other residents to complain. When mother complained, the chef said he was operating from instruction from "head office" . One case in point was that for the mid day main meal she had one brussel sprout on her plate. I'm sure you appreciate that a good balanced diet with plenty of fresh vegetables helps to keep residents more heathy. This decline is surprising bearing in mind we have just had a very substantial increase in fees. DRIVEWAY. As reported previously the driveway down to the building is full of pot holes (when in contact with the managed we are told that this is reported regularly, obviously action being taken)
The care that my relative has had at Westroyd has been outstanding from the time they first arrived here over 2 years ago. In the last year the building has undergone some significant improvements which have greatly enhanced the living experience and this has been noticeable to see, all of the areas, including rooms are spotlessly clean always. In truth though it is the staff that really make the place from the manager all the way through to the care staff, cleaning, activities and kitchen staff. Everyone is always pleasant and talkative on even what I'm sure are very trying days and this has been greatly appreciated. I am extremely grateful for the kindness and support I have had most recently at what can only be described as the most trying time of all. Knowing that all of the staff have been there whatever is something that a thank you is not adequate enough to say but in any case, thank you!
My father has been at Westroyd for nearly 3 years now. We are extremely happy with the facility and all the staff are excellent and go above and beyond in the care shown. There are plenty of opportunities for friends and family to join events and we have been more than happy with all aspects of the care received. Recent refurbishment has made it even better.
Westroyd House Care Home in Shepshed has been amazing with my mother and her continuing care. They have been amazing at keeping us updated on any issues and on her condition. Due to her condition she believes she is working there and they go out of their way to make her feel like an integral part of the team while keeping her and the rest of the residents safe and happy. They are welcoming and help us when anything occurs that we are not sure about.
It is the absolute hardest decision for a family to make to seek out a care home for a loved one. From our initial inquiry we have received nothing but compassion, empathy, care and professionalism. Westroyd House is kept exceptionally clean and all of the dedicated staff work so hard to make it 'homely' and every resident is treated as 'family'. What you see is what you get, with total transparency. Transition into the home is done on an individual basis and as needs changed, and we have been kept fully informed throughout the process. If I could rate this higher than 5 stars then I would. Thank you all so much for the care that you give to our dad, grandad and husband, you are all angels!
My brother enjoys his stay at the home, he is well looked after in all aspects of his care. He gets on well with the members of staff at all levels, they all greet him fondly and are genuinely interested in his well-being. He particularly enjoys his meal times and the choice and quality of his food. His room is always clean, neat and tidy. He interacts with the other residents where they can! I received a monthly newsletter and I am kept informed of any issues. I tend to visit my brother once a week and so see the staff in action.
My dad moved into Westroyd in November. The staff are full of cheer, always smiling, uber supportive, nothing is ever too much trouble and my dad and ourselves are treated like family. The honesty in approach is fabulous, we have been kept up to date with his settling-in process at every stage with full disclosure which has reduced our worries and given us complete trust and faith in carers. My dad and ourselves are always treated with dignity and respect with no judgement. We have been better educated about my dad's condition than when we were when relying solely on GPs and Consultants. This has helped us to know how best to interact with and support my dad. The fact that all residents and staff are always smiling tells me everything I need to know about how fabulous the Westroyd team are.
My Husband has been part of the Westroyde family since November 2024. I am so happy he is living in this happy caring home. He is settled and so well cared for. Thank you so much for your care and dedication, would recommend you all to anyone.
Mum has been in the home for a while and thoroughly enjoys her time there. The entertainment and events in December were particularly good. She enjoys her meals (as did I when I had Christmas dinner) and she is well looked after.
My Dad moved to Westroyd last year and from day 1 was made to feel so welcome. There is a definite vibe of homeliness and the staff treat the residents with kindness and respect. The food is excellent and there are plenty of opportunities for families to gather with loved ones at regular social events.
Dad has been in Westroyd for over a year now and I am delighted with how he's settled in. All the staff are attentive and professional, his needs are always met swiftly and there's a lovely atmosphere where Dad can have a laugh and enjoy his days. He is always happy with the food served and from what I see there's a great variety of dishes and menus. The senior team and managers are accessible and clearly provide strong leadership to the rest of the team. His room is large, there are plenty of storage cupboards and it is cleaned regularly. The whole home has recently been redecorated and it has a large common room with plenty of chairs for residents. I sleep much easier knowing that Dad is in a safe place, well-catered and well-cared for.
Our mother has been at Westroyd Care Home for over two years now. It's a lovely care home. Staff wonderful. Place is clean and food looks lovely. It's a weight off our minds. As we know how well Mum is being cared for. I do tell everyone how happy we are. And Mum loves the staff. Her health has improved so much. All I can say is thank you.
Very caring staff. Encourage residents to be active. Amazing care and always happy to speak to relatives and work with them and the residents to get the best possible results. The local GP practice give an amazing service as well.
A warm friendly atmosphere, staff always happy to help. Any questions answered. Rooms are surprisingly larger than you think. All clean and tidy. Ample parking for visitors. My mum seems very happy and at ease here.
My grandmother has settled in very well here, having tried other care homes this is by far the best one we have been to. Always clean and tidy. Friendly and helpful staff. I always bring my young children with me and the staff really make us feel welcome.
