View Full Details of Glenesk Care HomeMy dad has had a few weeks of respite at Glenesk Care Home and is now staying permanently. We are very pleased with the care he has received. He has dementia and has settled in really well. It's a very homely place, and we would definitely recommend this care home. All the staff have been wonderful.
The care team management and staff at Glenesk have always strived to ensure that my father is comfortable and feels safe in the environment that they provide. The team regularly stays in consultation with me regarding my father’s health and care concerns and I feel that we have a great rapport that facilitates giving him the best support in this stage of his life. The team recently made a fabulous effort to engage with him with their ‘make a wish’ scheme, where the staff accommodated his request and provided him with a specific meal which they especially procured and cooked to his taste. He was absolutely delighted with the effort that the staff had gone to and raved about the meal to his family. I feel really assured that he is well cared for at Glenesk, as the whole team are really professional and friendly whilst striving to give the residents the best care they can provide.
My dad came into the care home on respite with his partner 4 weeks ago and now are going to stay permanently, all the staff are very friendly and caring and the manager is lovely and the care home is run excellently, I'm really happy that my dad and his partner are very well looked after
The most lovely caring staff here look after my dad, he has been through the wars but he is so loved at home. My mum visits every day and I try and get there when I can. The staff are so kind, I know we all worry about him but we know the staff would tell us if there was anything wrong. We know he is safe. I can't say how grateful we all are to the home for helping us and looking after him and Mum when she visits. Thank you, I've still to meet the boss of the home.
Mum has been at Glenesk Care Home for over 3 years. Standards of care is extremely high. Staff treat residents as their own parents with dignity and respect. They go over and above their role as carers. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The manager is approachable and open. Always made to feel welcome.
Had a good time here. Everyone is good, and I got on with the staff and got on with the residents.
My aunt has been a resident for almost two years now, and I cannot praise the staff highly enough for the care they provide for her. The food is excellent, and the activities designed for the residents are testing and stimulating.
My elder brother was taken to A & E following two falls at home. On discharge, it was felt that he would be unsafe to return home on his own. He was admitted to Glenesk Care Home. My only connection with the staff there has been at the door or by telephone. They have all been very helpful and appear to be very caring. Due to the covid, my brother had to stay in isolation when he was first admitted early in December. He was made to feel very welcome and has since spent time with others over Christmas and new year.
The home offers a very caring approach to looking after residents. I had a major problem that impacted my mum, the home supported my mum with her concerns and worries over the situation. My mum feels safe and secure in the home and says it's like a hotel.
This is a lovely home, my nanna was with this wonderful team for approx 2.5 years, she was cared for and cared about as though she was family. During the Covid lockdown when we couldn't visit, we were kept informed on how she was doing on a regular basis and although we couldn't see her we had no concerns about her care. We sadly lost her to dementia in December, the staff were fantastic, kept us informed of any changes in her condition and when she passed we know she was surrounded by people that genuinely cared about her, we cannot thank them enough, they really are all angels.
Glenesk staff cared for my mum until she passed away in August. We found their care excellent and couldn't do enough for you. Especially there palliative care. Mum loved it there and thought of it as her home. She loved all the staff who were always friendly. They are still caring for my aunt who also loves it there. The staff go above and beyond. I and my family would highly recommend Glenesk. They have all been angels through such difficult circumstances.
My dad came to Glenesk for a few weeks in November to recover from an infection and for respite for his partner. All of the staff were so helpful and friendly. As I live 150 miles away, it was reassuring that I felt he was in a safe place. Recently, he went back for a few weeks and I really felt the staff cared about him and put a lot of heart into their job.
Always felt welcome going to the home. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Excellent care is given to my mother. Always informed about the care of mum. Feels like one big happy family.
I have found the home to be very welcoming and approachable. Its size means residents are more part of a family than an institution. Steps are underway to update the décor with thought to the needs of the residents and with quality items. Staff are caring and can get to know individual needs.
Mum has been in this care home for 6 months and has settled in very well, she has dementia but has 24-hour care which is first class. She is treated with dignity and is well cared for. The staff are excellent and caring and I would have no problem recommending it.
Having a partner as a resident in Glenesk Care Home, I can recommend this home as a safe and best care facility in the area, the management and staff, are of the best in their care of residents, including entertainment, birthday parties and Gala days. In the large garden, there are singing sessions to stimulate the residents and regular visiting groups and artists, this stimulates both mind and body. I am giving the highest recommendation to the management, the staff, and all who assist in running this home, which in my view should be the level other care homes should try to reach.
Glenesk is a comfortable, welcoming home. There is still a bit of décor to be done but I am certain it will be carried out ASAP. Things are being done in order of importance for residents, not just visitors. Management listens to the relatives suggestions and if at all possible takes them on board. It has improved so much in the last 4 and a half years my father has been there and I can honestly say, if it was not for the care and attention he has received there, he would not be here. I have recommended Glenesk to my friend for her mother.
Dad is well looked after and the food is excellent
A very friendly care home where the staff work to excellent standards. It is well managed by a team that is focused on giving the best patient-centred care it can. The days are structured well with numerous activities taking place that are well lead. The home cooked food make meal time enjoyable, but it is the caring attitude shown by all the staff that Glenesk should be most proud of.
