View Full Details of The Hazelford Residential HomeStaff all really friendly, facilities well kept and feels welcoming and trustworthy, lovely setting and the staff make it a wonderful home. A little TLC to the building would be beneficial but overall a really good experience.
When meeting staff & management they were friendly & helpful & the ethos of management was everything I wanted for my dad. The home is in need of some updating but the care is what is important to me as I have worked in the care sector myself.
My father has only recently moved to Hazleford and we have all been blown away by what a positive experience it has been. The staff and manager are simply brilliant, working so hard and showing real genuine kindness - not a skill that can be faked. Even the maintenance man introduced himself to me and had a chat - I was made to feel so welcome. The fact that family are welcome any time is so reassuring. The building is old, but lovely and most importantly clean and fresh smelling. His room is great, and he is loving the food - I don't know if all care homes give 2 choices for lunch, but I was quite envious ! Overall, the team at Hazleford have taken what was a difficult stress filled situation for us, and made it positive. Thank you
During the six months that my father has been at Hazelford, I cannot fault the care he is receiving. The entire team make sure that not only he, but that the family, are involved in every aspect of his wellbeing and are supported through changes. As his needs become greater so does his care. The recent evaluation of the residents due to the risk of flooding must have been very difficult for all concerned and thanks again must go to the staff for minimising the effect on the residents and re-assuring them. We were updated as to not only where my father was being transferred, but very regularly given news on how he was settling. As a family we could not ask for more. Thank you to the entire Hazelford staff for your compassion and devotion and helping not only my father but the whole family through this time.
My Mum has only been at Hazelford since late December, but the manager and carers know her so well and show her so much care and attention. I'm amazed at how much effort the team put in to really get to know Mum and make sure they meet her needs. Yes, the building could do with the attention, although clear but it's the care that makes this place special. If it was a hotel and judged on this alone it would be a 5-star! Thank you so much.
Everyone seems pleasant and happy and helpful. One of the residents was asking for her glasses, they got broken and she wanted them to be able to see properly and have a go at writing. I hope this is followed up as she did tell someone so when I next visit she has them as she couldn't see me well enough. Everything great here.
I have been really happy with the care my family member has received. Staff are always bright, helpful and attentive. We have regularly wanted to visit outside usual hours, and this has been made possible by staff being so helpful. Residents have wide-ranging needs, and the approach of staff has always been attentive and caring, in sometimes, challenging times.
My mother-in-law has been resident at The Hazelford for several years and we have always felt that the home has provided a safe and caring environment for her. The staff I have seen with her are caring and respectful towards her whilst retaining a sense of humour. The home and its staff have been particularly good at encouraging and developing her mobility which was very poor when she first became resident. The Hazelford is an old repurposed building - not always easy to maintain but it is good to see continuing investment.
My husband has recently moved from respite to full-time residential care at Hazelford. From first approaching the home I found the manager and staff very welcoming, caring and genuinely interested in making my husband feel as settled as if it were his own home. I visited several care homes before choosing Hazelford, it was the one that gave me peace of mind that he is not only safe but cared for and cared about. I am also made to feel so welcome when I visit. Thank you to everyone for the amazing job you do.
I have always found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. The only thing I'd change would be a refurbishment of the rooms.
Staff are always friendly and attentive. Mum has built some great relationships with them. An old building that could do with a refresh but the team are doing a great job of getting to grips with the place.
Great care and support from the staff and management. Excellent food and drink. Overall experience was great.
Friendly staff, clean and welcoming. The new manager has made massive improvements. Since the last time I came it seems more organised and it is easier to navigate to the rooms.
Really friendly, and always a warm welcome. The staff are great with everybody Was very unsure about my dad coming here because you hear stories but I am very pleased and have peace of mind knowing that my dad is in a safe place and well looked after. A big thank you to all the staff and the wonderful job they are doing.
Excellent facilities, always welcoming and friendly staff. Every time we come to see Dad he's always happy and well cared for. Thank you to everybody who works here, all your hard work is very much appreciated.
A well-run very relaxed homely atmosphere where all the staff are friendly, efficient and very helpful.
I visit a friend on a regular basis and although the staff seem very caring they are obviously under a lot of pressure.
My ratings are based on a weekly visit of one hour per week when I visit a friend who is a resident.
The staff at Hazelford cannot be faulted. They are the kindest, most caring people for which we are eternally grateful. They are so kind and considerate to our mum who has been there for nearly 4 years. We are always made to feel very welcome whenever we visit. We are regularly updated with anything to do with Mum or the home. Please just continue to do what you do in the way that you do it as Mum seems very happy and content. Thank you again to all of you.
My wife has been a resident for six years and have seen two ownership changes, several manager and multiple staff/carer changes. Despite this Hazelford has progressed, modernised, reorganised, and improved standards. All staff are warm, welcoming, and friendly, regularly updating me in relation to the care, welfare, wants, and needs of my wife. I'm highly satisfied with the standard and level of care my wife receives and how all staff interact with her.
