View Full Details of St Michael'sSt Michael's provides a caring, family atmosphere for residents and their visitors. The use of residents and family meetings enables a positive rapport to develop and constructive ideas to be put into practice. All the staff are friendly and responsive while maintaining a professional approach. A wide range of activities are provided. My father appreciates the monthly "service" and visits from the local vicar, as well as benefits from the twice weekly "exercise" sessions.
I think my wife could not have been better cared for.
This home was excellent in the care it provided, from the domestic staff, catering, carers and management; everyone was approachable and acted on requests/concerns promptly or at the earliest possible time (i.e. needs a haircut, nails need cutting). Was treated with care, dignity and respect at all times. They also dealt with the pandemic while still giving excellent care to the residents.
Everyone was very kind and welcomed him into the care home. I am very happy that he is being well cared for and that he has settled down now. I feel that I can talk to management at any time if I have any concerns regarding care.
We are happy with the care my cousin is receiving at St Michael's. She enjoys the food and always seems quite happy when we visit. The staff are all very friendly.
All the staff are caring and genuine. They build positive relationships and never give up, even when things are difficult. The transitions in our lovely friend whilst at St Michael's were fantastic. The team are led by a committed and passionate manager who role models good care. I would highly recommend St Michael's; the care team are amazing.
I used to visit my grandad regularly and was always greeted with a warm welcome, cup of tea and biscuits, even when you could see the staff were busy they always went the extra mile to make my family and I welcome. The home has a wonderful atmosphere and the staff are always smiling, nothing was ever too much trouble. My grandad was always treated with dignity and respect to the very end. He would often say what a lovely place it was, even when the end was drawing near. We all felt supported as a family by the manager and staff from the first day of his admission to the home. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for care, you certainly won’t find a better facility and staff are all fantastic. Keep up the good work.
Visits are always informal and relaxed. Mum seems happy most of the time and care is good considering how many residents are there for the staff to look after.
I came here last November as I'd been in hospital and needed 2 or 3 weeks respite care. I was feeling good and ready to go home but couldn't because my central heating boiler was broken. I was pleasantly surprised when I did get here; ALL the staff were very friendly and helpful. I was greeted warmly; shown my room and then shown all around the care home. Mealtimes are regular (never late!). The food is really very tasty. The dining staff will make sure you have the food you like (there's plenty it and seconds are always available). Everything is spotlessly clean with a real air of homeliness. All medical needs are catered for (with a smile). I have been made very welcome and now see many of the staff as friends. There are often trips out to somewhere nice, I've enjoyed them.
My late husband spent a year at St Michael's, but he was not the only one to benefit because the staff and management, bless them, cared for my wellbeing as well. I stopped cooking or eating because he had had to be put in a home and after 65 years of marriage, this broke my heart. There was always a cuppa and a bickie every time I visited, and he was cared for so well all his little idiosyncrasies were met where ever possible, and he settled in very quickly.
My sister has resided in St Michaels for 4 years. The care and facilities are extremely good. The staff care for her really well. She is always clean and smells nice. The home is always spotless with no lingering unpleasant smells. I can recommend this care home to anyone who has the misfortune to have a relative needing care. Thank you to all the wonderful management and staff.
My father's time at the home was short, but the quality of the care and the compassion shown to him was brilliant. When he died, 3 of the staff came to his funeral which was lovely and a strong reflection of their genuine care support both to my Father and also myself. The care manager was extremely supportive and made time for me and my Father, especially when things got difficult. Knowing that my Father was cared for and safe gave me incredible peace of mind. Nothing seemed to much trouble and you were allowed to visit at any time which showed that the centre was very confident in its care provision. The food was superb and cooked on the premises which seems very rare these days and visitors were always offered drinks and biscuits which is a lovely touch and makes you feel very welcome. My Father particularly enjoyed his cooked breakfast each morning! Overall, I was extremely pleased with the care for my Father and would recommend the home to anyone. Thank you to St Michael's.
My mum has been a resident at St Michael's since June 2018 after making the difficult decision that she could no longer manage in her own home. From the outset, every member of staff has made enormous efforts to ensure Mum settled in and is happy and comfortable in her new surroundings. As we do not live locally it was important that we had the opportunity to talk to Mum and also get updates on her general well being and whenever we call we are always given time to discuss any queries we have before speaking with Mum. Likewise, when we visit we are always made to feel welcome and can spend as much time as we like with her. We are also encouraged to take her out. The home is always clean, the staff welcoming and friendly and engage with all the services users in a friendly happy manner. Overall we are extremely happy with the care and services provided.
My father enjoyed the last days of his life at St Michael's following hospital discharge. Although dementia had taken hold of him and he was not aware of his surroundings, he made positive comments before his hasty demise. I found the staff at St Michael's being of the highest quality, approachable, helpful and obliging to attend to my father's needs. Having worked in the ambulance service for twenty years, I am well qualified in assessing the care and environment that my late father encountered. P.S. Activities, food and drink are subjective due to my father's condition.
All staff are very approachable and friendly. The building and decor needs refreshing, brightening up. It would be nice for a more comfortable room to be made available for visitors to chat to their relatives in private as the bedrooms are too small for this purpose. I don't agree with the prices though, very high, especially if self-funding.
My mother has been in St Michael's since February 15th 2013. At the beginning, there was a few teething problems, but over the years her care has been the best that I could ask for. Not only do they care for my mother, but also myself, if I have any worries there I have a lovely manager and her team which I can speak to. St Michael's meets my mother's needs 100%.
I was placed in St Michaels by NHS as a rehabilitation bed. I needed a hoist to transfer from bed to wheelchair. The care provided got me confident enough to have a hoist and an adjustable bed at home. I was very soon using a Rotunda for transfers.
My mother has dementia and has been a resident of St Michael's Care Home since 2017. On my visits, I have always found the staff approachable and friendly, with the home looking clean and tidy. My mother is settled here, enjoys her meals and the weekly activities the home provides. The Staff used to take my mother to another Care Home in Waddington, to visit my late father, which we really appreciated, as we do not live locally.
My dad stayed here for a few months. They saw his dementia advance very quickly. The staff were kind, considerate and offered dignity to him and us, as family. I would recommend them for caring for loved ones - not always an easy job.
My Husband was at St Michael's and received the best love and care I could wish for. It is obviously extremely hard for relatives when your partner has Dementia, but he was treated with respect, his room was always clean, the food was excellent and the carers go out of their way to look after their residents with a smile on their faces. Thanks to you all from us both.
