View Full Details of Oak Lodge Care HomeAugust 2022 my cousin could no longer cope on his own. He went into Oak Lodge Care Home and immediately felt at home. All the staff were very friendly and caring. He was given help with his personal hygiene, any worries he had were talked through and solutions found. He wasn't very sociable but with encouragement he did venture down to the lounge and took part in some activities. If he didn't feel well or had a pain, carers were on to it and if necessary the doctor was called. This was exactly what he needed at this time. He was certainly cared for extremely well.
This is a nicely situated home in a pleasant area. The staff are all friendly and very helpful. They will help you with any problem if needed. The carers are efficient and polite. The drinks are with a lot of choice and the food is nice, also with choice.
I have been a resident for two years. Very happy with service.
Very happy to see my Mother-in-law settled in nicely. The staff are friendly, even got offered a cup of tea and cake. Clean and tidy and she's happier than living alone.
My Nan is happy here, she has new friends and she sings a lot. I was unsure how I would feel visiting her but since I arrived I felt good about the home. Everyone was being cared for well, Nan remembered me!
Oaklodge will do whatever is needed to help settle you in. My Mum needed lots of modifications for her to be able to move in with them, but they found a way and now Mum is the happiest she has been in a long time with her new friends.
The staff are great; they keep me really informed. They make my friend feel like he is being listened to and is well looked after.
Oak Lodge is a small care home which is exactly what we needed for my mum. She has been here 5 weeks and whilst it has taken her a while to settle in, she is well cared for and has stimulation from activities., the company of other residents and also a lovely room to have quiet time in. It has more of a homely feel than the nursing home she was in previously.
Since coming in April 2003, I find the home satisfactory, wonder how they do it, it's really marvellous. I think, myself, it's very good.
September 2022 - 95 year old father-in-law visited for one week respite care. This was his first ever visit to a care home. The care and support from every member of staff was absolutely faultless. On top of the daily three meals, he was regularly offered tea/coffee and biscuits, and his last day was finished off with a few games of dominoes (One of his favourite games). Well done to all staff; my wife and I were well impressed. If there is a negative it would be the room he was in, although it was a nice room with a TV, and en-suite bathroom, unfortunately, it was on the top (second floor). There is a lift but there are a few steps down from the room to get to it. If there had been a room available on the ground floor the respite visit would have been perfect.
My mum moved into Oak Lodge Care Home in September 2021 which was a difficult time with Covid and the restrictions as we were unable to view in person. We took a gamble after a video tour and Mum moved in. I can honestly say it was the best move for our mum. She is very happy and tells me all the time how kind the carer’s are towards her. Whenever I have a query I always get a prompt response. Oak lodge is like a family and feels like it when you walk in to visit. There is always a warm welcome. Well done to the manager and staff. You all do an amazing job.
Since my mother moved into Oak Lodge Care Home at the latter part of 2021 we have found the management team and the staff to be amazing. From the assessment to her moving in the whole process put us all at ease, and from the offset she was made to feel very welcome and at home. It truely is a home from home, whilst remaining professional and caring. We are regularly updated with emails and love to see all of the activities on social media, the residents look like they all enjoy them, this was one of the things my mum particularly wanted. Despite the restrictions with Covid, we have been kept up to date with all changes to visiting which we totally understand as the priority is protecting the staff and service users. We are more than happy with the standards and service that my mum receives.
My grandmother has now been at Oak Lodge for a few months. The whole process of moving her there was very straight forward and the staff took account of her needs as well as likes/dislikes from the outset. There are always plenty of activities during the day, and I know she enjoys interacting with other residents. The staff always treat her with respect and keep us up to date with how she is doing.
My Grandma has lived at Oak Lodge Care Centre since September 2021 and has been extremely welcomed and has settled in very well. This was the 3rd care home she had been in in a year and by far the best. I can definitely relax now I know she is being well looked after. As a family, we are kept up to date with covid procedures and protocols and I feel that my grandma is being kept very safe. There is lots of daily activities that she can join in and encouraged to join in with as well, the best bit is being able to see her joining in daily on social media. Since being there my Grandma is always dressed immaculately with her hair and nails done and I feel is being well looked after. The only negative I feel that sometimes her room is untidy with laundry not put away or the floor hoovered. Overall I am extremely pleased with the care my Grandma is receiving. Thank you to all the staff and management at Oaklodge.
Mum became a resident in November 2021, following a weeks trial visit beforehand. Her dementia diagnosis reached a point whereby the family felt that despite excellent care at home, she would be safer in a setting with 24-hour care and the company of others. Mum agreed to this but did waiver in the build-up to the move. I was able to settle her into the home and get her very pleasant room set up to include treasured belongings and keepsakes. Unfortunately, Covid has meant that visits and indeed visitors have intermittently been limited, but with each successive visit, I have personally noticed an improvement in Mums temperament and wellbeing. She enjoys the food, has joined in with various activities (including exercises, crafting and cooking) and enjoys warm relations and good-humoured banter with staff. Sometimes it is difficult to get through by phone but the Manager promptly responds to emails. It’s a relief to us all to know that Mum is happy.
My father moved into Oak Lodge Care Home summer of 2021, he settled in well, I’ve visited most weeks since and have found the staff helpful and attentive. I’m welcomed every visit and find my father in good spirits. I find the contact between the home and myself when he has problems like a fall are excellent and continue to feel as much a part of my fathers care. Friendly, helpful and kept clean.
My wife has been at Oak Lodge for three months now, and prior to her moving in, I spent hours searching for a suitable home for her. I chose Oak House, and I am so pleased I did; it is just what I was hoping to find, it is a perfect place for her needs. This is a perfect opportunity to thank the whole staff for the care a dedication they freely give to my wife. I am also impressed with their willingness to keep relatives up to date with her care. I know my wife is happy here, and that makes me very happy too.
Can't thank the care home enough for their care and dedication, not just for my mum, but towards us also. They are always helpful and try to keep everyone upbeat. They are very sympathetic to both the needs of Mum as the resident and us as relatives. They try very hard and seem to build genuine relationships with the residents. To say they create a safe environment and a home from home is all we want and ask as consumers.
It took a while for Dad to settle in, but he is doing so well now. He looks really well and is finding his feet and his place. The relief of having him so well cared for is enormous.
The staff are very kind to me and make me feel very comfortable.
