View Full Details of Ashfield HouseMy friend was very well cared for and treated with dignity at all times. We were always made welcome by staff, who remembered who we were (we visited every week). Staff were always friendly and caring. The home was very clean with lots going on for residents.
My Dad has loads of praise for the staff here. He tells me they do look after me here. His room is always clean. The bed is always made. Dad is always happy. When he first came, there were a few things to sort out due to his personality, but the staff have nailed it! Thank you.
My mother has been at Ashfield House for 3 years now and we are so pleased with how she has been looked after. The staff are so kind, and nothing is too much trouble. If there are any issues, they contact us straight away.
Ashfield House has always had a lovely welcoming atmosphere. It is a lovely building and kept clean and tidy. My Nan has lived here for a number of years now and at the age of almost 102 years is now receiving end-of-life care. Sadly I and other families have had cause to complain about the lack of end-of-life care she is receiving now. There have been insufficient numbers of staff to attend to her meaning very long gaps in personal care. I have spoken to the current manager about these concerns over the phone and over the last couple of days things appear to have improved somewhat. I do plan to have further conversations with her regarding the end-of-life care provision. As an ex-nurse of over 30 years, this is an area in which I have a great deal of experience and it is why I have noticed and identified the shortfalls in care as I and other family members spend time sitting with Nan. Would I recommend Ashfield House? Yes, I would.
The attitude of some of your staff to the person I visit is very poor.
What a wonderful home for my nan, I was apprehensive that she would be very anxious moving from home but she is in great spirits. The Christmas entertainment and atmosphere were lovely and she enjoyed singing along to all of the songs! The staff were very accommodating to the residents and us as guests. I am very safe in the knowledge that Nan will be well looked after here.
The care from staff has been outstanding. They cater for everything my mother requires. I would recommend to anyone that the care is absolutely brilliant. My mother settled in very quickly and she was happy here. I find I don't worry about a thing with her care, she will miss this home.
Nan came in as an emergency following a fall at home and was unable to care for herself. The manager assessed her with the deputy the same day and facilitated the move into Ashfield House seamlessly. In the three weeks she has been here she has been able to recouperate and has been guided to rehabilitate herself to be able to go home. She has been treated with dignity and respect throughout and has eaten fabulously! A big thank you to all the wonderful staff at Ashfield, you all do an amazing job.
Very pleased with the residential home. The staff are very caring, nothing is too much trouble.
My Dad always looks well cared for. The home is always clean and tidy and odour free. I am always updated with my Dad's changes.
I have visited my mum at Ashfield House c. monthly over the last couple of years. Even unannounced, my mum is well dressed, well groomed, comfortable, happy, relaxed and confident. Today, for her 104th birthday, the Ashfield team had decorated a room with customised posters, provided tea for her visitors and worked with us family members to make her day special and perfect. I am so immensely grateful to one member of staff in particular and the Ashfield House team for the care, empathy, patience and support that they evidently give to our mum every day. I have experienced another care home in another area where my dad stayed in the early 2000s - I can safely say that Ashfield House is on another, higher plane, and I sleep soundly knowing that my mum is beautifully cared for every precious day of her life. Thank you to all the Ashfield team from the bottom of my heart.
My mother-in-law has been at Ashfield for the last 3 years, and we have been so impressed with how she has been looked after. It was her 104th Birthday today and we would like to say a big thank you to all the staff who went out of their way to make it a special day for her.

From Mum’s initial assessment to moving into Ashfield House, the staff were supportive and empathetic to the enormous decision that we were making as a family. The staff have an excellent understanding of the complexities of living with dementia. We were able to arrange Mum’s room before her moving in, which helped her transition. The staff are treating Mum with dignity and respect and they have been so welcoming to all of her visitors. Nothing is too much trouble. Ashfield House is a real home from home.
Since Mum moved into Ashfield House she has settled in really well. She has been made to feel welcome by all the staff. She is well looked after and cared for and she loves her en-suite room. Visiting is made really easy and we as a family are also made to feel welcome.
