View Full Details of Glenfield WoodlandsMum has been at Woodland since August 2024 and we have seen a fantastic improvement in her physical and mental health. Since moving to Woodlands mums health has flourished and the staff have been great. Professional and friendly at all times and the level of communication is great. They have a great program of weekly events that have helped mum back on the road to recovery and she is now walking with the support of a walking aid. All the staff make time for the residents and are very caring and compassionate. Recently the lift was out of action for a day and the home arranged a "temporary lounge" upstairs to enable the residents to be together and enjoy each others company. An illustration how a home go above and beyond to make life comfortable for the residents. I cannot fault the care and professional approach Woodlands show to residents and family. The home is well led and there is always a lovely atmosphere. A big shout out to all the Carers and mum is laughing again. GREAT!
My 97 year old mum became a resident in August. Mum has dementia and did suffer from very poor mobility and on arrival at Glenfield Woodlands from a previous home where Mum was unkempt and mentally distressed. Within two weeks, thanks to the Manager and her wonderful team of caring staff, mum had settled into her forever home. My Mums personality has changed beyond belief. Not only is Mum very happy and content, laughs and jokes a lot but has also made friends with all of the lovely staff and residents. She joins in with all of the very varied daily activities such as baking, crafts, games and singing to name a few. Thanks to the patience and encouragement of the wonderful staff, Mum can now walk with her frame, much further than shes walked in the last 5 years. Glenfield Woodlands which is set in beautiful grounds is a very caring and friendly home with a family atmosphere. All staff members are truly amazing and a dedicated team. Thank you all for looking after Mum so well.
I found this residential home for my sister-in-law, who had been in/out of hospital, due to poor health amd dementia. Her health had deteriorated rapidly, her mobility was poor and, following discharge to a temporary place, she broke her hip so was back in hospital again, that was life-changing for her and we thought we would lose her. Since being at Glenfield her communication has improved, she is smiley and happy, she is clean and comfortable and tells me the food is lovely. They have already got her standing and out into the sunshine to sit in the glorious garden. She is also drinking more, and for the first time in a while we can actually go to sleep at night without a knot in our stomachs. We feel that we can now look forward to short breaks away without worry. She has only been in this care home for just over two weeks but wow what a difference in her. Thank you to the manager and all of the other caring staff who give such excellent care.
Mum settled into Woodlands incredibly quickly. By day two she was ‘at home’. Mum is very content and happy. She really loves all the activities (crafts, baking, singing, quizzes, bowling - to name but a few) and the company of staff and residents. It is a huge reassurance to us knowing that she is being looked after/supported to such a high standard. Visits are a pleasure and I am still able to take Mum out and about eg church, memory cafe etc. Big thank you to all the staff.
The staff are very friendly and understanding.
Family member stayed here for respite who thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Fantastic range of activities for all to do, bingo/painting/singing/baking etc. Staff were welcoming, approachable, friendly and knowledgeable. They were more than happy to answer any questions. Good communication from staff, for any falls/concerns or daily updates. Lovely warm cosy feel to the home, rooms were immaculate and designed well. Fantastic well-kept garden.
Staff were amazing and made my sister-in-law feel so welcome and ourselves whilst having respite care. She loves it there. All the staff and residents are so happy. Beautiful gardens. Great activities.
Brilliant friendly and caring staff who are dedicated and sensitive to the often joyful and complex needs of the residents. My mother is a recent resident at Woodlands and is having a great time, making new friends, and being supported by a fab team. She is eating well, baking and playing games, this is great for a lady in her nineties with a new lease of life.
Staff are pleasant and friendly. My uncle seems to be happy there.
Very pleasant atmosphere. Lovely staff, always making us welcome with a cup of tea, coffee and biscuits. Although our uncle is virtually blind, he is very mentally alert and a kind member of staff spends time with him, doing crossword puzzles with him, that's brilliant keeping his mind active. Unable to comment on the value for money option as we are not financially involved.
The care Mum receives at Glenfield Woodhouse is first class, she recently needed to have a spell in hospital, where the care was far from being what you would expect and disturbing for the family to experience. On returning to Glenfield Woodhouse, her care improved 100% and her recovery was down to the amazing staff who nursed her back to good health for a 97 year old. I cannot praise and thank them enough. Thank you all for what you do for Mum, we are so pleased she's back in your wonderful care.
Glenfield Woodlands is an excellent care home for my mum. It's a home that has a friendly atmosphere and nothing is too much trouble for them when we visit. They are always trying to entertain the residents in lots of different ways and the residents always appear to be happy. All the staff are hard working and look after my mum very well, treating her with care and dignity. There always seems to be a variety of different meals and special requests are no trouble to the kitchen staff. So all in all an excellent home with a family feel. Thank you to all staff for looking after Mum.
My aunt is currently living here, she seems very happy here. It’s very home from home. The carers make her feel part of their family. There’s also been a newly appointed manager who comes across as a wonderful lady and really cares. I know that I’d recommend the home to my friends and other family.
Lovely home for Mum to live in, carers are really friendly and accommodating for visits and trips out for Mum to see the family. The team recently took Mum on a boat trip and I look forward to seeing Mum doing more trips like this in the future.
My mum has been a resident in Glenfield Woodlands since April 2023. I cannot thank the staff enough for the care they give her. Nothing is too much trouble for them all. They are really kind and caring, always with a smile on their faces.
The staff are very caring and professional. It is a small care home with a family feel. My brother has settled in to the routines very well and his health has improved greatly. Each resident is treated as an individual with their preferences noted and respected. The meals are plentiful and look delicious. I believe that the staff are Glenfield Woodlands' greatest asset.
An amazing care home that really does feel like home, not only my nan's home but I also feel at home every time I visit my nan. The staff are amazing and look after my nan as if she is their own, can't thank them enough for the love and care they show her. She is always clean, freshly shaven, her hair combed and her fresh nightie and bed sheets on every time I visit, no matter what time of the day or night I visit. The food and cleanliness of the home are both outstanding.
The home is in a great position for our family. After looking at other homes we found Woodlands was the best for my dad's needs. The place is home from home and the staff are excellent, always there with a smile and a cup of tea.
Staff are friendly and caring. There are regular activities that my mum takes part in. These are stimulating and fun. It's nice to be able to see what my mum has been doing via phone video and social media as often she can't remember.
This is my mum's 2nd care home, and the first experience was not good. At Glenfield, however, Mum is happy, relaxed, warm, well cared for with hygiene, content and well fed (compliments to the chef!). Over and above, the home provides stimulating entertainment, and Mum has sparked back into life on many occasions - dancing, singing, cooking, arts and crafts and miscellaneous other activities, one of which the care home brought in a tiny Shetland pony and Mum was grooming it with a hairbrush whilst stroking and loving the experience. I visit Mum twice a week, and on every visit, the management team are hands-on and leads the staff in a very professional way. The lovely personalities of all the staff bring out the best in care for the residents. A big thank you to all concerned with the running of this home.
