View Full Details of Sutton Manor Residential HomeMy father has been with you for only 4 weeks for respite care after a hospital visit. I have witnessed nothing but total care and compassion for my father at all times. I would have no hesitation in recommending your home to anyone. You have all been superb, thank you.
Mum was transferred to Sutton Manor straight from hospital for rehabilitation after having a hip replacement operation. From the moment that Mum arrived, she was welcomed really warmly into the Sutton Manor family and so was I and my brothers. We were always greeted by name, which was much appreciated and invited to join in with the many activities, if we were around. The activities were very varied and good fun. The carers were compassionate and very hardworking. The manager and deputy manager always made time for a chat and always did their very best to respond to any requests, despite their demanding workloads. The rehabilitation co-ordinator was very efficient, supportive and encouraging. We knew she shared our goals. The meals were all home cooked and looked delicious. I would certainly recommend Sutton Manor and applaud the leadership team for creating such a caring and stimulating place for their residents. We are very grateful to everyone who works there.
My Mother was very well looked after in terms of both physical well-being and activities to keep her brain stimulated. She was very happy in the home. The management and staff always took time to talk to her and visitors.
This is her second respite care visit. I would not take her anywhere else. She loves it here—the company, the care, the stimulation, the food, and her room. I have total confidence in this care placement.
A very thorough, thoughtful, and caring management. More than happy to hand over my friend for respite care. Beautiful accommodation and a gentle approach to a gently and anxious lady. She didn't want to return home!
The staff at Sutton Manor are very approachable and helpful in all aspects. They are always welcoming and ready to listen.
Sutton Manor is fantastic and very pleasant staff. Would recommend it to anyone. 5 stars!
My mother has been in here for 5 and half years. She is 94 years old, still going strong and recovers from all problems with the staff being amazing. I think she would not be here now but with the constant care/work from staff and management keeping her in the way she used to be.
I have never broken a bone in my life and only been in hospital to give birth to my children. I have found this home wonderful. It has the standard of a good hotel. Lovely clean and decorated rooms. All my friends and family are very impressed. The food is excellent with great choice. I think a nursing home is the quality of the staff and I would say the staff are absolutely excellent. Their care and kindness are the very best possible. They are wonderful and give 100% to everyone. I am grateful to all.
Thank you so much for what you do for my mum. She has had some difficult times. You have helped Mum and me all the way through. Mum loves it in Ashmere. She loves her carers and all the friends she has made. Thank you Sutton Manor for everything you do.
The care and support my dad has received since he became a resident has been nothing short of perfect. He is so loved and cared for, to such an extent I had no hesitation in choosing Sutton Manor for my mum's respite care. I have equally been looked after by all staff and the management whilst navigating the solutions for my mum's care. All the staff are Angels and are so incredibly empathetic. It's become a second home for me!
The home is warm, clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff are all friendly and professional and do all they can to help the residents with whatever they need. There is a good range of activities to occupy the residents and help to pass the time. Thank you to everyone there.
Excellent home, everyone was very friendly and couldn't do enough for our uncle. He enjoyed every minute there. We couldn't praise the staff enough, everywhere was lovely and clean.
My Grandma was taken to Sutton Manor as part of a rehabilitation transfer so to say this was temporary, the staff have been absolutely amazing and we have all been treated like family. The manager has gone above and beyond to make us feel welcome and get the best doctor care, treating my daughter like a family member. The manager was always there to just talk to and that we were OK. Both the seniors, have been outstanding too. Always keeping me updated on doctors' visits and doing their very best to get information when I couldn't. Nothing was too much to ask, always had time to speak to me when I could not visit. This is the same for another lady too. She comforted me when I was upset. The other care staff have done a fantastic job too. One particular lady always kept her company at night. Another one treated her like her own grandma and always made her laugh. There is a gentleman carer, he always made sure I had a cup of coffee and my daughter a juice. There are lots more staff who have done an amazing job too.
My mum chose to go to Sutton Manor Residential Home in July 2019 after my father was taken very poorly, she needed some respite care. Mum knew that she would have a comfortable bed in her own room, complete with ensuite. All her meals would be prepared and cooked and she had company. She could rest and recuperate without pressure and and stress. She settled in quickly, making friends, joining in with the activities, felt happy and safe, she had the company she needed during a difficult time. The manager and all the staff were excellent, supportive, attentive and cared for Mum so we, as a family, had no worries about her. We were free to see her and were welcomed as part of the 'family'. Mum decided to remain at the home and has been happy there, which is so important. Although mum has dementia the care still is a priority for the team at the manor.
Following a leg injury, I spent five weeks here and I was very pleasantly surprised and impressed with the experience. The spacious dining room and huge lounge were made good use of throughout the day by residents of all abilities. A good many dementia patients, some very difficult to handle were treated with much patience and affection. I saw only rare occasions when a staff member showed annoyance, even when struck or shouted at. Given the varying abilities of patients/residents, it is difficult to offer entertainment but groups are got together to play simple sports games (seated in a row) or flower arranging etc. Visiting specialists help too and the SA come each month to organise a hymn sing-song. Food is plentiful, and flexibly timed around noon and five pm. Breakfast is provided as soon as a resident arrives. Drink rounds are surprisingly frequent and offer extras such as a milky drink, hot chocolate and biscuits on demand. Hygiene is emphasised and washing is returned on the next day.
My father, who suffers from dementia, has been a resident at this home since December 2023.He is now a lot happier than when he went in, eating better, drinking better, happier within himself and smiling virtually all the time. It is a pleasure to visit him, as I can see the positive difference in him. The staff care for him and always comment on how nice he is. The manager is fantastic and she really cares for him, recently on a day trip, she decided that he would be cared for by her, how wonderful. In the last few weeks he has been on two trips out, one to Skegness at least two hours drive away and the other a trip down the River at Newark, so they chartered a boat. They bring in outside professionals to entertain the residents and invite the Salvation Army to attend as well, which again makes him happy as he was a regular attendee of the local Army Corps. They always report any falls to the Social Services, CQC and the family. A fantastic home, I couldn't ask for more.
A very rewarding experience from start to now. I find all members of staff, carers, cooks, any junior or senior staff, whatever work or status, a pleasure to be with. The care that I have received has been without measure, they have in combination very quickly got me onto my feet and walking. I cannot thank everyone enough. Thank you all anyway.
My mum has stayed at Sutton Manor for rehabilitation following a fall where initially was at the hospital. The home is exceptional in the constant care they provide. The staff are extremely hardworking and are always cheerful and friendly. Residents were constantly stimulated with a great variety of activities. The staff would always go above and beyond. The cleanliness of the home was outstanding and the food quality, choices, amounts along with continuous drinks throughout the day was excellent. The home felt very welcoming and comfortable. This home is amazing and is absolutely right to say second to none.
I have been at Sutton Manor for two weeks of respite care and I can't fault anything. The staff are lovely and I've enjoyed all of my meals and the friendliness of everyone has been unbelievable. What more can I say except thank you all so much!
