View Full Details of Abbeywood Care HomeA lovely Home with a bright, airy lounge for residents and well-maintained gardens. There are a range of facilities available such as an on-site hairdresser and a variety of activities for residents to participate in. The Staff are always cheerful and friendly. My Mum enjoys the food (and has gained weight) and has always looked well-hydrated since coming to live here (which was an issue for her when at home). She is safe and well looked after.
My mother has been in Abbeywood for nineteen months, she seems to be very happy and settled. The staff are all friendly and always have time to talk and tell me how my mum is. There is always music or a film on to keep them entertained, all the residents seem to be happy.
My mum has been a resident in Abbeywood since October 2022 previous to this she lived on her own, independently for many years. The staff do a fantastic job of looking after her. She has a lovely room and likes to spend time in her room along with the option of socialising with other residents in the main living area. For the first time in a long time, I know she is well looked after and safe. Great place.
My mum has been a resident at Abbeywood for almost two years now and, although she had some teething problems initially, lately I am really pleased with the way she has settled. She is content and obviously well looked after. The staff are friendly and caring and the management are attentive, informing me when my mum needs anything or she has any problems. The home is always clean and bright. There is a nice menu and a list of events to stimulate and entertain the residents. Overall Abbeywood is a good, well-run care home and I would recommend it.
No problems at all. Staff are all friendly and helpful and Aunty is being well cared for. The home is well-maintained. Bedrooms are always clean. The food is good with a good choice of menus. Entertainment is varied and all residents seem to enjoy singalongs etc.
My auntie always looks clean and well when I visit and she also has a good time with the resident friends she has made. Also, the staff say she’s always happy and singing, I have witnessed this I’ve not seen her this happy in a long time.
Continually first-class service and care. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending. My parents have been at the home for four years now and the staff are always friendly and attentive. The decor and gardens provide an excellent living space.
Dad has been a resident at Abbeywood since the early days of Covid, during that time, like others, we were unable to visit Dad, however the management team where quick to respond by providing a high-quality contact free unit to enable families to visit their loved ones, we will always be so grateful for that. Since being able to visit again, I flagged up an issue that was important to me, the team listened and acted on it quickly and efficiently. We will be forever grateful to all the team at Abbeywood for all they did during the terrible days of Covid and their continued provision of high-quality care to our dad, and support to us. I can't comment on the food and drink, I've never had the pleasure. Dad has no complaints when I ask him though.
My grandma has lived here for over four years now and we have been very happy with the care she has received. The staff are friendly and helpful, always seem to be busy with the residents, the home is clean and always tidy and the updated decor is looking fab. I would recommend this home to anyone who asked. I would also like to say my grandma has seemed comfortable with her surroundings since she first arrived and always says how nice the home and staff are.
Mum was a resident at Abbeywood for two years ten months, she was widowed. Independence and mobility were encouraged and it was her choice how she spent her time. Sometimes she chose to be alone in her room, she enjoyed to sit by the entrance, and chat with residents and staff passing by. She enjoyed days out with family. Time was spent in the well-maintained garden, tending to residents window boxes viewed from the dining room. Mum shared the canal trip, Christmas party, Blackpool was brought to the home for the day, which brought back memories of the seaside she had enjoyed whilst raising her family. We were always confident Mum was safe, warm, well fed and entertained. Visitors are encouraged and made welcome. Mum's health deteriorated and it was with great sadness, but in her best interest to transfer to a nursing home. During this very stressful time, we continued to be extremely well supported. Highly praise management, care staff, cooks, domestics and handyperson who work as part of the Abbeywood team.
My mother is well looked after and I have no problem leaving her in the capable hands of the carers. They are really quick to spot any difference in health or behaviour and get the doctor in straight away.
Very happy with the home, all the staff are pleasant and very friendly. Lots of patience with residents and treat them with respect. It was a very big thing for my mother to move into the home, after being very independent in her own home, but after a few blips, she has settled in very well and seems to be quite happy and content.
Extremely homely, friendly residential home. Staff are caring and understanding and cater to each resident's needs. Bedrooms are lovely and furnished public rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms are clean and cared for. There are fun days for the residents and food is fantastic.
Abbeywood Care Home is with a capital 'C'. My mother has been a resident since January 2015. From the start of her time, she has been looked after extremely well. The home has a doctor from the local health centre who attends the home every Monday and is in contact with families if and when required. She rang me to discuss my mother's needs a few days after she arrived at Abbeywood Care Home. The team are wonderful, the residents get plenty of entertainment and stimulation. Entertainers visits, sing songs and playing games. Some able-bodied residents are taken out on trips. The CHRISTMAS PARTY is AMAZING. And when asked how she feels about living at Abbeywood Care Home, my mother says CONTENT (what a fabulous word) 'CONTENT' - another capital 'C'.
I cannot praise the staff at Abbeywood enough for the care they give to my mother. They have given her a new lease of life since she has lived there. Whenever I visit there is always some sort of activity taking place and all the residents are enjoying themselves. The staff will always have a chat to me and let me know how mum is doing and if there are any problems. My sister and I know she is in safe hands.
