View Full Details of Stones PlaceWhen looking for a residential home for my mum I used a really simple criteria, which was "would I like to live there?" When it comes to Stones Place, the answer was a very clear "yes, I would". What has really impressed me is how the management sets the tone, they clearly muck in with what needs to be done, whether it is helping out in the dining room, or helping residents to speak with their family members over the phone. The food is good and there is a varied set of activities, which includes trips out to local amenities. I looked at 10 different homes and this home is by far the best. Also, you don't have to be a Methodist (or even a believer) to be a resident, you can take or leave the Methodism and have as much or as little as that as you wish. Like I said, I would live there. I feel very confident in the care that my mum receives. Highly recommended.
After living on her own for nearly twenty years moving into a care home was a huge change for my mother. The staff at Stones Place were very understanding and patient. They encouraged but didn't force my mother to join the wide variety of activities available. Three months later and mother wouldn't want to go back to living on her own. She is now part of the wonderful community at Stones place. The staff are very friendly and supportive. Mother has made some friends. Now I no longer worry about over medication, falls on the stairs or diet.
Two years ago it was necessary for my mother to move to a nursing home. It was not an easy decision by any means. However, the care and compassion that has been shown to my mother every single day has been heart-warming. She is a private persona and this has been taken into account in every way. When family visit we are all greeted with smiles and tea and biscuits and made to feel that we are part of this very comforting and warm home. We are grateful.
My Mother has been a resident at Stones Place for nearly 7 years. Previous to that she attended day-care at Stones Place when this was available. During her stay, she has received exceptional care. The staff are always attentive, supportive, and caring. Now that the renovation has been completed the home is clean, well decorated, and given a very good first impression on the entrance. I believe it to be one of the very best care homes in the area. This was reiterated at the Xmas party when I met new families who had chosen Stones Place over many others they had visited.
Stones Place has restored my faith in the care system. I promised my mother I wouldn't let her move anywhere I wouldn't live myself. I looked at lots of homes. Then I found Stones Place. My mum has gone home. The staff, the attention to detail, the care, the warmth and the welcome. Mum is safe and happy. I can relax. Thank you.
Our aunt has been a resident for over 3 months. She is happy, has no worries, has settled well and made friends. The home is spacious, calm and peaceful. Residents are encouraged to say what they want and their wishes are respected. The home is excellent in providing activities and outings. The staff are lovely and helpful and the residents are never rushed.
I have spent two lovely weeks at Stones Place. I was rather apprehensive at first but enjoyed every moment. Very kind considerate staff. My room was tastefully decorated. The food was excellent with a very varied menu. A beautiful house and grounds. I am looking forward to my next stay in September.
Fantastic care. Very caring, friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. My father's very happy.
The building is clean, the food is good, and there are plenty of activities, but above all, the staff are extremely caring and are all willing to go the extra mile for the residents and their visitors. This place exceeds my expectations in every way.
The staff have been friendly, accommodating and welcoming from the start! I have heard many good things regarding Stone Place, and it had lived up to those good reviews.
The carers are such warm, thoughtful and friendly professionals. The team make huge efforts to make events memorable for the residents and special for their families. The environment is kept spotlessly clean and tidy, and the food is of good quality and variety. The lady does a great range of activities for residents, and there is a lovely feel to the whole place.
The care my mother received at Stones was outstanding. She was very unhappy to try respite stay but settled very quickly due to the compassionate and skilful staff and the attitudes of everyone inclined. Full marks also to the domestic staff and the chef - meals beautifully presented and tasty. Kevin, the Italian Greyhound, is a wonderful bonus! Thank you all so much.
My mum sadly passed away in Stones Place last week. The care the staff gave to my mum in the last year was absolutely amazing. Every member of the staff truly obviously loved their job and the residents. I have no words to express my gratitude on the day Mum passed, and they have been as kind to me as they have been to Mum in the past year. It was a privilege for me to be part of the home, and I hope to continue to visit.
Well, on the morning of her birthday, the staff came in with a flowerhead dress that lit up and a sash that said queen for the day and birthday cards from the morning post. Breakfast and lunch were great, Mum loved it. Then there was the afternoon tea with even more surprises with cards and presents, Mum got emotional, but she loved her day. Massive thank you to all the staff at Stones Place.
My mother has been a resident with Stones Place for four months now, and since her stay, has shown so much improvement in her mobility, memory and overall well-being. I cannot say enough praise for all the staff's kindness and support for her and for keeping her dignity at all times. She has been given so much motivation throughout her stay, which I'm sure has contributed to her ongoing improvement. Meal times are always something to look forward to. Thank you!
All the staff are dedicated to ensuring that the residents are entertained and cared for to a high standard. During the "lockdown", the staff went above and beyond to keep the residents interested and occupied and to feel like part of one big family. As we emerge out of these restrictions and trips and the use of 3rd party entertainment becomes more regular, the happy family atmosphere is wonderful to see.
I was looked after very well for my two weeks of respite care.
Dad was made very welcome and was looked after extremely well. He enjoyed taking part in the activities that were arranged, even leading some at times to help out. As a family member, I was greeted warmly on my visit and made to feel welcome. Top drawer care.
Extremely friendly and welcoming staff. Home in a lovely setting with various places to sit and enjoy the area.
My mum (92) lives with us, and I booked her into Stones Place for a short respite while my husband and I attended a wedding and visited family. This was her third stay, and again, Mum reports being so well cared for. Mum was a little upset one day, and the assistant manager went out of her way to comfort Mum, which she really appreciated. Mum says that the whole team work so well together to provide a supportive and caring environment and to meet the many different needs of the residents. It means I am able to relax while away from home, assured Mum will be receiving the support and care she needs
