View Full Details of Gregory HouseGregory House is very friendly, clean and a lovely home. The staff are always very helpful and kind. There is a family atmosphere. Activities are really suitable for a range of people.
My mum moved to Gregory House in July 2024 and was made to feel at home immediately. Nothing is too much trouble for the team and my mum keeps telling me how happy she is and that she never wants to live anywhere else! Thank you to everyone at Gregory House for making everything so perfect for my mum.
First impressions of Gregory House, prior to Dad’s residency from early May to late October 2023, were a warm, friendly and welcoming environment - a thoroughly pleasant feel with kind, compassionate and caring staff. These early impressions were only enhanced during Dad’s stay and the overwhelming professionalism and consideration shown by all staff members throughout was of great comfort to all. There is a real sense of intimacy and ‘family’ at Gregory House - staff quickly became friends and Dad became part of their family. No care environment can ever replace home, but for Dad at that time, and his needs, he could not have been in better, safer, more caring hands. Dad sadly died in residency, very peacefully and naturally aged 89. Of course he would have preferred to have spent his last six months in his own home, but he was happy being cared for, valued and looked after by his new family. His, and the visiting family and friends’ experience of Gregory House was excellent. Thank you.
Gran lives at the home and she is very happy. The staff is always attentive and very professional.
My grandma has been here almost a year now after her previous home closed. The staff here have gone above and beyond to help her settle into her now forever home. There are lots of activities for her to enjoy and family days for everyone's family to enjoy with them which is priceless for us.
On all my visits to Gregory House to see my mom there is always someone quick to greet me when I arrive and tell me how my mom is getting on. Mom really likes the entertainment which is arranged regularly and she joins in well with encouragement from the carers. She likes the meals and has quite a few favourites which are served regularly. As she struggles a bit with a mobile phone the carers always help her and let me know if she is having problems, so I can always get through to her for our daily chats. As she feels the cold an extra radiator is always in her room and she is very cosy there. Thank you to all the carers for making her life so comfortable.
My aunt had died at the care home and all the staff I met were helpful, considerate and professional towards me. My arrival soon after my aunt's death coincided with an outbreak of Covid in the home, nevertheless, all staff continued their support of me and assisted me in making arrangements for her possessions. Gregory House staff helped me through a sad occasion for which I am grateful.
My husband had 10 days in respite recently and has also attended day care there. I was rather nervous since his last respite care, at another home in teh area was extremely poor despite its plush appearance. You always receive a friendly greeting and my husband was clearly well cared for and entertained. The food is cooked on the premises and enjoyed. Nothing is too much trouble. Thank you so much for allowing me to take a break. My husband cant wait for his next visit! The rooms are not en suite but that is acknowledged in the cost. At the end of the day, the care is far more important, as I found, to my cost. My husband's comment:- 'it is a small homely community given with love'.
Mother has been in the home for a while now. I find staff very nice and caring. You can always approach staff on any query you have. On the whole it is very homely and they look after Mum very well.
My husband has been in residential care at Gregory House since the 1st of April 2023. Since then, he has been well-cared for by both carers and admin staff. The home provides a variety of activities for residents and staff are responsible for their needs. Sometimes the wheels of bureaucracy are slow to respond to individual requirements. For example, the strength of the wireless network is very poor in my husband's room. This means that he is unable to have internet access for a smart speaker and other services which help him greatly. Requests have been made for IT support - so far no response.
Now my wife has to receive full-time care, I am pleased that she is now resident in a place (Gregory House) that can care for her needs in a way that exemplifies all that a care home should.
During my grandma's time at Gregory House, so far, I have seen such care and respect towards her well-being, health and happiness. The staff are very friendly and approachable. Anything you need, they will see to ASAP. A warm and comfortable environment as well.
My good friend had to go into a home from the 6th of July this year permanently, her husband and myself looked at all the homes in the area and we were lucky to find this one. The staff are very kind and nothing is too much trouble. The management at the home were so helpful in walking us through the process. can say that my friend is very happy at Gregory House. Excellent choice - five stars! Thank you!
My Mother has been in Gregory House for about 18 months and has been shown only kindness, compassion, excellent care and love by every member of the staff there. She is so happy there and is always being encouraged to participate in every activity there is going and evidence is obvious of this by all the photos that Mum 'photo bombs'. The staff often send me these pictures/videos and the whole family love looking at them, especially those who are unable to visit Mum. All the family are always made welcome when they can visit.
We chose this care home because of its outstanding rating. It did not disappoint. Our mum was treated with respect, compassion and dignity. There was a range of activities to interest the residents. We always felt welcome when we visited.
Mum reluctantly moved into the home but after a very short period, she appeared to really enjoy being there. All of the staff were friendly and caring and provided a wonderful supportive service to Mum and to us as the family. They always made us so welcome. The family didn't really want Mum to go into care but in hindsight, it was the best and kindest thing we could do. Thank you for your wonderful care.
Mum stayed in a number of care homes for respite care last summer. This is the place where she has felt the happiest. The staff really seem to care about the residents. Great range of activities.
Everything is wonderful. I could not look after my husband at home anymore. I know he is well looked after and safe at Gregory House. Thank you to everyone from the office to the care staff. You all do an amazing job.
My ex-neighbour has settled in so well, she is so happy here. I can't praise the staff enough. As visitors, we are made so welcome.
I cannot fault the care home. They will do anything and everything they possibly can to help their residents to be happy and comfortable. They are friendly and efficient. Nothing is too much trouble. 10/10.
