View Full Details of The Five Bells Residential Care HomeMy father is in the very caring hands of this great team. He is always well-fed and very well looked after. He is certainly a lot happier and we have more piece of mind now that he has moved directly into the home. The team are always happy and polite and you can see they put my father's needs first.
My father has dementia and can be very cantankerous. The care he receives is excellent. The carers always treat him with respect and dignity, even though he can be difficult at times. I'm also delighted with the communication I receive regarding his well-being.
Following on from the care my Dad previously received this is a breath of fresh air, nothing is too much trouble and the communication is excellent. My Dad is really happy there and we are close by if needed.
This care home has the most wonderful staff who treat the residents with respect, dignity and the utmost care at all times.
It may not be the smartest of care homes but more important than looks my stepmother seems happy at Five Bells. The staff seem to genuinely care for the residents and there always seems to be carers about. Step-mum says that she is looked after well, plentiful, is warm and smell-free. My only criticism would be that we have to make an appointment to visit, which takes away the spontaneous quick pop-in. I guess that is part of the home security procedure though, can only be a good thing. My stepmom's room is small but homely. Can't really fault anything.
My dad moved here after mum had died. He came from the South Lakes. He has settled in well and all the staff have been very kind to him. This is a nice place to be. Highly recommend.
My aunt has been resident at The Five Bells for just over a year and my parents were there for nearly ten years. I have always found the care they have received to be of a high standard, they are treated with respect and understanding. All the staff consider my aunt's needs, they take time to listen to her and are supporting her through a difficult time wonderfully. The communication between myself and the team is excellent, I am kept up to date with medical information and her general daily life. In relation to my parents, both of whom died at The Five Bells, the care and support that they received was second to none. Plus the staff were very supportive of me as I went through the difficult times. I feel that the home is a wonderful home-from-home for the residents, with staff who care about each resident as an individual.
Moving to The Five Bells was the best decision my Aunt could make. Over the past year my Aunt has settled well and regards it as home. It also means she is closer to my home so I can visit weekly. The support and care by the staff is excellent and her dignity and choices are always respected. Communication between the home and myself is valued. My Aunt has a lovely flat where she can be independent but also receive any support she needs from the residential care home. She enjoys to walk up and down the lane to spend time on the patio overlooking the countryside or up into the village. I am reassured knowing she is safe and content. All staff (including team leaders, activity workers, carers, managers, domestic and admin staff) always have a smile and will spend time chatting to my Aunt as they go about their work. Thank you Five Bells, I cannot recommend you highly enough. You always aim to listen and support.
My mother, who is 96, spent six weeks at Five Bells recovering from a broken hip. The home is small and the building has a great history and character but its age can present challenges like narrow passageways and awkward steps, but the real trump card is the staff. They were unfailingly kind, considerate and efficient and make the place feel like a real home from home. Food was good, freshly prepared and age-appropriate. Rehabilitation plans were quickly prepared, explained and carried through. I'd like to offer my grateful thanks to everyone at Five Bells.
My mum became a resident at Tannery Lane, 5 Bells Care home in Jan 19. Since that point her confidence has grown and her independence has returned. The staff, facilities and general care provided is excellent. I have absolutely no concerns for her wellbeing.
The two weeks respite care that I had was excellent. All staff were caring and friendly and the room was homely and comfortable. Would certainly be happy to go again.
The Five Bells is a safe and caring home for my mother who has lived there for the last eight years. The staff have an excellent attitude and make the residents feel at home.
Caring friendly staff are the key feature of this home.
Following a fall my mother was discharged from hospital to a respite bed. Even though she arrived late the staff were kind and helpful. I felt completely secure knowing that mum was being well looked after. The staff were all kind, efficient and caring. The food was freshly prepared and well cooked. Mum was very happy there and very well looked after. I would definitely use again.
My mother was a resident at The Five Bells for more than eight years until her death on January 30th 2017. She was very happy there, at first having a delightful cottage in the complex and later moving into a room of her own within the main building as she required more care. Generous care and support was provided throughout. She really thought of it as "home". The caring staff and nurses are all excellent, they saw to her every need, they looked upon her as their grandmother, even coming in to sit with her on their days off while she was dying. Excellent.
During the 18 months my husband was at The Five Bells I and my family found the care, comfort and homeliness second to none. I came every day so was able to observe the day to day life of the home.
Very supportive and caring staff. Lovely to see the same staff every time we visit Dad is very happy here and well supported with his interests. The Five Bells has a 'homely' feel which we appreciate.
