View Full Details of Belvoir ValeMum has only been in the home for two weeks but she's loving it, likes being pampered, likes her room, bed, food, everything really.
Mum is battling Alzheimer's and has been for over 5 years. We've just had her first respite (one week) at BV's dementia unit. I visited many homes before making a decision including large brand new businesses. BV is highly resident-focused, caring, kind, and clean. Mum has put weight on and enjoyed 3 cooked meals/day plus copious drinks and biscuits! She's come home much more mentally alert and is also cheerful - an improvement from pre-respite. Thank you to every staff member who helped us from day one (The two men from Maintenance -moving room furniture around for safety) and to one staff member in particular for helping with baggage on leaving. BV's care staff showed only patience and dedication. A couple of issues I highlighted were dealt with promptly and in full.
Right from day one everything was all we could have wished for. Nothing was too much trouble and we were kept informed with everything that was happening. All the staff without exception seemed to be focused on one thing, the welfare and comfort of the resident and for that we can't thank them enough, knowing Dad was getting all the area and attention he needed meant so much. His older brother actually said we always had a fear of care homes but now we have seen this place that fear has gone. Dad was only in for just under 3 weeks but in that time all we can say is thank you for your amazing work in making him comfortable to the end.
I am continually impressed by the kindness and care of all staff members, from maintenance, laundry, kitchen, to personal carers, senior nurses and admin. Nothing is too much trouble, residents and family are always welcome at whatever time. Thank you.
My dad passed away recently. I would like to say a massive thank you to all the staff at Belvoir. My dad was only at the care home for a short period. He moved to be with my mum. They spent the last few months together. She continues to be at the home. The staff looked after me and my brother throughout this traumatic time. They treated us all as part of the family. Thank you again.
Mum resides in Gatehouse, which suits her level of dementia. The staff are wonderful and caring; they look after Mum very well. When I have raised queries or issues, they have been dealt with efficiently and professionally, to my satisfaction.
My father has only been here for one week, but in this time, he has enjoyed and settled down to his new life. He thinks he's in a hotel. The food is not bad - missing my food, he tells me! Loves the view from his window (the garden), but, still early days. Thank you for having him; he's a kind, sweet man and will not bother the staff in any way.
Pleasant atmosphere. Very good food and cleanliness. Helpful, cheerful staff.
My aunt has been a resident at the Belvoir Vale care home for two years. During that time she has received excellent care and attention. The staff are simply superb and care about every individual in the home. The organisation and professionalism of the management is exceptional, particularly communication and meeting the needs of family members visiting the home. We cannot praise the home highly enough. My aunt hopes to spend many years in the home and we will continue to enjoy visiting her.
My mother moved to Belvoir Vale Care Home four weeks ago. Initially she was very anxious and needy, but by the fourth week she was more calm and settled. The staff had got to know her and found that she needed to be distracted and occupied, especially with music. This has been very comforting for me knowing that she is in good hands. I ham sure my mother is living at the right place for her needs and managing the dementia.
We could not fault the staff. Everyone was considerate, careful and always keen to treat Mum as an individual and accommodate her wishes. We were saddened, therefore, to have to make the decision to move Mum to another care home that is more accessible for her friends and former neighbour to visit, especially those reliant on public transport. We would not hesitate to recommend Belvoir Vale to other families. Thank you for everything.
My mum moved into Belvoir Vale in November 2021 and passed away there in February 2023. I am so, so pleased I found this care home for her to live in. It is a homely and comfortable place, with nice rooms and a garden and wood nearby. The staff were very attentive, caring and helpful and Mum and I enjoyed the time there, and going out together to nearby cafés. Care was always good, and in the heatwave of summer 2022, the staff did everything they could to enable residents to stay cool and hydrated. The needs of individuals were put first, and care included outings, games, exercise, entertainment and religious input for those who wished this. I would also like to commend the staff's support of relatives like myself, who are coming to terms with the loss of their loved one to dementia, as well as their ultimate death. Support and information were given, arrangements were made to see the home's GP and intelligent input was given over end-of-life care decisions.
My aunt became a resident at Belvoir Vale at very short notice following a fall and subsequent discharge from the hospital. The management is very empathetic and understanding. The care my aunt received for latter-stage dementia was reassuringly good. Some members of the team were excellent and went the extra mile in terms of kindness and care. Following my aunt's death we were treated again with much kindness and respect.
Belvoir Vale is a very friendly and homely care home. The staff are very welcoming and efficient and really seem to care for the residents. There are also many activities organised for residents who wish to participate. The food is homemade and looks delicious.
Our mother needed some quality food, attention, physio and care after a broken femur in December. Finding Belvoir Vale was just amazing. We are very pleased with her care, all the team are beyond brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble. We call and speak to Mum on the phone if we don't have time to visit, I feel bad calling when everyone is so busy, it's never a problem. Attention to detail is remarkable. Mum even has poached eggs on lovely toast for breakfast, in her words, better than she would have made herself! Well done team, Mum is getting stronger every day.
Mum had a prolonged period in hospital after a fall and moved into Belvoir Vale initially for some respite care. From the very start, the staff were welcoming. warm and caring. We feel great reassurance that she is well looked after and safe. Everyone is so friendly and willing to help. A really lovely environment.
I'm really happy with the care home and staff. House is very clean and the food is good.
I came here in February 2020 and have been treated with respect in every way. I have been lucky enough to make good friends. Food has been good and plenty of it.
The staff at Belvoir Vale have made mum feel so welcome and cared for as a new resident. The meals are very good and the staff cater for all needs. There are regular activities and trips out that mum enjoys and they also arrange many events on special calendar dates. The staff always seem to find the time to chat with mum and her family even with their busy schedules. I feel Belvoir Vale is very homely whilst still being professional and highly organised.
Felt at 'home' as soon I walked in. I knew right away this was the place for my mother. I cannot praise the staff highly enough for their kindness during the last days of mums life. All people closest to her that visited were treated wonderfully, with nothing too much trouble, and the cups of tea and sandwiches kept us going. Even found the time to make her great-granddaughter feel special and included. So grateful to you all.
