View Full Details of Hatzfeld House Care HomeI would like to say a very big thank you to Hatzfeld House for their amazing care of my mum while she was there. They treated her with dignity and compassion. So kind and caring. Sadly mum has passed away now. But I cannot thank Hatzfeld House enough. I was also made very welcome and even had dinner with my mum. She had to go to the hospital a few times but the staff here were always with her. Thank you everyone. Fantastic staff
Hatzfeld: an oasis in the desert of dementia care. My husband's Alzheimer's was advanced in November 2016. After shockingly neglectful care in 2 of 3 previous homes, his immediate improvement was astonishing. He became calmer, more content and ate again. It was a huge comfort to me to see how experienced, well-trained and compassionate this wonderful manager and her team are. He received the best possible care. Care staff were always compassionate and friendly, however busy, and said how my husband was doing. During 2018 his health deteriorated, requiring frequent hospital stays. Hatzfeld staff stayed with him there until I arrived. He died in November 2018; two members of the care team attended his funeral. Impossible to express my heartfelt gratitude for making my husband's final years the best possible. A tough job, done with professionalism, humour and insight. Residents' quality of life is at the core of everything at Hatzfeld; this made life tolerable for me too.
My sister was a resident at Hatzfeild House for four years until her passing in June 2016 aged 58yrs. Her health needs became increasingly complex during her last decade demanding 24 hour care and finding a suitable place was challenging. Hatzfeild House was immediately welcoming -light, airy and modern with a wide range of excellent facilities to encourage independence and preserve dignity. The staff were always friendly and genuinely keen to meet whatever my sister's needs presented. The high standard of care she received was upheld by the manager who was always approachable, available and strived to ensure individual needs where met. My sister really loved this place and we witnessed her becoming, a happier person, which speaks volumes to us, her family and has been a great comfort to us during this time.
There is a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, the staff are hard working and professional they go out of their way to make the residents feel at home and cared for. The home has achieved good in five key areas of their CQC inspection report. I think the staff have worked hard to achieve this result. I am happy to have my 93 year old mother in their care and cannot fault the home of the carers.
Everyone there is kind and helpful. Mum has been there 6 years now, she has her marbles and she is 96. She complains now and again about trivial things but has always had care and attention from everyone there. They always get someone straight away to see her legs if they brake out, and always inform us of any situation weather it be outings or doctors. It is clean, the food is good and it doesn't smell. I would recommend anyone to go in there as it is comfortable and they don't sit in a circle. If anything to say about it, the wall lights are a bit bright and it effects mums eyes.
We used Hatzfield for respite care prior to a permanent place becoming available so knew it well. It was far superior to other respite homes we had used in that it was a small compact unit (not an anonymous large establishment) clean and tidy and specialising in dementia. The staff all appear well trained, friendly, helpful and caring towards the residents and visitors alike. They endeavour to provide a range of activities to stimulate and entertain residents ( we have been to quite a few so know first hand). Relatives are kept well informed of all home activities and more importantly the residents continuing health problems and treatment.
