View Full Details of RedcoteThe staff are happy and have been with Redcotes for a considerable time, which shows they are caring and compassionate. For me, this is a good way of knowing what the home is really like, if the staff team are happy, then the patient will also be. My aunt is happy at home, which is important to us as a family. The manager ensures she speaks and is visible to the patients, which is also an important aspect of care within the home. My aunt is always well-presented, her room is nice, and she always has plenty of books, which is important to her. Thank you, Redcotes, for making her last few years happy and allowing us as the family to know she is safe and well cared for.
Mum has been a resident since mid-2019, so for well over five years. She had got to the stage where her condition meant she was unable to look after herself independently without some serious risks. In this time, I have not needed to question her care, state of well-being or health condition. I get to know quickly if Mum is ailing or if there is some change in her overall health. Mum's mobility is impaired and the management and staff handle her carefully and sensitively. There have been times when Mum's deteriorating condition may mean to me she may need more specific care. The manager has always communicated well and reassured me that when the time comes, then there will be compassionate due process. I take that to mean Mum is in capable hands. If I do ask a question, I get a prompt answer. Redcote is not purpose-built, it may look a little dated and bruised in places. It's a lived-in home. I take it on that expectation. That is the only reason to drop a star or two.
I had a number of issues with my mother concerning her general nutrition, medication, her safety, and security living on her own and being partially sighted. Since moving to Redcoats her general and mental health has improved considerably, almost certainly the result of a team of caring staff from the top to the bottom. Nothing is too much trouble. The manager goes to great lengths to get to know everyone and their needs. The food is freshly prepared and varied, and can be served in either the dining room or the resident's room, but is always very good. From our first visit, both Mum and I felt a warm, comfortable atmosphere at Redcoats with a good level of stimulating activities. Redcoats is an older building with lots of character but If I were to be critical I would suggest a refit/decoration of areas such as the bathrooms etc. but generally, it's the management and staff that are the stars of Redcoats who take such care.
Very friendly, warm and genuine staff, nothing is too much trouble. When you walk through the door it is evident that there is plenty of Love. It is a struggle when a loved one goes into residential care but the Redcoats team does their best to make the change as easy as possible it soon becomes home from home.
A calm, cosy residence run by caring and friendly staff. Dad frequently commented on how much he liked the home-cooked food. The manager was always available to speak with and advise us. She also kept us very well informed.
My Mum is a resident at Redcote. She is 86 and has mobility issues and Alzheimer's and it became impossible for her to remain at home and take care of herself. She started going one day a week during the Summer and moved in full-time in early October. She has settled in there really well and tells me how caring and wonderful the staff are and that the food is very good every time I go to see her. I can see for myself how genuinely caring, kind, and attentive the manager and her dedicated team are. I can not recommend Redcote highly enough to look after your loved one.
My mother has been a full-time resident at Redcote Residential Home for the past two years. During that time her care has been excellent and she always says how happy she is there. I am able to visit at any time and am always made to feel very welcome. The staff have a lovely rapport with the residents and their families which gives a warm friendly atmosphere. There are a range of activities planned for the residents to enjoy on a regular basis and at special times, such as Christmas, there are parties and events linked to the season.
Redcote has a warm and welcoming environment where visits are encouraged. Staff care for residents with compassion and highly respect their dignity. The menu is varied and activities suit the resident's needs. Over the last six years, we have been reassured that the best care was being provided. Many thanks.
My Dad has been staying at Redcote for nearly 3 years. This place has been a godsend. The staff are, without exception, brilliant. They are friendly and helpful and you can really see that they actually care about their residents, it's not just a job. They really get to know their residents (and their families) and talk to them about their lives, they provide them with companionship, which is vital for the elderly. Every time I visit they have a story to tell me about what my Dad has been getting up to. They keep a keen eye on his health and are very quick to seek medical advice when needed. The food is all home-cooked and Dad enjoys all his meals and home-made cakes and desserts. The home is clean and Dad's room is always kept tidy. When you visit it's like visiting a family home, it's such a lovely friendly, and welcoming environment. In short, I am thankful to have found somewhere that truly cares about their residents and where my Dad is happy. I highly recommend it.
My experience with Redcote is over and above the 5 stars that I can give. My Aunt has been a resident since March 2023 and has settled in amazingly well, she is very sociable and thrives on company which she lacked from living alone. At Redcote all of the carers do exactly that, they care! It is a lovely informal home from home and has become an extended family, it is a massive undertaking to keep everything running smoothly and somehow the manager does it very well. There is always time for a chat and a laugh but obviously, the serious work gets done too. I think part of its overall charm is that it is not too big and that makes the personal touch much easier as you get to know everyone. Long may it continue and I recommend it at every opportunity!
The care given to my mum is outstanding. The manager is friendly and will answer any questions I have regarding the care of my mum. My mum always tells me they are like her family. The home is always clean. Even throughout covid, every effort was made to allow visits. Mum tells me the food is lovely and it is homemade.
