View Full Details of Leawood ManorCare home was amazing Staff was brilliant Well looked after all through her stay
January 2023, to date, my mother has been resident at Leawood Manor. From her residency, she has had great care. The attention is first class. The patience, empathy, nurture and attention is remarkable. My mother has relaxed in a small peer group, which meets her needs. Some residents are more gregarious than others and those that need more encouragement to join in the social activities within the home get it. The staff understand and attempt to match all residents' needs through their observations/assessments. Cultural, religious and personal needs are celebrated and respected from my observations and with an open door policy of the management, I feel confident that any concerns will be heard and can be addressed quickly. Furthermore, the residents and relatives meetings is a great way of communicating. To absolutely all the staff, a big thank you for providing peace in knowing that our most precious loved ones are not invisible and have a voice and matter, in a safe environment.
I have found Leawood Manor excellent. My friend enjoys it here very much. The staff are wonderful and spoil my friend rotten! The care is excellent, they always take the time to listen and reassure. Many thanks to all concerned.
My mum was a regular visitor to Leawood for respite care for 2 or 3 weeks at a time whilst I was away with my work. She got to know the staff really well. They always looked after her so well and really did everything they could to ensure she was happy and comfortable. Mum was very bright mentally but got frailer over time with the years but I always had complete peace of mind that she was being well looked after whilst I was away. She spoke so highly of all the staff and I always found the managers so supportive and helpful to me as a daughter and a carer and all that entails. That care to me extended to when Mum became ill and hospitalised and I was wanting to bring her back to Leawood but it was not to be. Mum sadly passed away at the end of January 2024. The manager was supportive to me on the phone at that time and I am so grateful for that. On a happier note, I donated our piano to Leawood and I understand it is bringing much joy to residents. Mum would like that.
The care which my friend receives at Leawood Manor enables her to lead a fulfilling and anxiety-free life and continue doing the things which mean so much to her, despite having dementia which was causing her great distress before she came to live here. It gives great peace of mind to know how well her health needs and dietary requirements are being managed. All the staff are so friendly and professional.
My lovely mum who I’ve looked after at my house for 6 years needed some extra care and having been recommended to look around Leawood Manor I was absolutely blown away by the welcome and genuine interest in my mum. She immediately agreed to move in and I absolutely cannot fault her care from every single department. It is immaculately clean and everything they do is about what’s right for the residents and for the first time in a very long time I am not worrying about her. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
Leawood Manor has been absolutely fantastic in settling my nanna into their homely way of living. The warm smiles and reassurance have been honestly so greatly received through the good and bad days and I will be recommending Leawood to absolutely everybody. My nanna is extremely happy here and we cannot thank the team enough for everything they do every single day to make Leawood a home-from-home experience. Thank you, Leawood for everything!
You only have to walk into Leawood Manor to feel the warm caring family welcome from the home manager and from so many of the staff. The carers work hard along with the excellent well-being team to promote that warm supportive feel. My husband was very settled at Leawood and both of us were very sad when he was unable to remain. Hope one day he will be able to return.
My sister has recently come to this wonderful home. The care she receives is just excellent. She enjoys every meal, her bedroom is so comfortable, and the staff are all kind and especially helpful. They are more like friends than carers. We as a family could not wish any better for her.
Our 95-year-old mum has found the transition to living in a care home - very traumatic. The last 5 1/2 months have been extremely stressful for her and myself, the family and your staff. During this difficult period, we have been impressed by the care team with their patience, kindness and willingness to help mum. Her room "the flat" is always clean tidy and spotless giving off a positive mood. The food is fantastic, smells good and is presented well. There is always a choice of meals and puddings. Although mum does not participate in any of the activities eg entertainment, crafts, music, gardening. They create a feeling of community, belonging and friendship for all residents. Our family and my mother really appreciate all the help given to us by the management and staff. We realise this is a demanding occupation at the best of times. We always feel confident that mum is being treated well and that she is safe and secure in a care home that offers a high degree of quality and performance. Thank you and well done.
Mum has been very happy since arriving at Leawood Manor. The staff are exceptionally caring, helpful and kind.
My father spent his last few days at Leawood. We found all staff friendly, efficient and helpful, making every effort to make Dad's final days as comfortable as possible. I am especially grateful for the sensitive support and care given on his final day to him and to the family.
Always welcomed with a smile from the staff and nothing was too much trouble. Akways helpful with anything. I would recommend Leawood manor to anyone. Excellent care home. 100%.
My mum has just had two weeks of respite at Leawood Manor. She looked well when I collected her and was walking better than before, so obviously has been well cared for. The home is very clean, with a calm, pleasant feel about it. Visitors are welcome. I was impressed by how polite the staff were. The manager is a very pleasant, calm and professional man who obviously cares about the residents and staff. I wasn't expecting my mum to be overjoyed with her stay as she is very reluctant about going into care, but she had nothing negative to say and admitted everyone was very kind and helpful, so thank you.
Our father was very independant and so was a hard decision for him and us to move him to a care home. Once there, the care he received was excellent with all the staff being friendly, caring, compassionate and above all professional. Although his stay was relatively short we were greatly comforted by the fact Dad was being extremely well cared for.
Following a fall at his home, my father moved into Leawood Manor Care Home for two weeks of respite care and stayed on until his passing away. Although there for only two months, the staff at the home very quickly got to know him and cared for him with great love and respect. They were also very welcoming to me and the rest of Dad's family. The accommodation was clean and bright, the food very much to my father's liking and there were always plenty of activities to join in with, particularly over the Christmas period. As Dad's health deteriorated, the staff looked after his medical needs very attentively and were quick to contact the family and involve us in discussions whenever required. I take great heart from the knowledge that Dad's final days were spent in such a loving and caring environment as Leawood Manor and that his passing was as peaceful as possible.
Mum had (almost) 3 happy years at Leawood Manor after moving there after a broken hip. She settled in well, initially for respite, then agreed to stay permanently. She had an ideal balance of privacy in her own room, plus opportunities to mix with others. Staff were always friendly and available to help, and management were good at addressing any concerns if raised. Mum's main carer was good at liaising when any medical or care issues arose. The setting is quiet and semi-rural with nice grounds, good food and clean and well-decorated throughout. During the Covid times staff were helpful with garden visits, social media portal calls etc. The only minor quibble is that sometimes she would be wearing clothing that wasn't her own, also shoes sometimes went missing. I would highly recommend this care home, we liked the atmosphere as soon as we walked in.
My mum moved to Leawood after a short time in another local residential home where she was struggling to settle in. Straight away, the staff at Leawood were so engaging and quickly became aware of the support that Mum needed to reduce her anxiety and confusion. They would encourage and support her to join in the activities they knew she would enjoy and also helped her form friendship groups which were so important, as Mum wasn't a confident mixer. Mum was at Leawood until she passed earlier this month, and I can honestly say that whilst it is a really difficult decision to make to move a loved one into residential care, Leawood did everything they could to make this feel like home. Right up until the end, they were kind, considerate, respectful and caring to both my mother and my family.
Our mum went into Leawood Manor on the 2nd of December and as soon as we walked in we got that really warm homely feeling. The staff, in my opinion, went way above and beyond to make Mum feel very very welcome and could feel the love and affection coming from the whole team, from the manager to the support staff. The team leaders again in my opinion showed true commitment to looking after all the residents with wholehearted compassion and love. Mum was only there 12 days before she passed at 01:50am this morning but we as a family couldn't fault the professionalism and compassion they showed towards her in her final hours. As sad and upsetting for us to lose our mum, the whole team from the manager to the tea ladies were so compassionate towards us and feeling the grief we are suffering. We would highly, highly recommend Leawood Manor to any family that needs total care and love for their loved ones in their time of need. Thank you so much for all you've done for us.
My mum needed to move to a care home following two quick breaks in succession - both requiring hospital stays of several weeks. The manager was extremely understanding and caring. Mum was offered a place that could have been for just recovery or longer if she wasn't able to cope on her own. She has been there coming up for a year now. The staff are very helpful and caring and I am confident she is being extremely well looked after. They are keen to look after my mum's mental health as well as her physical health. My mum's friends who have visited have also commented on how good the home is (they have visited others) and how kind and friendly the staff are.
