View Full Details of The BakewellsMy mother was admitted to The Bakewells in early May 2024 as she was unable to manage herself. As a family we are very impressed with how well cared for my mum is and how cheerful and lovely every member of staff is. My mum has been well cared for and encouraged to join in with all the activities and is living her best life. We can't recommend The Bakewells enough.
I would recommend The Bakewells to everyone. Bakewells is a happy home-from-home. My sister has been here since October 2023 she is thriving and living her best life. The staff and management are excellent, they are happy and jolly. Nothing is too much trouble. The whole family is made welcome. The owners are caring and hands-on. It really is a lovely atmosphere at Bakewells. Plenty of activities. Food is excellent. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Garden is a beautiful place to sit or do outdoor activities. I cannot praise Bakewells enough.
My Mum moved into The Bakewells in May 2023. Everyone was very welcoming and she has settled in really well. The staff are all wonderfully caring, friendly, and so hardworking. Mum says that she is really enjoying the food and is now eating well. The home is spotlessly clean and the garden is a lovely place for residents to use. Mum has joined in lots of really interesting and well-planned activities, which we know she is really enjoying. We are given lots of information about how she is coping and things she is doing e.g. in the monthly newsletter and when we visit her. Thank you to all the team at The Bakewells.
Putting my mum into care was a very difficult decision to make. The Bakewells came on recommendation and we have not been disappointed. The lovely old character building means a spacious interior where residents pair up for dinner in the dining room and can rest afterwards in one of the spacious lounges. We (myself and 2 sisters) have always found the staff very caring and helpful toward mum and also toward ourselves, nothing is too much trouble. A big thank you for all your hard work, giving our mum a good quality of life, where we know she is happy.
Mum has been a resident at The Bakewells since May 2022 and has settled in beautifully to her new home. The decision to have to place Mum in a care home was so difficult to make, but we knew that Bakewells was the place we wanted Mum to be in. So welcoming and caring. All the staff are amazing and take such fantastic care of Mum and have been so kind and supportive of us and our families too. Thank you so much to all of you at Bakewells as you continue to do so much for Mum we will be eternally grateful to you all.
We have just had to put my Mum into care and this was a difficult decision. We went to visit 5 other care homes in Bolton to check them out and some we crossed off our list straight away as no way was my Mum going there. When we visited Bakewells, I was so impressed that I cried when I came out as this was somewhere I could put Mum with absolute confidence. We were so lucky that a bed became available very soon and Mum has been there for a month now and is settling in nicely. She was very uncertain but the lovely room and fantastic staff, who made her welcome and where nothing is too much trouble, means she is more settled every day. Such a relief to know she is being looked after, in very competent hands, her medication is carefully controlled and the meals are great. She looks fitter and healthier and that means we can now relax a little more.
Mum moved into The Bakewells in October 2015 as she was no longer able to manage at home neither with myself and additional care helping on a daily basis. I was dreading the day but from the minute she moved in she has been stress-free, well cared for, happy and relaxed. It took about a week or so before she accepted this was now her home and since then she has settled and is a happy, relaxed lady. My brother and I can't speak highly enough of the care mum received. The managers are very professional and caring and one is our shining star, caring for our precious mum.
Father is looked after well with support from staff and management. Makes it stress-free for me and my brothers. Several of the younger staff are excellent and they interact so well with my father and others in their care. Food, tea etc all good with monitoring of health excellent. Garden and facilities good. Security excellent.
We are so lucky to have found The Bakewells. My aunt is settled, happy and has found many new friends. The staff are simply amazing and so caring and the home is spotless and beautifully maintained. The staff are so good with the residents and families. I would absolutely recommend the Bakewells.
Always met by pleasant, helpful staff. Lovely rooms and spotlessly clean.
We live so far away from my godmother that it is the case our visits are more infrequent than some. However, it is a great comfort to know that she is in such good hands. Whenever we do visit we find everything to be excellent and we are kept fully informed at all times. Calls are answered promptly and carefully. We are delighted and grateful to have found The Bakewells and would have no hesitation at all in recommending it to anyone.
My mother was put into emergency care due to the death of my brother, her full-time carer. Bakewells was the first care home we visited to arrange for my mother's long term care. We were immediately impressed by the premises. Clean, airy, nice bright corridors with good size ensuite bedrooms. The home feels like a home, not an institution. All the staff have been very friendly and helpful both to my mother and other family members. At what has been a very difficult time. The other residents are very communicative and look very happy. We viewed other homes but they did not come close to Bakewells. We are very happy and contented my mother is a resident.
I was surprised by how quickly my wife settled in Bakewells. I found te staff to be very friendly and all the residents were full of praise for the home. The rooms were light and airy and the atmosphere was very welcoming.
Mum is happy and always well cared for.
I have not much experience of care homes until now, and I feel sure my wife could not be in a better place. Based on regular visits to see my wife, I have noticed how clean and tidy everything is and how friendly and how supportive the staff and carers are if my wife needs help.
My aunt has been in this care home for approximately 2 years now. We (my husband and I) feel that without their care and attention, she would not longer be with us. The home is a "home" and the dementia unit, where she resides is modern, bright, warm and comfortable. She has her own en-suite bedroom, with flat screen TV. Lovely garden views from her window and a team of wonderful carers to meet her needs. The sitting room allows auntie to move around freely, double doors open onto the garden (with pet rabbits) and there is a kitchen where snacks can be accessed (tea/biscuits).
