View Full Details of Thurn CourtMy dad has been at the home for three years with dementia, he is looked after to the best standards, he is clean, well-fed and warm and safe, the staff are brilliant, all warm and welcoming, they all work so hard and are so caring. Couldnt wish for a better home for Dad.
Thurn Court have looked after my brother-in-law since June last year until his passing on Saturday 25th January 2025. We have been extremely happy with the care and understanding of my brother-in-law's needs since we placed him into their care. The whole staff team, starting with the Manager, careers, all the way down to the housekeeping, and cleaning staff, and a special mention to the Activities Co-ordinator who always invited us to join in their daily activities, wherever possible or attend their events laid on for the service users. There are very many dedicated staff looking after our families, and far too many to mention. We as a family, have felt very confident that our brother was looked after with love and care during his stay at Thurn Court and offered exactly the care we could no longer offer at home. We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you sincerely for your dedication to our brother. I would have no hesitation in recommending your home.
I would highly recommend this care home to any person who liked the comforts of a homely environment. All the staff are professional in their working positions. They are friendly and caring and go the extra mile to make it clean and comfortable to all the residents welfare needs.
Although my wife was only in the care home for a matter of 9 weeks on end of life, myself and my family could not have wished for a better place to be cared for. The staff from management to administration to carers, catering, cleaners everybody took the utmost care of my wife. The doctor was very straightforward in her dealings with my wife which we really appreciated, no beating about the bush always straight honest answers. The young carer who looked after us whilst we sat with my wife's final hours and arranged everything when she passed did an excellent job and was very very professional. We as a family cannot thank the whole of the staff enough and would without hesitation recommend this lovely home THANKS ONCE AGAIN.
The staff are all really helpful, friendly and really care for the residents. They do a great job and are a credit.
I recently had my mother in respite at Thurn Court. I needed a break. The staff at Thurn Court were so lovely that my mum did not even miss me. In fact they managed to get her to take her medication and eat more food than she does at home. She was a lot easier to handle after her stay. The staff must have had a magic touch with her. I would recommend them to anyone. Five stars is not enough.
The staff were friendy and they gave my sister good care. I was quite happy with the home and would have liked for her to remain there.
My Dad is at the end of his life but that hasn't stopped him with the support of the amazing staff at Thurn Court helping him manage his conditions with the utmost care, dignity, empathy and laughter as well as tears. Yes, some of the well-used areas of the home could do with a refresh but l know my Dad is well cared for and even loved by the members of staff. The manager oversees the care with empathy and professionalism and I know will always act in my Dad's best interests.
Thank you very much for the excellent care you took of my cousin and your friendliness and approachability.
This care home is lovely and has a happy atmosphere. The residents are well looked after.
My brother has been a resident of Thurn Court for the last 5 weeks, since then there has been a marked improvement in his overall well-being. The staff, facilities, and management are excellent and when visiting I am treated well. From my limited knowledge, it seems excellent value for money.
Mum was welcomed into Thurn Court, and although it took a while to integrate, the manager and staff were intuitive to her needs and private nature, encouraging her to be with other residents. I was always able to telephone and speak to her during covid. All staff in all departments played their part in making mum comfortable physically, mentally and socially. Any concerns were promptly reported detailing care given following us and asking my opinion. During my visits, all the staff and management displayed honest care and respect for all residents and excellent coping strategies. The home is well-maintained and clean. Having viewed three others, mum decided that this was the most 'homely' with well-sized comprehensive and comfortable rooms. Therefore, happy mum, happy me! Overall I should like to thank all the staff for their kindness and professionalism. Thurn Court is an excellent choice where both residents and families would not be disappointed.
I have been really impressed with the quality of care at Thurn Court. It is a very welcoming place to visit and stay with a homely feel. My mother-in-law seems very happy and content here and receives wonderful care. Residents are given the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities to keep them motivated. This includes bingo, flower arranging, pamper time and crafts. The lifestyle lead is very friendly and always tries to personalise things for residents and gives them 1:1 time to chat too which is lovely. The manager of the home has been incredibly helpful, giving us lots of time to discuss things and make my mother-in-law's time here as comfortable as possible. We can't thank you enough, you have helped us to feel much more at ease knowing she is in safe hands.
Very friendly and caring staff they look after my dad with so much care. They do their very best to accommodate all his needs and mine is always there for a talk and guidance for my dad. I love the security They have in place it makes me happy knowing my dad is safe. He eats very well at mealtimes and loves his room.
We were greatly impressed by the care and helpfulness of all of the staff from the home administrator to the carers visiting and caring for our aunt daily. On occasions, there were minor issues which didn't get relayed to members of the team, mainly because of the time they had. But on the whole, it was a great experience. The food came out as excellent and the cleanliness and our aunt was sorry to leave. She has settled back at home now. Many thanks.
The family has been very satisfied with the level of staffing and feedback from the resident. Staff at all levels were helpful, accommodating and engaged fully in providing care needed. The care home manages to balance the needs of different individuals in a good way.
This care home is very well run by management and staff. My Mum came here for a 6-week stay after coming out of hospital, but there was no room for her to stay permanently, which both Mum and I were disappointed about because Mum had settled and everyone was lovely. Thankfully, a room did become available so Mum stayed. This was February 2020, just before covid, so I felt so lucky as it was upsetting that I couldn't see Mum but I knew she was comfortable, happy and well looked after. I was very happy with how they dealt with things through covid. Two and a half years ago, my mum came here and we don't have a bad word to say about it. Going on our experience, I would highly recommend Thurncourt care home.
I can not give this care home and all staff enough praise and thanks. There care and love not only for residents but for their families as well. My grandma sadly passed away in there last year after a very long stay. Her care was amazing we couldn't have asked for more from them, her end-of-life care couldn't have been any better if they tried. My uncle has been in there quite a while now and has nothing but good to say about all staff. He is treated with respect, love and care by all. I would not hesitate to recommend Thurn Court to anyone and I'd even go in there myself. The food is very good with brilliant options. The place is always clean.
Busy, clean and cheerful Organised and reassuring.
My mother was placed at Thurn Court residential home in Thurnby Lodge on a therapy lead placement after falling in March 2022 and fracturing her left hip and wrist. From the offset all staff were polite, friendly, professional, kind and helpful. Mum was treated with respect and encouraged to join in and interact. Her room was clean, pleasant and comfy.
