View Full Details of Sandalwood CourtI am more than happy with the care my mom receives. All the staff go above and beyond to make sure all the residents are taken care of.
After the recent loss earlier than anticipated of my mum, dad had to be placed into urgent residential care. Sandalwood Court luckily for us as a family came to our rescue. The staff are wonderful with him and have really brought him out of his shell with his dementia. He is happy and settled which has brought such a relief to us at this sad time.
I had a week's respite as my wife had to go to hospital for heart problems and we were met by staff with much love and kindness, very welcoming. The home looked amazing with all the Christmas decorations and I just knew I was going to be happy. I had a lovely week, all the staff were very attentive, looking after me and caring to all my needs. Thank you all.
This is the first time experiencing a care home for one of our family. We have felt leaving my mum in very capable hands as she is being well looked after in very homely surroundings. The activities team are amazing at making everyone want to join in with them. We are so pleased we picked this place for Mum, she is happy and safe.
Didn't think Mum would have left her room when she first arrived but by the second day, she was joining in the activities (amazing). We are happy to leave her knowing she is being well looked after. Everyone is so nice and friendly.
I always find the staff caring and attentive. They engage with the residents in a friendly kind manner and seek to provide different ways to make their lives fulfilling and enjoyable. The staff provide seasonal celebrations and decorate the different floors to a high standard making the environment fun and uplifting. The residents are offered a variety of activities every day and have numerous entertainments from outside sources. It is lovely to see the residents joining in with singers that visit the home.
Amazing staff- careful, polite and professional. Everyday entertainment activities to make the residents feel more homely and make them happy. Well-designed, organised sitting areas. The resident's room is nice and clean and provided with needed equipment.
We have been very happy with the whole experience since Mum moved to Sandalwood Court. Everyone from the top down has treated Mum with dignity and respect. During her last month here I don't believe she could have received better care anywhere. Staff were always available to provide updates and any assistance required. Although Mum was confined to bed she still received excellent care and was always clean and comfortable. The atmosphere is always welcoming. No complaints at all.
We came to visit my nan today. The staff are always very friendly and caring. It was quiet today as many of the residents were upstairs for activities. Nan was happy and well looked after like she always is. We brought some old photos of my nan and her family. The staff were happy to come and have a look and talk to Nan about her family members.
My mum was at Sandalwood for 4.5 years. The care Mum received was exceptional. The staff on the top floor were great. Many thanks. Mum had to leave because we were told she needed more nursing care and was sent to another setting. She has been in there for 5 weeks. After 3 weeks Mum had 3 pressure sores. None from Sandalwood. She was being left in bed all morning. I visited every day and complained all the time. The hygiene care is not good, she doesn't seem to be bathed or showered often. And her incontinence pads are left wet and smelling. They don't seem to have the staff to look after all the residents that need extra care. Why oh why did they make me move her? She was so happy at Sandalwood.
Wonderful, clean and tidy care home with friendly, kind and compassionate staff. The resident was apprehensive when first moving in but has now settled in well and loves it. The staff are amazing with him and helps him to remain independent whilst keeping him safe. The staff truly care about their residents making sure they're well looked after and contact with families is great too.
I honestly can not review Sandalwood highly enough. Every member of staff no matter their role are absolutely amazing and have gone above and beyond. They have not only been fantastic with my family member, they have also been a huge support for myself when navigating this next step. I was so scared putting a family member in a care home and I felt a huge sense of guilt wondering if I had done the right thing, but the support of the staff showed me that I made the right decision. They truly are an amazing team and they are not just doing a job they care about their residents and are a family.
Looked after Mum with great respect and care. I cannot thank the staff enough for everything they did for Mum.
During my mother's time spent at the home, she has been treated with respect and the care given to her has been outstanding. She felt safe and asked not to be moved to anywhere else when she was asked about her feelings on the home. Sadly she became ill and deteriorated quite quickly and she and us as a family were given the best care and support possible.
I would like to say a big thank you to all the management and staff who cared for my mother in her last few months and days of her life at Sandalwood Court. The care she received was outstanding from everyone.
I can't thank Sandalwood Court enough for the care they gave my grandmother in the couple of years she lived there. It was a real home-from-home and the staff really understood her and accepted her likes and dislikes. A big highlight was having her hair and nails done on a Tuesday morning! When visiting, we were always greeted with smiles from the staff and they were never too busy to chat and update us on her progress. In the weeks leading up to her passing, the level of care and attention she received was incredible, along with family too. We were always offered tea or coffee whilst sitting with her and nothing too much trouble. Thank you so much for everything - Sandalwood is a wonderful home.
From the moment my nan moved into Sandalwood Court she was given the highest quality of care. For 3 years the staff were friendly and chatty, taking genuine interest in their residents and family that visited. We felt no guilt at her needing to live in the home as she was so very content to be there and couldn’t sing staff's praises high enough. Unfortunately, we recently lost my nan, but the care that she received in her final months and the support we received as a family was far beyond over and above. Remembering conversations and names and always quick to give us something to smile over on the hardest of days. You made saying our final goodbyes so much easier and more pleasant than if she had been in hospital. If I had to recommend somewhere for others to send their relatives, this would be my first pick without a doubt.
My mum moved into Sandlewood Care Home between Christmas and New Year 2023/4. From her initial meeting to assess her needs to moving in and settling in, every bit of her transition was very smooth, and every aspect of it was about meeting my mum’s care needs. From my mum being in hospital to now settled in Sandlewood, her physical and mental health has improved 100%, and this is down to the kindness and care shown by all the staff at Sandlewood. This is from the domestic staff up to the home manager and deputy.
Wonderful staff always happy to help and answer my questions. Mum is always clean tidy and happy when I come in to see her. The activities they have here are twice a day and are fun packed again well-supported by the residents and staff. Mum is so happy and content here I have no doubt that I am leaving her in capable hands of the staff and feel she is well-loved.
Mum first joined Sandalwood as a resident in February 2023. To say that we were dubious was an understatement. Nobody wants a loved one to go into care, but we were struggling with Mum's Alzheimer and we felt this was the only option. Since moving in, the care she has received has been exemplary, and the support we have received has been over and above. It has not been without its challenges, as Mum has had her moments, but we have been so impressed that behavioral changes were not dismissed as just part of her illness and were investigated fully and medication adjusted. Mum has settled in well and enjoys the daily activities (crafts, games, dancing, and singing) - to name just a few. The staff certainly kept all the residents entertained, and the Christmas activities and decorations were brilliant - certainly exceeded my expectations. I would like to thank all the staff for their continued support of my mum; you are all wonderful.
