On entering it is very bright and welcoming. The Staff are always smiling and attentive There is always something going on for entertainment. They are very Special People who work there My Husband has now become a permanent Resident
A family member lived at George Hythe House for a number of months while an assessment was made for them to be transferred to supported living accommodation. The staff were always kind and respectful to their needs. The place was always clean/tidy and the food was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. I would like to highlight the amount of activities available - both in the home and external. There is always something for the residents to do daily if they wish. Otherwise, they can retire to a quiet space and ask for support when required. I was always welcome in the care home and could sit with my family members for as long as I wished. From the interactions I had with the staff and from what I have seen, I believe this care home to be of an exceptional standard!
My long-term friend/partner has been a resident at George Hythe House since the end of January 2024. From day one he has been treated with respect by a very caring staff. I too have been treated extremely well too. Most of the staff, and quite a few other residents, now know me because of my frequent visits and greet me by my first name. I feel I'm visiting lots of friends. The premises are always clean and tidy and well kept. There are various groups, residents can take part in, walking, swimming along with other activities I was rather concerned about my partner going into a home, but unfortunately, he came to the stage where I was struggling and he was passed being able to make such a decision for himself. I am so pleased George Hythe were able to accept him and his needs. All the staff are so good, but I must mention the Manager, Deputy Manager and the Events Co-ordinator, who encourages the residents from just sitting in a chair. God Bless you all.
A first-class group of friendly and caring staff supported by head office. My parents were residents, unfortunately they have now both passed away. We as a family made friends with all the staff and residents, you could not wish to meet nicer people. We cannot thank them enough and wish them all the best for the future.
It was a very hard decision to place Dad into a care home, we had heard so many horror stories of how residents were treated via media coverage. My sisters and I have spent a lot of time in George Hythe House since Dad moved in the home six weeks ago. We spend hours in there and witnessed every part of the day. The staff genuinely care for our dad and all the residents. We have witnessed them attending their every need. After some recent scares with Dad, which has meant we have stayed with Dad in his room, they have showed compassion for Dad and support for us. Anything constructive we have mentioned, such as the restaurant did not require tablecloths, the next day, new place mats were in situ and it looks very smart. Leaving Dad in a care home was so hard, but we know he is in very safe hands. The staff are so caring and I believe they understand and empathise with how we feel.
Very happy with the care home and care provided for my Dad. The food is good and plenty of activities, very clean inside and out and genuine care among staff and management. Would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to provide quality care for their loved ones. Thanks again.
My wife first entered stage one of her care in September/October 2018 (day centre) following a diagnosis of vascular dementia. Full-time care began in late September 2020. Throughout her care at George Hythe, the staff (new and old) have treated her with consideration and allowed her the dignity a once highly talented artist, teacher, wife and mother deserves.
Vibrant residential home on the edge of North Leicester. Easy access to the city and country. Four wings, each with its own lounge. Central dining and activities area. Great environment, clean and tidy. Great management and staff. A varied programme of activities and trips. Good needs, food, drinks and snacks. Excellent medication regime
My mum is happy, relaxed, settled and safe. Her clothes are always clean and she has frequent baths. She eats well-cooked food that she enjoys and is well cared for. There are fun activities for residents and their friends and family. Last year, Mum was taken on a day trip to Skegness. I am confident that George Hythe House has my mum's best interest at heart. If I have any concerns, the manager listens and acts.
I’ve been treated, amazingly. So warm and welcoming. The food is tasty and varied, with plenty of choices. For breakfast, there's a choice of cooked, or cereal, fruits etc, dinners are always freshly made, with sandwiches/soup for tea time and cups of tea in between. Rooms are kept clean daily. Staff can't seem to do enough for you, whatever you need, there's a friendly face ready to help, and nothing is ever a problem.
I always find my husband clean and cared for, as happy as can be. I know they do activities but never there when they are doing them, so not sure if and when they are. It was recently his birthday and they made a great effort in his celebrations. Love the fact the home never smells.
My mum is very happy at George Hythe. Over the last 6 months there have been so many improvements to the decoration and furnishings within the home making it much more welcoming and brighter. Staff are always so helpful and friendly. The activities for residents are so varied and provide lots of fun and stimulation for all who can take part.
We've been unable to visit our relatives within the home for almost 12 months due to the pandemic. We have been allowed window visits which are as unsatisfactory and unsociable as they are emotional and uncomfortable. But with no alternative being made available we have had to accept this. I do feel however that some facility could have been arranged to enable safe visiting indoors had the will of management been there for us all.
We needed respite care urgently and the staff responded immediately. My mum in law was given a room the same day. Staff were welcoming, kind and caring. I am so grateful for the help we received.
My mother has recently become a permanent resident at George Hythe House after several respite stays. I cannot praise the staff highly enough for the care and compassion they have shown both my mother and myself at this difficult time. They continue to provide excellent care which, I witness on a daily basis, and their friendliness and openness is wonderful. Thank you.
The staff at this home are so caring. They are a credit to their employer. My mum has been in the home for around four years and it's just like a home from home. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff to make her life comfortable.
A truly amazing, professional yet actually caring home for my gran. I cannot fault anything the staff are wonderful professional people. My gran had a fall and all the staff kept her dignity, privacy and was so professional and caring with her. They check on her all the time, where she is and how she is. They have fantastic entertainment and the residents have the freedom to go anywhere they want they even get a wheelchair when needed. It really is person-centred. The best home in our opinion. Thank you to all the staff.
My wife visited George Hythe House for one week of respite care and settled very quickly. She requires a high level of care due to her many disabilities resulting from Alzheimer's disease and I was very pleased with everything that the home provided. She will soon be returning for a 2-week stay which speaks for itself!
Excellent. Care good. Love living here. George Hythe family.
