Monson Care Home, 9-11 Monson Street, Lincoln, LN5 7RZ
View Full Details of Monson Care HomeIt was a difficult decision for my parents to go into care due to dementia. They both ended up in Monson about six months ago. The thing that stands out the most is the genuine care, dignity and respect of the management and staff. You can tell that they truly care for their residents and they are always prepared to go the extra mile. The everyday kindness is ever present. Furthermore the management are very responsive in contact with families and both provide information and answer questions very quickly. Big thanks to the special and exceptional staff of Monson!!
I have experience of a number of care homes and Monson is by far the best in all aspects, a very welcoming home, with friendly and efficient staff. The home always looks clean and well-organised. There is always something going on to keep the residents entertained. Communication with the team is always good and very prompt, both by phone call and email. The staff are always happy to discuss any issues when I visit. The most noticeable thing about the home is how calm the environment is, in comparison to other care homes. I would not hesitate to recommend Monson to other people wanting short or long-term care.
I visited my mother today, it was her birthday. I was most impressed by the level of care and activity that had been organised. The afternoon tea was a nice thought and included all the other residents, for once my mum was the centre of attention. I had a fabulous visit today and look forward to my next. Thank you Monson for looking after my mum.
Dad is very well cared for and the home is very active in organising stimulating and fun activities, outings and visits from local schools, therapy animals and musicians. I feel he's in the best of hands at this delicate stage of life and couldn't be happier with his care.
My mother has been a resident at Monson for 8 years and has enjoyed the best of care. All the care staff are very attentive and always treat my mum with respect and compassion. The home offers a wide range of healthy and tasty food and the home has a clean and welcoming environment. A variety of activities are offered to keep the residents engaged and mentally/physically stimulated.
My mum has been a resident at Monson since July. It is a hidden gem in the area. I was instantly struck by how lovely the spacious en-suite bedroom was and the hotel vibe of their restaurant and spacious lounge. All the staff are so caring and friendly from the reception team through to the senior team and manager. As a family, it was a difficult decision to make to find a home for my mum who was struggling with bereavement and dementia. But I am constantly saying how lucky we were to find this one! A special shout out to one of the ladies who is the most amazing activities co-ordinator! Thank you Jackie
In my experience, Monson Care Home is second to none. My mother has been there for 14 months and the care and support they give her is just amazing, she speaks English but is Italian and with dementia it's a challenge but they rise to it 100%. Can't speak more highly enough of the management and staff. Keep the good work up Monson Care Home.
My dad has been here for 4 weeks for emergency respite. He leaves tomorrow, so I wanted to let people know about this care home. Anyone who rates this facility any less than 5 stars is not seeing what I have. As a carer I have worked in some homes that I wouldn't want my dogs in nevermind parents. From the first day there were several staff members that came and welcomed my dad. Took him to his own room. This room was immaculate. The care and dedication the staff give to each and every individual in their care is second to none. They are very friendly to us visitors too and can me and my brother a meal so we could eat with our dad which was such a lovely touch. I loved seeing activities taking place and how well everyone took part. I highly recommend this care facility. To all the staff, including cooks, cleaners and the washing team thank you so much for everything you have all done, to contribute to my dad being able to come home.
A warm welcome and introduction to staff and some of the residents. Shown around the residence more fully during the following day and activities available if so inclined. Free to use general rooms or to stay in own room if wished.
My mother was discharged from hospital to an Assisted Recovery Bed at Monson Care Home, and is now in short-term care at the home whilst we plan for the future. My mum is a different person since coming to the home. She is settled, calm and content, and this is all down to the amazing care she receives. The home is clean, cheerful and full of life. Mum joins in all the activities planned by the amazing staff, and we have no doubt in recommending the home and all the staff.
My friend speaks highly of his care when he is in for a short stay or a longer stay, he compliments the staff for their attention to detail, the food and the frequency of tea and biscuits. Cheerful staff and very obliging, nothing is too much trouble, he especially enjoys the musician, the animal visits, and the sing songs, all credit to the entertainment manager.
Our father was admitted here by chance after a referral from the hospital. He had suffered a breakdown caring for our mother who has dementia. The staff made a point of getting to know him quickly, they seemed to genuinely care for him as an individual and he recovered well with their help. After a week we arranged for our mother to join him. On all our visits to Monson, we witnessed a homely, cosy atmosphere and the staff were always cheerful, helpful and patient, never appearing stressed or under pressure despite the challenges of caring for such a range of needs in the residents. They communicated well with us throughout our parents’ stay. We felt overall that they were very well looked after. Our Dad enjoyed the lunches provided but would have preferred a more substantial meal in the evening. Our parents are now back in their own home with daily carer visits, however, Monson Care Home would be high on our list when considering any future respite care or longer-term arrangement.
Mum was admitted with a very warm welcome and booking in was efficient. Staff have always been very friendly. Telephone enquiries have been dealt with promptly.
I always enjoy my stay. The staff are very hard workers and are all so kind. The food is lovely, they cater for my dietary needs so well. All who work here are a pleasure to be with. Thank you for looking after me and making my stay so enjoyable.
Excellent facilities. Cleanliness, hygiene and facilities are all quality. Staff are always patient and can't do enough to help service users and visitors. My mum would be happy to return here if required in the future.
We have been extremely happy with the care and support Dad received during his time at Monson Care Home. The staff have always been really attentive and friendly and have also been supportive of our family too. We cannot thank them enough.
I found Monson Care Home to be friendly, caring and supportive. The manager and her team were always most helpful with any issue raised. Monson had a warm, happy atmosphere. They were always welcoming which gave me confidence that my dear husband was in a safe, caring environment with an excellent manager leading an exceptional team with whom I could rely on implicitly to meet his every need.
My 92 year old Dad was admitted to Monson Care Home following a fall at home. It was a stressful and worrying time but from the moment we arrived the staff have been welcoming and reassuring. Everywhere is clean and modern from the comfy, cosy rooms, the spacious lounge and cafeteria-style dining room to the beautiful outdoor areas. There are regular games, singalongs, and little challenges for the residents to take part in should they choose to. I particularly love the way all the staff take care to treat residents as individuals, getting to know their particular likes, dislikes and ways. Everyone is treated with affection and respect. The staff are busy of course, but whenever I have had any concerns about my Dad I've always felt like the staff have taken time to listen and to help. The manager is approachable leads by example - she and the whole team are not just doing a job, they genuinely care about their residents going above and beyond what might be expected.
My mum's stay at Monson was happy, successful and excellent. The care provided is of a very high standard. Compassion, kindness and residents' welfare and security is at the heart of all the team. Transparent and honest communication - I trusted the staff completely and more importantly so did my mum. My mum felt safe and secure. The whole team work tirelessly and should be reminded of their importance and quality. It was a humbling experience. The whole team (it really feels like a team operating and managing the home) give care with kindness and dignity. It is a wonderful environment everyone from administration team, catering, carers, nursing, IT and social work so hard and they seem to do so with grace and professionalism. I have no hesitation recommending this care home at the heart of Lincoln City. They are in my opinion the gold standard.
My mother spent 4 weeks at Monson Care Home recovering from a hospital admission. She received nothing but excellent care and felt herself part of the family there very quickly. Staff at Monson are very caring of their guests and clearly have compassion and empathy for the residents and guests alike. I always found the care and admin staff were readily available to discuss my mother’s day-to-day care and support to get her home again. They helped my mother regain confidence and mobility and encouraged her to achieve her goals for discharge home. I have nothing but admiration for this care home and the staff that make it what it is. - Excellent.
