View Full Details of Manton HallMy mum was a resident at Manton Hall for over 2 years and sadly recently passed away. As I live in Australia it has been very important for me to still feel connected to Mum and able to talk and see her. The staff were always more than helpful to facilitate this which was so helpful and very much appreciated. I recently travelled back to the UK as Mum's health deteriorated. During my time there I was able to witness the kindness, compassion and care and dignity the staff showed to Mum and my family. I will be forever grateful to the whole team.
The decision to place my mum (who has Alzheimer's dementia) at Manton Hall was a very difficult one. I had been caring for her 7 days a week for over 3 years at home & was wracked with guilt. I need not have worried however - from day one, every member of staff from carers to kitchen & domestic staff has shown nothing but kindness to both the residents & their families. Manton has a homely & friendly atmosphere & everyone is made welcome. Having worked as an NHS nurse for over 33 years, I know that compassion & respect for others are things which cannot be taught & all the staff here show this every day in the way they care for residents & protect their dignity. However long or short Mum's life is, I will always be glad that I picked such a lovely place for her to be cared for.
My Dad has dementia and has been living at Manton Hall since the beginning of the year. We can now sleep at night, knowing he is being so well cared for 24 hours a day. Every member of staff at Manton Hall greets you with a smile and a kind word. They not only provide excellent care for Dad but they also look after us when we need the support. Thank you so much to everyone at Manton Hall for making this difficult time a little easier.
My mother has now been a resident at Manton Hall for the past 18 months, during this time the care has been continuously excellent, every time I visit (no appointments just turn up) I can see my mother is clean well dressed as well as the other residents, my mother can be difficult due to dementia the staff treat her with kindness and respect, Manton is like a big family, I have felt supported by the staff as it is a worry when a loved one goes into a care home. Due to the kindness of everyone at Manton, I know this is the right place for my mother. I can't recommend Manton Hall enough.
My Dad felt at home straight away. The team of carers really do care and this is consistent. Meals served are homemade and taste amazing, lovely dining room setting. The activity lady has asked loads of questions about my dad to make sure he has homely things around him. His mobility is monitored and he always has a cater with him. He likes to look smart and does every day.
Very early days as yet but so far, Manton Hall appears to be a very friendly and caring place. Mum-in-law came for a short 2-week visit earlier in the year, then a 4-week stay with the intention of living here on a permanent basis. We couldn't get her away! She loves it! Made lots of friends, loves the food, and think the staff are lovely, looking forward to the warmer weather to get out into the garden again. Says she can have her privacy when she requires it and can socialise with other residents when she wishes. It is permissible for residents to bring some of their own furniture and decorative items. Makes it feel a little more like home. There has been a huge turnabout in her mood, she is happy once again! Looking forward to the future.
The staff at Manton Hall are wonder. Totally come to making my mother’s time with them as comfortable possible. They go above and beyond always aiming to satisfy her needs. My mother seems to enjoy her interactions with the staff. Our family are happy that we chose Manton as Mum's care home.
Amazing staff and care at Manton Hall. They keep me updated on any issues and you can visit whenever and always made welcome. I have visited many homes and this is the best. The management appears to really look after their staff and this reflects. They all seem so happy in their jobs! Also, the residents always tell me how happy they are and love being there. It’s a pleasure to see! They do lots of activities weekly and share with family through social media. It’s really reassuring to see our loved one cared for so well. The food always looks excellent and the residents always say this and have a great choice. They even do a pack-up for people if they have a hospital appointment. There is always plenty of staff and you don’t see people waiting for toileting like I’ve seen in previous care homes. My mother-in-law is always clean dressed well and cared for. They assist with feeding her as her appetite is so low now. I honestly believe they deserve this award! Well done.
A wonderful care home. It really helps knowing that my mum is safe and being cared for by an incredible set of staff members. I visit on a regular basis and always receive a nice welcome. I can't thank everybody enough for all the hard work they do.
My dad has been at Manton Hall for nearly a year now and in his own words 'they feel like family to me'. What better review could you ask for! Every single member of staff from housekeeping, kitchen, right through to management gives 100% in everything they do. They are very genuine, caring people and my dad could not be looked after any better.
My grandad seems very happy and cared for at Manton Hall. The engagement he gets there means he is busy and this is keeping his mind active. As a family, we are welcomed and looked after when we visit.
My husband is my world and he could not be in a better place than this, he thinks he's with family - so I cannot thank them enough for what they all do. I sleep well at night now knowing he is happy and well looked after. My grateful thanks to all of then including the cleaners and chefs.
My mum was moved to Manton Hall after being in the hospital for a few weeks. The home is lovely and welcoming. Mum has settled in nicely. We have found the staff so accommodating, and nothing is too much trouble for them.
My mum has been a full-time resident in Manton Hall for almost two years, and I am very happy with the care she receives. Mum has a very good relationship with many of the staff (carers and domestic), and they treat her as if she were their own mum. I feel well supported by the staff too. Her room is kept beautifully clean and tidy, and she was able to take many of her own furnishings with her making her room very personal to her. Food is an important part of life at Manton, and it is home cooked and plentiful.
We moved my mother to Manton Hall from East Sussex in June so she would be closer to my sister and I. The manager of the home was very helpful and made the process much easier than expected. My mother has a beautiful room overlooking the garden, which she loves. I visit weekly, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and engaging. My mother suffers from dementia, but is generally bright and happy, and says she feels very spoilt at the home, and that the staff are very attentive. We really couldn't have asked for a better home for my mother. Thank you to all the staff at Manton Hall for looking after my mother so well.
My brother-in-law is a stroke victim and has been resident for 2 years. It has been a very difficult time for the care home and staff as they tried to provide the best possible service in the face of staff shortages and the Covid pandemic. Manton's record of keeping Covid out of Manton Hall for so long should be a major source of pride for all. My brother-in-law's condition means that he is not an easy individual to deal with but throughout I have been grateful for the efforts of the Manton Hall staff to care for him. My only concern has arisen recently and relates to management's response in regard to medically appropriate transport for hospital visits. National constraints on ambulance availability have prevented my brother-in-law from attending several medical appointments. The lack of availability of NHS transport is beyond the control of Manton Hall, however the circumstances were foreseeable and alternative arrangements could have been proactively put in place.
Staff are all very kind and the home is always very clean and tidy. The home keeps in touch with me on a regular basis. Everyone treats the residents with respect and nothing is too much trouble. Food also looks good.
All staff appear caring, and friendly and give the time when available. Able to receive updates on mums condition when I phone. The home is always warm and clean and appears adequately staffed. Sometimes more detailed information would be useful, although I understand this takes time and coordination.
Moving my husband into full-time care was the hardest thing I have done. From the outset, the staff and management have done everything possible for both of us to settle to this new situation. My concerns and anxieties have been listened to with care and respect and acted upon where required. The staff are welcoming and friendly and at all levels show care and concern for the residents. I have observed members of the catering and maintenance staff giving support to residents who are a bit distressed, and everyone treats the residents with respect and care. I have been particularly impressed at how well his clothing is cared for. The residents look clean, as smart as possible and well cared for. The food is presented well. Activities are available and external outings are starting up now, and despite my husband's mobility problems and needs, he is being included. We have been able to personalise his room. I have given 4 stars for facilities as he does not have ready access to a shower.
The cook is so helpful and both kind to our father and us. Always smiling - tea and coffee always well received. The staff are all very helpful and caring, nothing is too much trouble. Dad looks well cared for and, although his Altziemer's is progressive, he is included in all activities, etc.
