View Full Details of Woodway HouseMy mother resided on Woodway House for almost a year needing 24 hour care. The management of the home was excellent in all aspects, always taking care of any problem that may have risen, caring about our needs as a family as well as Mum's. The staff too, always went the extra step with her. Mum was always taken care of in a warm caring manner at all times and felt comfortable there, with everyone. I was always contented to be at home and know she was being well looked after. Sadly she passed away recently, but I would have no hesitation to recommend the home to anyone who needs to know their loved one if safe and being looked after well.
Woodway House is a very welcoming home for both residents and relatives. The staff are kind and helpful, they are happy to listen to any concerns and ensure that we are fully informed about changes to Mum's health. Managers are always available. The home really does feel like home. It is comfortable and efficient without feeling regimented. The food is extremely good and staff are always prepared to offer residents the food that they enjoy when possible.
My mum-in-law has been in Woodway House for the last 10 months and I can only describe the care she has received as excellent. The staff are all so very caring and have endless knowledge of the needs of the residents in their care. Management, carers, kitchen staff and cleaners are all so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I am so pleased that my mum-in-law had the opportunity to stay here and I would like to thank all concerned that she's had the opportunity to do so.
My mum's care at Woodway has been excellent. The whole atmosphere of the home is warm and welcoming. The staff are professional, efficient and very kind and respectful. The food is excellent, varied and nutritious and Mum's needs are fully met. I am and will be eternally grateful to all at Woodway for their continued care and support.
I am pleased to say that our lovely mum has had a very good experience staying at Woodway House Blaby. Thanks to the quality of kindness from all the staff. We had a change of circumstances without our family (a move to Suffolk). So as to not leave mum behind, with the help and understanding, Woodway made this transition possible with the smoothest result, and at 97 I think this stands up for an excellent care home. Humble thanks Woodway House Blaby.
This was my third stay (for 1 week) and each time has been a great experience. I was nervous the first time but I need not have worried because I got excellent care and made a couple of good friends as well. The staff are so good, nothing is too much trouble and I always feel very safe.
It was a huge decision to take our mum out of her family home where she was receiving 24-hour care at the age of 91. Other than her being isolated it was perfect. The idea of Woodway House was to provide the care, medical and social needs for our mum and I can wholeheartedly say that it met those needs on so many levels at various times throughout her stay. The personal care, interaction cleanliness and medical support were amazing. Management was second to none. Would highly recommend the care home.
My mum has been living here since June 2021. Most of the staff are very good, attentive, patient etc. The food and drink seem to be good and varied. The management team are very good and support the whole family, not just the residents. My only concern is the room my mother is in. The room is very dated, needs painting, a new carpet and furniture. The lighting is very poor. Needs updating!
My mum has been a resident of Woodway House for over 7 years now, she is always clean and tidy and they make sure that her clothes are coordinated as that’s how she was always dressed before needing care. The staff and management are really good and very good to my mum, ensuring that her needs are always met. They are also very welcoming to us when we visit. I’m glad we chose Woodway for her care, knowing she’s safe and close by is reassuring.
My mum is a resident at Woodway she has been there for just over a year since she has been there she has thrived. The manager and her staff are so caring and I can honestly say I cannot fault them. My mum is always clean and tidy and well looked after. I am so pleased we chose this care home for her.
Our Mum originally went to Woodway House for assessment of her needs during the pandemic, due to a number of falls at home which she needed hospital treatment. After a short time there it was obvious that Mum was much happier, less worried and more contented, she said how well she was looked after and she loved the homemade food. We were unable to visit inside at this time but we were able to arrange window visits. We are now able to go inside to see her, obviously with PPE and a negative test. Although the surroundings are a little dated, I can’t thank the manager and her team enough for their professionalism and caring approach to every single resident. My Mum is treated with dignity and kindness every day and tells us she can’t say a bad word about any of the staff, she loves them all. They are always so cheery when you go in and interested in the whole family not just Mum, always have a chat and make us feel like part of the Woodway family. Thank you to the whole team.
My Mother moved into Woodway House from another area in March. The whole process was managed very sympathetically with lots of help and support from the manager. Since then my Mum (aged 91) has just thrived, she has put on weight (which was much needed), she looks so well now and is always happy when I visit. I asked my Mum if she was happy, her answer was a resounding yes. She loves all the staff as they look after her so well. She said she feels safe now after struggling to manage alone in her own home for so many years without any family nearby. I myself find all the staff so cheerful, friendly and supportive. I would encourage anyone who finds themselves in a situation where they are looking for care for their loved ones to think of Woodway House, it has been such a positive experience for our family.
I want to put on record how indebted my family and I are for the excellent care my mother has received during the last year and throughout the pandemic. Everything which could be done to keep residents safe has been done. I particularly wanted to express my gratitude for the lengths staff went to, to make Mum's 94th birthday in April, memorable. They have worked hard to make the courtyard garden very attractive and set up a large gazebo for residents and relatives to enjoy, at a safe, social distance. We were given lateral flow tests when we arrived and only permitted to enter the garden once the tests proved negative. This is a lot of work for the staff but it was all done with patience and reassurance. Staff had gone the extra mile in providing a birthday cake and tea tray for Mum and us. We had a wonderful visit and I cannot praise the staff highly enough. Mum has had four very happy years at the home. I would highly recommend it.
My wife passed away in December 2020 after being a resident at Woodway House with dementia for almost two years. Throughout this time she was given the utmost caring, nursing and dignity. The management and all the various staff were always so helpful in helping and assisting me and my wife to cope with this situation at such a difficult time in our lives. I visited every day and was able to get to know all the staff. Without exception, they all have my utmost appreciation for the time my wife spent in their care.
The Manger and her team provided an excellent all-round professional, caring service for my father. Medication was well managed and on time, the room was spotless, food varied and appetising. The staff were gentle and patient, meeting the needs of my father. The team were very informative and honest with updates to the family when visiting. They were quick to notice any deterioration in his condition and act accordingly. It didn't seem possible that the staff could go up another gear in their work ethic but they did when the Covid lockdown came. Thank you
My mother lived here for 6 months before she passed away in January 2020. I cannot speak highly enough about the dedicated staff at Woodway House. They treat every resident as a friend and an individual with different needs, tastes and wishes - nothing is too much trouble. My mother was cared for with love and dignity and encouraged to be as independent as she could. They enriched the lives of the residents with activities and visitors - from bellydancers to dogs. My mother's last few days were not easy but they were always there with kind words and gentle hands. I was always made welcome day or night. Mum passed away where she wanted to be - at home!! Thank you so much - love you all.
Woodways Care Home provided a homely atmosphere for my father where he felt safe and secure in the last few months of his life. The staff and carers were excellent in managing his day to day needs, both physical and emotional and our family will always be indebted to them.
Woodway House cared for both my mother and father in law. My mother in law for 4years and my father in law for 6months. She was 93 and he was 101 when they passed away. In that time they were treated with such care and consideration. The staff were lovely and also made us feel welcome. The atmosphere always felt good. When they passed away they were treated with dignity and love.
