View Full Details of Whitefield HouseWe really could not be happier for my mother and for the quality of care and of the whole environment of Whitefield House. The staff are so friendly, patient and helpful - not just with the residents but also with my wife and I when we visit. My mother arrived several months ago after a spell in hospital after a fall, back then she had lost a lot of weight, could not walk and was incontinent. The staff brought her in, treated her with dignity and admitted her in a friendly, casual manner but taking care of all the details. The excellent care started there! Within a couple of months she had put her weight back on, was 'mostly' continent (she was like that before!) and zipping around on her walking frame like a racing driver! The staff have even had to tell her off for getting up and heading off without one of them being there to escort her! In short, beautiful grounds, beautiful house, fantastic care and communication with us.
Could not be happier with everything. My Father always asks how I knew where he is - he thinks he is in a hotel and always sings its praises.
I enjoy my own room, I like to sit and look at the garden and it is clean. The girls take us out to different places, also do activities with us. Food is good, washing done for us. Very good.
Enjoy the entertainment and company. Meals very good. Room very nice and comfortable.
My mum has been a resident at Whitefield House for nearly one year. My two brothers and I visit every week travelling over five hours. We have been very impressed with the level of care offered. The staff are caring, professional and always supportive. Her room is spotless and her clothes are washed regularly - the staff do not know when we are visiting, but Mum is always dressed colour-coordinated and ready to be taken out. There are daily activities designed to keep everyone active and mentally stimulated. I would recommend Whitefield House unreservedly.
When my mother required 24-hour care after a bad fall and could not manage at home anymore we looked at Wentworth House as we had past experience. My mother-in-law lived there over 12 years ago for a period of 2.5 years and was very well looked after. It was nice to see some of the staff were still working there and even remembered my mother-in-law. All areas of the house are clean and the decorating is welcoming and homely. There are plenty of activities for residents and all birthdays, including beautiful cakes, are celebrated. Public celebrations i.e. Christmas, Chinese New Year, etc. Staff participate in activities. Staff take residents who are able to outside activites. Staff are caring and encourage residents. Staff in all areas are helpful. It took our mother a while to settle, after living independently, but she will quite happily tell you this is now her home. We would recommend a visit to Whitefield House if you are looking for care for your relative, etc.
Whitefield House has been wonderful for my husband who has dementia. He has been in Whitefield House for almost 2 years and has been very happy there. All the staff and carers are brilliant and look after him well. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The house itself always looks so clean and tidy and his bedroom is perfect whenever we visit. We cannot thank them enough - we are so grateful to them all.
We chose Whitefield House for my mum in January 2021. We have been extremely satisfied with the care and support she has received during her time at the home. The staff are wonderful with my mum. They are caring and compassionate with all residents. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone looking for a supportive environment for their loved ones.
It is never easy choosing a care home, but I know we chose the best place for Dad and Mum. Care at their family home became difficult, and they moved into Whitefield House in December 2022 aged 98 and 96. The care and attention at Whitefield House are exceptional, the staff are amazing, and nothing is too much trouble. Sadly my father passed away in June, and it was reassuring that Mum was so well looked after in the difficult times that followed. The building and surrounding area are lovely, the interior of the home has been well thought out, and the rooms are of a high standard (Mum's room has a view over the garden). The most important thing is the staff, and they are exceptional. I do mean all the staff, from the office, the kitchen (amazing food and the birthday cakes they make are fabulous!), to the care staff themselves. I cannot thank you all enough for the care and attention you give. You do an amazing job. Thank you.
Our dear friend is 99 years old came to Whitefield House in July 2023. We cannot fault the manager who has been most helpful and nothing is too much trouble, the same goes for the staff who are amazing and go above and beyond. There are always different activities going on and residents are encouraged to get involved and staff take them out too. It is of a very high standard and has a luxury feel to it. The furnishings and decor in communal rooms, areas and the garden are to a very high spec and feel quite luxurious you can see that a lot of time and money has gone into the interior design, there is even a hair salon on site. Residents' rooms are really lovely and also kitted out to a high standard. Whilst it would have been preferable for my friend to stay at home it just wasn't possible due to her needing 24-hour care. We feel relieved to have found such a lovely place for her and peace of mind knowing that she is safe and very well cared for. Thanks a million to everyone at Whitefield House
Whitefield House has been and continues to be amazing for my dad who has dementia. He has been in Whitefield House over a year now, we have been constantly delighted with the standard of care. It is a care home in the true sense of the word. All the staff and carers are wonderful and care for Dad brilliantly every day. He is always super clean, even if I just pop in to see him. His room and all the communal areas are always spotless. We never wanted Dad to go in a home, but we were forced to put him in as respite as my mum, who was his primary carer, broke her hip. He settled so quickly and has been so happy there that he has stayed as Mum really couldn’t cope. One of the main carers even brought him to his granddaughter's wedding. They go over and above all the time. We love Dad so much and we are overwhelmed that we have found somewhere that cares for him so well. Nothing is too much trouble and we are forever grateful to all the staff.
After viewing some homes myself, my three sisters came across Whitefield House. As soon as we walked in we had a good feeling about it and we were right. Everything about this place is first class, the house itself (not at all clinical, really homely) the staff, carers, management, cleaners, everyone so friendly and hard working. Mum moved in a few months ago now and we visit a lot, always immaculately clean, smells clean and fresh, staff friendly and welcoming. Mum's room is really lovely and spacious too, food excellent (my mum is fussy too!) We were so worried about Mum going to a home at 88 years of age after us caring for her for a long time but honestly the best decision we ever made. Really a gem of a place, fabulous. Would not hesitate to recommend highly to anyone.
Our Dad spent two years in this care home before he passed away. Dad loved it and was very settled. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely home. Dad loved it when they put a show on and everyone had a good singalong. He loved happy times like people's Birthdays. Christmas time was good for all the residents. They all joined in the fun provided by the staff. They each got a gift and a lovely meal. Residents could sit on the front porch with a cup of tea or coffee and look at the lovely view of the local church. They would often sit in the back garden and listen to all the birds and look at the squirrels. Happy Days for all.
A bright clean care home set in a leafy residential area whilst close to excellent public transport and also has adequate visitor parking. Staff are friendly and attentive and aware of the different needs of individual residents and administer care appropriate to their needs. Staff treat residents with respect and are always polite and encouraging. On my frequent visits, I notice that residents are always clean and appropriately dressed. Catering is excellent with morning and afternoon tea breaks and supper served in addition to 3 meals a day. Attention has been given to interior design and decoration to provide a pleasant environment. A newly constructed garden with outside seating is put to great use in the warmer weather. Rooms are bright and have a lot of natural light including individual bedrooms. Overall, I would highly recommend this establishment.
Our mother has been a resident for two years, we have found the care she receives is fantastic. The staff are doing a great job under the pressure that we are all dealing with in today's difficulties. In my personal opinion, could not ask for my mother to be taken better care of, she's in the best home I reviewed for her, always caring.
Mum has been a resident at Whitefield House since May this year because she was getting frail and a bit confused and no longer able to care for herself at home. Before she moved in, she was very anxious all the time and not getting much enjoyment out of life. Moving to Whitefield House has changed this completely. Mum has relaxed and started to enjoy life. She now laughs all the time! There is a lovely relaxed and homely atmosphere at Whitefield House. I am always made to feel very welcome when I visit and nothing is too much trouble for anyone. Above all, Mum now feels safe and she has said this to me. I also benefit from this because I can relax and know that she is well cared for. The accommodation is homely and comfortable and facilities and cleanliness are all excellent. She loves the food and enjoys someone else doing the cooking. There have been some lovely activities too. Whitefield House gets a big yes from me and Mum!
My mum spent 6 weeks in respite at Whitefield House after leaving hospital. The care and support and kindness she received from all the staff was excellent. From the moment she arrived, she said she felt at home!
Mum was a resident at Whitefield House for a little over 4 years. She thought of Whitefield House as her second home and the staff as though they were extended family and friends. She was very happy and content there. I felt, as did all the family, that she was given excellent care and was always treated with dignity. The kitchen staff went out of their way to be helpful and to accommodate my mum's limited palate! Overall, I am so pleased we chose Whitefield House for Mum.
My Mum-in-law was a resident for over 3years at Whitefield House; she felt the staff were more like her friends as well as her carer. They always went the extra mile for her if she needed anything or just wanted someone to talk to. She always enjoyed the regular weekly activities. Sadly, my Mum-in-law passed away from COVID 19 in April, she was given professional, caring and constant care during this pandemic. We were kept up to date by the staff due to us not being able to visit. We have made many friends of the staff, and I would highly recommend Whitefield House for anyone who has a loved one needing 24hours care.
6 Years ago my relative decided to go to live at Whitefield House when she could no longer care for herself and her physical and mental health were deteriorating. In a very short time, she showed signs of improvement as she was cared for, and enjoyed social activities and eating together. Problems arose as she began to develop dementia, but at all times staff worked with her best interest at heart, treating her with politeness and dignity. I am very grateful for the loving care that she has received in her final years.
