View Full Details of St John's Care HomeThe staff are all really professional in regards to my Mother they are respectful and encouraging. Mum is now bed bound and they do their utmost to make sure that she is comfortable. After a fall from bed they made sure that she was ok by moving her to another room where she has peace and quiet.
Mum has been well cared for in the care home. Her physical health has improved and her heart failure is now much better controlled. Also her medication regime is well controlled. Her Parkinson's disease is well managed and her diabetes is also managed well. Her mental health regarding her dementia has deteriorated but slower than expected as they run an excellent program of activities which stimulates her and helps her maintain her memory and they are very good at helping her in moments of confusion and when she feels frightened or depressed. Overall she has a good quality of life. She tends to not tell the staff when she is having hallucinations or problems till the problems are worrying her but the staff are encouraging her to tell them and addressing once they know.
My Dad has lived at St John's Care Home for over a year now. Honestly, his move there was a difficult decision for us as a family but we are glad we made it. The staff at St Johns always seem to care for the residents as individuals. This is really important to me. I want to know that my Dad is being looked after kindly and compassionately. It always feels that he is. One of the greatest assets to St Johns has to be the non-caring staff who make the "living" experience what it is. It is lovely to visit and see such friendly faces. My only concern is about times when I feel the home is under staffed, usually weekends. I appreciate people perhaps do not want to work the weekends but there seems less presence at weekends. This could perhaps be made better if there was a visible management at the weekends too.
Mum had chest pain and on another occasion had a fall. The staff handled both problems to a high standard of care. She was resistant to going to A&E to be checked but they managed to persuade her to go and organised everything for her. They are very good at keeping her calm and despite her complicated needs, they are able to give her a good quality of life.
Caring staff who support my father during some challenging care requirements. Also extends to supporting the family too. This is a difficult phase for all of us. Can usually find staff when you need them, although weekends tend to be a bit more stretched.
The staff are always pleasant and friendly, there could be a few more to help with feeding the ones who are sitting in the dining room at meal times, we've never been introduced to the new manager so am unable to share any opinion about them.
We are very happy with the Care Home and Mum loves it. It’s kept very clean, but it is welcoming and has a homely feel. We know that Mum is well looked after health wise and we are always kept informed. Staff are excellent, friendly, efficient and proactive and there are always activities and outings to take part in, taking into account everyone's likes and dislikes.
The care my aunt receives at St John’s is second to none the staff are so kind and helpful and they have a full activity programme for the residents including trips out regularly. They ring me regularly to check her care plan and to see that I am happy with her care. The home is always spotless neat and tidy and the food is home-cooked and a great variety for the residents. I really can’t praise them enough.
Absolutely lovely caring care home. Nothing is too much trouble and when I visit my sister I am always made very welcome and the staff chat with me also. The home is very clean, well run and welcoming. I'm so glad my sister is a resident here as I know she will be well cared for.
My mum has been a resident of St John’s Care Home for some time now. She is well cared for by the staff, who do an excellent job in trying to engage her in activities. She always seems happy and content when we visit on a regular basis. I am delighted with the care provided by the staff.
Mum is very well looked after.
During continued difficult times, all staff and systems work well for the benefit of residents. The staff I have had contact with are professional and always with a smile. Residents are treated with patience and respect.
After viewing St John's and meeting the lovely manager, I was confident that my Mum would have her needs met and she would be very well looked after. I had to move Mum quite quickly, and everyone at St John's was very supportive during this time. I can only praise all of the staff for how they not only care for my Mum but the other residents
At all times, I have been impressed by the compassion and professionalism of the hands-on care staff. Likewise, the efficiency and approachability of the management and ancillary staff. I am confident my elderly mother is in good hands, and I would not hesitate to recommend St John's Care Home to those in need of its services.
Wonderful care and love for my mother. She is so happy and so valued. Very impressed with the whole teamwork there and the leadership. They listen to suggestions respectfully and adapt. Social activities are stimulating each day. Great job.
A really friendly place. All staff etc, are very kind and understanding, they will all go the extra mile. The home has such a friendly atmosphere, and the rooms are kept nice and clean, just like the rest of the place. My dad is very well looked after, and I cannot thank them enough for what they do for him. I would recommend St John's Care Home.
Highly recommended - all-round excellent home and staff. The staff really care, understand the residents' needs, are constantly cheerful and positive and work hard to keep the residents content and entertained. There are lots of activities and trips, and as someone not living locally, it is great to see regular photographs on Facebook. I am totally confident my mother has the best care available, and she is as happy and as comfortable as she can be. A big thank you to everyone at St John's.
I am very happy with the care my mum receives and that Mum is treated as an individual. Mum is always clean and well-dressed. She is content and happy and so I am! Thank you to St John's I really am grateful.
We are happy with the care our father receives at St John's. The staff are all very caring and kind. St John's has a very friendly atmosphere.
Outstanding would be an understatement. Following an extremely traumatic transfer from the West Midlands to St John's, all the staff, upon reception/receiving my aged mother, literally 'bent over backwards' to ensure Mum was made welcome and, above all, comfortable and at ease. It was immediately apparent from the second my mum was settled into her new environment that the attending staff, and management, were as concerned as the family about how my dear mother had been obviously mistreated before being admitted to St John's... the clear compassion and understanding given will never be forgotten. Throughout what was to become just a short residency for my mother I/we can truthfully state that all the staff, from management to nursing and ancillary, were kind and, above all, sincere in their dedication to the care of their elderly residents... without exception. It must be stated that to "cap" this dedication, both senior managers from the home attended my mother's funeral - never forgotten.
