View Full Details of Sandbeck HouseMy dad didn't want to go for respite, but went and now he doesn't want to come home! So it must be making him happy. The staff are so friendly and really hard working. Everything is spotless and clean. I'm very happy my dad is in their care.
My mum spent the last 3 years in Sandbeck House. I was apprehensive about mum going into a nursing home to be honest, but my fears were unfounded the first time I went to see mum the staff was so friendly and welcoming. The manager was so informative and patient explaining the care side, medications and any medical procedures mum was going to have. The care mum got was exceptional and I could phone mum any time and even have face to face if I wanted to. When you walked into the home it was like walking into a big extended family the residents all seemed happy there was a lot of banter between staff and residents which was lovely, nothing was too much trouble and the staff was all very caring and patient towards the residents. Mum loved it there and I can't say thank you enough to the manager and her team.
To the management and all the team at Sandbeck, thank you so much for your outstanding care of my stepfather in the last few weeks of his life. He was only at Sandbeck for 3 weeks, but from the moment he came to you, to the moment he passed away, your level of care was over and above anything we could have hoped for. With us living so far away, you kept us well-informed between visits. He was very happy with you and as his condition deteriorated and hospice care was offered, all he wanted to do was stay in your care. You have an exceptional team! Thank you.
Efficient Staff who are very caring and friendly. Comfortable rooms, good food. Do activities with the patients to keep them active. The home is clean but could do with a coat of paint here and there.
My dad has lived at Sandbeck for a number of years now and always says there is nowhere else he'd rather live. The fact he considers it home says a great deal. I have always found the staff to be caring and compassionate - both with residents and loved ones; available to speak to, promoting open and honest conversations if there are any worries or concerns and making the time to listen, and respond to, the views of residents and their loved ones. My dad has always enjoyed the range of activities regularly organised - be they in-home or out-and-about. There are frequent themed events organised which loved ones are invited to and which are always enjoyed by all. In what must be at times a challenging and stressful sector to work in, I've always felt that the Sandbeck staff team prioritise patient care above all else; care that also extends to the loved ones of their residents.
My mom was left in the lounge all day and there were little no activities, they used the TV in replace of face-to-face contact. My mom was only there for one week's respite. She has come back in a very poor state, her mental health has suffered. The home was understaffed so she was not taken to the toilet when she needed and the home desperately needs renovation. My mom suffers from mobility and Parkinson's. I work all over the UK in care homes and hospitals. I would never recommend this place to anyone ever again.
I find the staff very friendly and approachable. Residents are not just plonked in a chair and left in the lounge. I visit at different times and there are always staff interacting with residents. The food always smells and looks appetising. The residents always look clean and the home itself is clean. My dad has dementia and I feel the staff have a good understanding of this cruel illness. They are very good with him. I, myself have been shown compassion and support - what a great team.
Before his death, my brother had seven good happy years at Sandbeck House Care Home where I frequently visited him for days out and reminisce times past in childhood. More recently I stayed at Sandbeck House following a period of hospitalisation. I cannot speak highly enough of the care, accommodation, management or staff.
Since entering permanent care my mother's health has improved dramatically and she is calm and content. She has the odd moan about boredom but she doesn't see too well so doesn't occupy herself like some of the others. She enjoys the food and thinks her room is very nice. She says the staff are lovely and kind. I like the fact that I can visit at any time without an appointment and the staff are very quick to keep me up to date on any health issues. I doubt I would find a better placement.
My father was a resident at Sandbeck House and we were extremely impressed with the care, compassion and professionalism of all the staff team. They work extremely hard to give residents a good quality of life. They cared for my father in every aspect of his personal needs with extreme dignity. The father was made to feel at ease. I would thoroughly recommend Sandbeck to anyone needing to make the difficult decision of using residential care. I have given staff my details so if anyone needs to speak to a genuine relative I would be more than happy to speak first hand. Well done Sandbeck you are first rate.
All the staff are caring, they work very hard. It would be good ifthey could give time to get the residents walking more, the ones that could walk when they came in because once they go off their feet there's no going back. The staff put a lot into making special occasions fun and eventful.
We chose Sandbeck House as it had al friendly atmosphere, good facilities including a lift. Good levels of security with front door, secured (you have to be let in and out by a staff member). On site laundry and meals are cooked onsite and all the residents seem happy and alert. Overall it felt like a nice B&B by the sea. My mother had end stage dementia and was cared for and attended by the friendly, professional and dedicated staff. She was treated with respect. I cannot speak highly enough of this care home and staff. I was informed of every detail to do with mums care and could ring and visit anytime. We were lucky to have such a place for mum.
Caring and attention at all times.
Very understanding staff, keep us informed even when we can't visit.
The staff are very helpful and friendly. Sandbeck facilities appear to be good and clean. Sometimes staff appear to be stretched to their limits but always come across as caring and have helped my father settle in after spending over a year between hospital and home care. He now seems content, a lot of this is down to the care and stability the Sandbeck staff have been able to provide.
Friendly and caring staff. Mum went from hospital into Sandbeck and they were kind and supportive helping her to settle. She enjoys the company. Her room is bright, she is always well dressed and cared for and I know that she is safe which I and her family appreciate.
The staff are the best asset to this establishment. They are so friendly and caring to both residents and relatives. All committed to giving the residents a good and lively living as is possible in the circumstances. Each resident is treated as an individual and given personal care. I would say however that the décor could do with an update and redecoration, especially in the lounges. I do feel my mother is in safe hands and I do not worry about the care she is given. She is dressed, washed and fed each day with sympathetic patience.
I go twice a week, sometimes in the morning and sometimes at night to see my aunt.
