View Full Details of Braywood Gardens Care HomeMy mum has been at Braywood Gardens Care Home since October 2021. I am aware that in May 2024 the home was inspected and deemed inadequate. However, our experience of the home has been very good. The carers are excellent and genuinely care about the residents. I visit three times a week and hold them all in very high regard. There is an excellent well-being team who organise a range of events and outings for residents. Laundry staff, cleaners and kitchen staff also adhere to the highest standards. Everyone goes above and beyond. The home is spotlessly clean and feels homely. I feel the place is well-managed and standards are high in all regards.
I just want to say a massive thank you to Braywood for supporting my mum, I was apprehensive at first about care as I was unsure if this would be right for my mum. My mum has always got a smile on her face every visit! As a son who loves his mum and can't care for her, seeing the staff treat my mum like family has made me settled. Braywood is like a little family, and the staff are great. Always approachable and have time to talk. They post lots on social media which is good to see what's going on, the manager is supportive and often helps with the activities in the home. This is great to see. On my last visit to see my mum the laundry woman was having a good laugh with my mum, it means so much to me. Thank you Braywood Gardens
I would like to say a massive thank you to all at Braywood Gardens. Whenever I come with my Dad to visit my friend we are always welcomed. All of the staff are lovely, you can tell they treat their residents like family. There is always chatter and laughter from the staff with the residents and visitors. Braywood is such a lovely home. It's always clean and well-decorated. The meals look delicious. A little cafe that visitors can sit in and help themselves to drinks, this leads to a lovely garden. There are often special events, and family and friends are welcome. The home manager often sits at reception doing her work, always has a smile and words as you enter, very easygoing and approachable. Wonderful too that her assistance dog, Mac, is at the home, this truly makes Braywood Gardens a home! Just want to give, to every staff member, my heartfelt thank you! For all that you do for all of the residents in your care, I see how hard you all work and all that you give of yourselves.
My dad had a week's respite at Braywood Gardens. He was a little anxious as you would be but settled well. He was very happy, a lovely ground floor room with an ensuite, very important to him to have a shower every day. The food was good, access to the cafe for tea and biscuits and company. Staff lovely and made time to chat with him. Was checked on at night, which made him feel safe. So happy we picked Braywood Gardens. He's going back in May and for future respite.
Mum has been a resident since October 2023 and is very happy and settled. She was diagnosed with dementia although remains very aware of why she is where she is and thanks to the care and support of the staff and great leadership of the home manager, is in a remarkably better physical and mental place than she was when at her own home. A home that she was resolutely determined to stay in as she believed nothing was wrong and that she would never go into a care home. Now she is at Braywood Gardens Care Home, she realises that her life has improved and always talks of how she cannot fault the staff or the care she receives.
On the whole, the care at Braywood Gardens Care Home is good but small things (my husband is bedbound), things left out of reach (book glasses, TV controller). Also, I have been told he is having new grabrails put on his bed two/three weeks ago - still not done. He has fallen out of bed a few times. Some staff are lovely - others never speak to him. I know my husband sleeps a lot, sometimes forgets and I know he only wants to sit up in his chair 1 to 2 hours but I feel a bit more could be done. He enjoys conversation and would enjoy to go to any entertainment. We enjoyed Valentine's Day - everyone went to a lot of trouble. Lastly, recent fire drill - my husband was not warned - felt vulnerable.
Me and my son and family thank everyone who looked after my husband. Nothing was ever too much for the staff and the carers as well as kitchen, and domestic workers too. I was all thankful for them looking after my husband and our 60 years together was a lovely surprise for what staff and carers did for us. My husband was happy being in Braywood and so was I.
Dad had emergency respite for twelve days. He's had this before and hated the home. This time, he loved it! Says it's a 'beautiful place' with 'lovely staff' and food is great. This is amazing coming from my dad. Where I have given satisfactory ratings, this is down to lack of knowledge really.
My mother was in the home for six weeks respite care, after a fall and subsequent stay in hospital. On admittance to the home, she was weak and confused. Due to the care and encouragement of the staff, as well as the excellent food and medical supervision, Mum was able to gradually regain her strength and mobility. The small unit enabled her to receive individual attention, and the kindness of the staff played a big part in bringing her back to life.
This care home from walking in the front door for our first walk-around visit, I knew straight away the homely feel this care home gives to everyone. My mother has been a resident here since last August after two falls. The care she has received is absolutely outstanding; she looks like a totally different person from when she arrived. The nursing care and the aid she has received to help and support her medical conditions are amazing - they go above and beyond. The daily entertainment encourages all to attend and socialises everyone. Weekly trips out and about. There is always something to do - baking and crafting. These ladies are absolutely angels, and they love their jobs and the environment they work in. A true breath of fresh air. When we walk to the cafe, everyone asks how my mum is - their manner is so naturally friendly. The endless support the staff and manager have shown us with support and guidance has been incredible, helping us every step of the journey. As a family, we can’t thank them enough.
Mum moved here from a care home where we had raised numerous concerns over the years (some more serious than others). Yes, there are issues in most care homes, and Braywood is no exception, but the manager (who has an open-door policy) and her staff will always listen. The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly and treat Mum with dignity and respect. She seems so much happier and healthier since moving here.
Have received excellent service from the care home from the initial contact with the home to move-in day. The staff have been friendly, happy and professional throughout. They have provided a perfect room for my mum, taking into account her needs. My mum seems settled in her new home, and the carers attending to my mum are lovely with her.
Very friendly, outstanding facilities, very helpful and caring. Management is very professional as all the staff. Extremely clean and very professional organisation. Whenever I go to see my friend, everybody is very kind and extremely courteous.
This is my first experience of a care home and I must say that the service and staff at Braywood Gardens were excellent. They were very attentive and caring and very easy to communicate with. They have been very helpful. I would recommend them highly.
I have found that the staff and the service given to my mother has been excellent. I have been kept informed of important things relating to her care and she is very happy in the home and appears to be very content. Well done!
My friend has recently become a resident at Braywood Gardens Care Home and is very happy to be there. She tells me all the staff and residents are friendly, and show respect and great care for each other. I have witnessed this on my visits to my friend. The rooms are comfortable clean and spacious. The furnishings are all attractive and the whole place seems clean, tidy and attractive I have only seen the gardens through the windows but they look attractive. I am so grateful to see my friend so happy. Also, she tells me the food is good and she enjoys the activities.
My mum has resided at Braywood for over 6 years now, I know the team really well and to be honest it’s my second home as I visit mum most days. Mum is 89, frail but with, and I am blessed, a strong will. Over the past couple of weeks, things have been tough and we thought it was Mum's time. Again Mum has pulled through, as best she can, but without the support of the care home team, I genuinely believe we would not be where we are today. They are a special team and I give them the utmost respect, grateful thanks to all, today and the days going forward.
We are very pleased with the care Dad gets. The staff are friendly and supportive, they understand Dad's needs and personality. I feel he is safe and looked after. Dad praises the staff. I am so grateful for all you do, thank you!
I am very pleased with the care my mum receives. She is treated with kindness, dignity and a dash of humour, which I personally feel is really important. There are many activities available, and my mum particularly enjoys the singing.
The home is a wonderful place to be, everybody is so happy and eager to help. Receptionist is lovely, always smiling and always welcoming. Management's door is always open. My friend comments on the dinners provided and activities across the home. Thank you for all your help with my friend.
