View Full Details of Amber View Care HomeMy mum came into Amber View Care Home in August 2024 aged 98, she has dementia, it wasn't an easy decision as Mum wanted to stay at home. I cannot emphasise how much care and compassion she is receiving and it was actually the right decision at the right time. Everyone who works here is very kind and caring not only to Mum but to me and the rest of my family. Words cannot express my gratitude to all concerned in Mum's continuing care.
My dad was a resident of Amber View for 4 months following a stay in hospital. He was then unable to return to his own home. He settled well into the home, where all the staff welcomed him and gave him excellent care and attention. His condition worsened and because the staff knew him well they had him admitted to hospital. He eventually returned to Amber View for end-of-life care. The staff attended to all his needs and treated him with respect and care until he passed away. They also gave us, as a family support and care throughout the time.
My mum spent the last 18 months of her life at Amber View where her care was exemplary. All the staff went above and beyond with her care which made those 18 months so happy for her. Her family all felt reassured that she was safe and well looked after and we are so grateful.
My mother was in the care home after her hip operation for about 2 weeks and the staff were absolutely lovely to both my mother and my husband and I when we visited. There was a lovely variety of meals to choose from every day. The room my mother was in was clean and airy and while she was there she had her nails painted by the staff and also her hair done. During her stay they also organised a D-Day celebration the home was decorated up lovely and a lady came in to sing which my mother fully enjoyed. Thank you to everyone at Amber View.
Provided good care to my wife and looked after her very well. They kept her nicely dressed and kept her well-fed with a good variety of meals. They made me very welcome when I went to visit her. They certainly on the sad day of my wife's passing took care of everything and even sent two officials to my wife's funeral which gave me the chance to thank them again for all they have done.
The lovely staff at Amber View took great care of my dad when he had a stay here between leaving hospital and going home. Meals were tasty and plentiful, and Dad was encouraged to eat which helped loads! The home seemed very clean throughout. Room warm and comfortable, and different sitting areas for TV, chatting etc. Visiting was easy and there is plentiful parking on the quiet street behind the home. Visiting pets were also made welcome, which was a lovely touch. Thank you to all at Amber View for your kind care.
Very pleased with every aspect of care. All staff pleasant and helpful. No need to worry about a loved one staying here.
My mum spent the last year of her long life in the care of staff at Amber View after being admitted direct from hospital in November 2021 when she could no longer manage at home. Mum found it difficult to accept the change but with patience and understanding, she soon settled. The care and support she received from all staff was second to none. Staff were always completely honest during my phone calls. This was important to me as I live 300 miles away and couldn't visit often but when I did we were made most welcome. We became one big happy family and I was able to relax when her end of life became apparent and I couldn't get there in time as I knew she would have someone constantly with her. Amber View is the kind of care home I would like for myself if I ever need it.
My aunt was a resident here for just over a year. I cannot put into words how amazing the staff are here, they go above and beyond to make sure the residents and their families are cared for and looked after to the highest standard, they become your family. When my aunt first went into residential care I was filled with guilt, that feeling very quickly subsided when I met the staff there, they did a better job than I ever could have and gave her a great quality of life in her final year. She loved it and constantly praised them, smiling until the end. Five-star treatment.
My relative was discharged from hospital to the Jacksdale care home on 14th of May. He was afforded the greatest respect and a high standard of care. The staff were attentive and showed genuine kindness and concern. The staff were approachable and friendly. He had experienced a particularly awful experience on the ward he had been admitted to on April 16th, the lack of care, understanding, and poor communication was concerning, to say the least. He received a warm welcome to the home and we as his family are very grateful for that. Thank you sincerely to all staff.
My father was in Amber View Care Home for just over two weeks after having had a fall and breaking a bone in his pelvis, I cannot put into words how absolutely fantastic all the staff were, the care my father received was excellent nothing was ever to much trouble and the staff could not have done more if they tried and from personal experience did more than they had to, the staff actually felt like my friend when I visited rather than a staff member. I will always be so grateful to all the staff for the way they cared for my dad and again cannot thank each and every one of them for everything you did for my dad. You are all truly very special people.
My mother spent the last six months of her long life at Amber View. Throughout her stay, she was treated with the utmost care, patience, compassion, and respect. Her care was tailored to her individual needs and I could not be more grateful to all the staff for the way she was looked after. The staff were proactive in the latter stages of my mother’s life to make sure she was comfortable at all times. The staff have always been very welcoming and very willing to answer any questions or queries. I am grateful that mum spent her last few months at Amber View; I do not live locally but after visiting I could leave knowing she was in safe and caring hands.
The staff have been exceptional. A very sad day when Dad left.
My husband has only been in for 24 hours so I haven't seen enough of it to give a true opinion, but from what I've seen it seems very good.
Staff always pleasant, very helpful. Treat people like people and not animals. Sees we are clean every day. Plenty of assistance to the toilet and putting to bed. Helpful to shower if needed. Plenty to eat and drink.
As a volunteer care worker, I have worked in numerous care homes. 12/10/2021 has been my first day at Amber View Care Home. From walking through the door and being greeted by the care staff I can put my hand on my heart and confidently say I would recommend any son, daughter, husband, or wife that I would confidently let my family be a resident at this care home. Any care staff looking for work in care I would recommend they apply for a job here as it is the best home I have visited. The staff are very compassionate, have good communication skills, and always put the residents first. It has been a pleasure working here today, thank you so much to all the staff from management down to carers.
I had a lovely time, there was only one other resident in half the week and then another came but stayed in her room all the time. I enjoyed the quietness but was able to talk to the staff at times and also the visitor to the other resident. I only stayed one week whilst my family went on holiday.
My mother was in Amber View. I can honestly say I have never seen such caring, kind, compassionate people in all my life. Mother was treated with respect, and at no time did I see my mother being treated disrespectfully; they could not have been more helpful. My mum has full capacity, and I know she would have said something to me and my sister.
My Dad (91 years old) visits Amber View once a week, for the day, to give Mum (his main carer) some respite. The care and support that Dad receives is excellent and to know he's being well looked after, in a lovely clean and spacious environment, gives us great peace of mind. I would highly recommend Amber View Care Home to those looking for a very high standard overall and value for money.
Our mother went into Amber View care home for a two-week respite stay, but it was decided by my sisters she should stay indefinitely. She was being well cared for and fed with someone on hand 24 hours a day, which was impossible for her to have at home. I will say the home and the staff are excellent and I can't thank them enough.
