Best residential care home in Bolton. Great staff and my mum is very happy there. Could not have picked a better place for my mum to be looked after. She says the food is very good and I believe her. Plus they have plenty of activities going on.
My grandad is at The Clough. The team are fantastic and the manager is lovely. Any problems we can just speak with her. The staff are very caring and it is noticeable that the manager has an eye for detail, which reflects in the tidiness of the home. There is a new deputy and she seems really nice too. I like that there is always staff presence. All in all a five-star rating from me.
All in all the staff are brilliant and do a good job of looking after the residents there’s only one thing that lets the home down and that’s the lift it’s constantly breaking and means some residents get stuck up in their bedroom and it’s happening on a regular basis the owner of the building seriously needs to invest in a new reliable lift as it isn’t fair on the residents or the carers but other than that it’s a lovely home and I can’t fault the staff.
My dad recently moved into The Clough Care Home, from the first day he was made to feel at home. The staff are caring, friendly and also always available to discuss Dad’s needs. Every visit to Dad also includes an update from the staff on how Dad is settling in.
The staff and management are very friendly, approachable and helpful. Mum is treated with respect.
Very helpful, carers who are friendly and prioritise the well-being of people in their care.
Our friend and neighbour were discharged from the hospital into The Clough. Our regular visits showed her to be well looked after and the general facilities to be very good. We saw the quality of food being served and tasted a celebratory event buffet. They were excellent. Our friend experienced end-of-life care that could not have been any better. Staff were kind, caring and compassionate. We were also visiting another friend at a different home which couldn't be compared with The Clough. Hence he was moved there. From needing a hoist in and out of a chair, The Clough staff worked to enable him to stand and walk aided by a Zimmer. That's dedication for you. Hence, from our experience, we recommend The Clough. It is set in nice surroundings, with gardens, a patio and a conservatory. Judging by what we have experienced, residents are treated as people and not commodities.
My mum moved to The Clough on 20/10/2022. She has settled really well, never having experienced any care setting previously. Mum was at home prior to admission to the hospital on 05/09/20222. I visited The Clough, spoke with the manager and knew this was the right place for Mum. The staff are so caring, dedicated and motivate the residents to be the best they can be. It is 100% a great home.
The Clough has looked after my granny for the past six months. I have nothing but great words for the team at The Clough. This is a care home where you walk in and feel a happy atmosphere. There are numerous rooms i.e. the busy room and the quiet room. This gives my granny the opportunity to choose where she is seated depending on how she is feeling that day. Staff are always very busy but always have a smile (sometimes with their eyes if they are wearing face masks) for you. They will always offer us a cup of tea and a biscuit. The manager is lovely and often comes and asks us how we are and if everything is ok. We just know my granny is safe and looked after and we thank the whole team for this. Also, the Christmas party was fantastic and we all enjoyed it. Thank you, you are all angels.
Always found the staff very helpful and caring.
I visited my friend in The Clough today. The staff were lovely and friendly and the home was warm, clean and all the residents look happy. Staff were lovely to residents and I got a lovely feel to the place.
My mother has only been here for a few days, however, so far it has been a very positive experience. All the staff have been welcoming and helpful. The room is very nice and clean. It seems like there are plenty of activities to keep the residents occupied.
The staff have been great with Mum, in very trying circumstances. Still issues with hearing aids and glasses, but Mum not helping the situation at all. The social worker will be very helpful in being the bridge between family and staff.
My dad has been in this care home for about one month now and each time I visit, the staff are very friendly and always interactive with all of the residents. My dad is being well cared for at The Clough and has already managed to do a bit of walking on a frame. The meals are good and there's a good variety. So far, I'm very pleased with the care and attention that Dad is receiving.
My mum is very happy in The Clough. The staff are very friendly and my mum's needs are met. The food is very good and varied. The residents all seem settled and content.
My late wife's mother is cared for in an excellent environment by caring and attentive staff. In fact, I don't know how I would have managed without them!
My Dad stayed at the Clough this year for 3 months whilst he was having work done on his house. I found the Clough to be a lovely home and the staff were brilliant with him. Management was very approachable and often called to reassure me as I was worried. Turns out he loved it and he looked really good and well when we brought him back home. Thank you to The Clough.
I went to see the Clough after making a call on the same day and I was encouraged to come that day without needing an appointment. I am potentially looking for a new home for my Mum who has Alzheimer's and lives in a care home outside Bolton. I was encouraged to view the Clough after a chance meeting with their cook, who was extremely proud of where she worked and really enthusiastic about how good the home was. I had shared my concerns about my Mum during a casual conversation about what she did for a living! I was welcomed warmly by the manager and she immediately seemed warm, empathetic and caring and was quickly able to make a connection with a family member looking after a loved relative. I explained the reason for my visit and after providing PPE, she showed me around the home and an available room. I was a keen observer of all aspects of the home without making this too obvious but I saw that this was a manager, extremely proud of the care she provided.
Had to place my mum into care for a short period. I was recommended The Clough by a relative and luckily there was a bed for her. I was naturally apprehensive but after being invited round by the manager, both mum and I felt a lot more settled and reassured about her stay there. The home was clean and seemed to be well organised. Staff were pleasant and happy to help out with anything. Mum said the food was good and meals came with choices but the desserts were even better! Mum likes to have a lay in bed and get up about 9am, then she’s ready to get washed and dressed for the day. She would always receive help with this each morning then after breakfast, she would sit by the window looking out to the beautiful well kept gardens. There was usually something going on each day that she would take part in and enjoyed the company of a couple of other ladies there. All in all, I was very happy with the service provided to mum and would highly recommend to other families.
Excellent care home. Having to move my mum from another care home due to failures we had lost faith in the care system. My mum's been at The Clough for several months and we visit daily. The staff are well trained but more importantly kind. The home is managed well and any issue is dealt with promptly. My mum is treated like a person and not just a resident. The fees are reasonable and the facilities clean. Would recommend any family needing care for a family member to visit this care home.
