View Full Details of Orchard HouseOur family visit my mum regularly in the care home. On 18th December we joined Orchard House, a large number of residents and their families at the local pub for a Christmas meal. The event was very well organised by the staff. The safe care taking residents to and from the pub. Everyone had a fantastic time.
The manager and her team organised an incredible Christmas meal for all the residents at the local pub. All the carers were involved to ensure that this was such a wonderful experience for the residents and their families. Previously the manager organised a pub lunch for the male residents. The manager and her team always go above and beyond for the residents. The kindness and care they all give is just amazing.
I have found visiting Dad at Orchard House very welcoming, both for my dad and any visitors. All staff are friendly and approachable, happy to help. They have welcomed Dad into their care very well and he now seems relaxed and happy.
When my dad was admitted into Orchard House, he was very poorly, the family were prepared for the worst outcome. However, due to his treatment and care from the staff, he not only has settled by, he now has a quality of life. I have seen my dad dancing and freely walking around. He is cuddled by everyone. As a family, we are truly thankful that he has been respectfully treated.
So much love, kindness in the home. Such as special place, the care is amazing and my mum has settled so well.
Mum moved to Orchard House 2 weeks ago and appears to be settling well. All the staff are friendly and the manager and staff have been very supportive, both when we initially visited to view the home, and since Mum's arrival. The home has a very nice conservatory and a lovely big garden which the residents are able to use, especially in the summer months. The home hosted a fireworks display last week on bonfire night and it was good to see so many family members joining the staff and residents on the evening. Our initial impressions of the Home have been very positive and we hope Mum will be settled and well cared for. There appears to be a calm atmosphere in the Home which contrasts favourably with where she was before. Thank you to everyone involved in Mum's care.
I always find that all the staff are very proactive towards my mother's care. My sister and I have every confidence in the knowledge that our mother is getting the best quality care we can ask for.
I am so pleased that I found this care home for my Mum who had dementia. There is a warm, caring welcome every time you visit. The team are highly motivated and are all busy helping residents with kindness and dignity. The management team are brilliant. The residents are all engaged in activities and are calm and well cared for. Activities are regular and provide fun for the residents. A beautiful garden, used by residents too. Highly recommended by me and my family. Thank you to the staff.
My uncle has been at Orchard House for a good few months now. I feel that the management team are excellent at passing on concerns updating us with our relative's health issues. I find the carers to be very kind and caring, nothing is too much trouble. Also the kitchen staff very kind and compassionate. On the whole, I find Orchard House to be well run, very clean and welcoming. Well done. 10/10.
As a family we have felt very fortunate to have found this care home. Originally the home to both our parents, now the very much loved and enjoyed home to our mum. The Victorian building and its large mature garden are very well kept and the decor updated continually, giving a very homely feel, but it is the management and the staff that make this care home a comfortable home. The staff greet you with smiles and are all so caring with the residents. The management are very approachable whilst making improvements to the home continually. Mum's words are as she sits in the garden, 'I love being here in my home, the staff are lovely.'
Since Dad came to Orchard House, he has been well looked after and has settled well. The staff make us feel welcome when we visit each week. One suggestion would be that it would be nice if relatives were emailed with details of forthcoming events to attend, as we all love to attend and be with Dad.
My dad is really looked after in Orchard House. He is very settled and has been since he became a resident 15 months ago. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. They always keep us informed of how Dad is. The lady who is now the manager is amazing and an asset to Orchard House. All the staff are a credit to the village.
Since moving to Orchard House from another provider, my mum has completely transformed from a withdrawn, silent stranger to the happy, engaged person she used to be. The staff have been wonderful, and they and the other residents have been so welcoming. The atmosphere at Orchard House is so friendly and happy. I'm so, so pleased we found Orchard House for Mum.
This home is excellent. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient right across the board. My husband was taken into care at this home in March of this year and since he has been there his condition (mentally) has improved. They do their best to make him comfortable although he is bed bound. Nothing is too much trouble.
My wife is looked after very well and is treated with dignity by all the staff. The home is very clean and also has beautiful gardens. The management keeps me up to date with her care.
My wife’s parents have been in this facility for three weeks now. So far we have been very satisfied with the level of care and attention they have been receiving. We have made multiple visits at various times of the day and always found the place to be clean and tidy with a full complement of staff on hand. There are ample planned activities during the day to keep residents busy and, in good weather, lovely gardens in the rear of the building to enjoy. The staff have thus far proved to sincerely be interested in the residents well being and seem to work at positively engaging them. At this point, I would give this location two thumbs up.
We have had the most wonderful experience with Orchard House. As we entered the challenge of choosing a care home for my 93-year-old parents, we have been so appreciative of all the guidance, support, top-class care and gracious kindness that we have been given from all, and I mean all, of the amazing devoted carers at Orchard House. Everyone has gone above and beyond to welcome my lovely parents and our family into this new sunset of our parents lives. It is clean, fresh, immaculate and most importantly, a home filled with love and kindness. We really are appreciative and we feel that our beautiful parents are part of a new family that treat each other with dignity and grace. We have an incredible amount of trust in the whole team at Orchard House. Thank you.
I am really impressed with Orchard House, when I came to look at Orchard House I know as soon as I stepped inside it was a fantastic care home. When she was admitted it was so lovely as she didn't want to come at all and the staff had a little welcome cheer and that made her happy.
Home smelt of urine on entry, bedroom had toilet in a cupboard, you could only sit on it with doors open - lack of respect, dignity. No drink offered resident on three visits as had visitor. Staff very mixed, do not demonstrate caring, not engaged. No contact details taken from me or signing visitor book if outbreak of Covid, I would not choose to place my relative here.
The care, love, commitment and friendliness of Orchard House staff is outstanding. They have become family friends and are doing the most wonderful, precious job looking after our mother. They have just been brilliant in every way. Their communication is excellent and approachable to any problems. Thank you for everything. Orchard House is a beautiful old house with different areas and an amazing garden, perfect for dementia residents.
