View Full Details of Epworth GrangeThe care staff at this home are wonderful. They all show a caring attitude to my father. I am informed of any problems he is having and updated if anything extra is needed. They are approachable and answer any queries or questions I have. If he needs any extra care it is provided or they discuss with me the best way forward. If I don't understand their system or anything it is explained. I cannot fault the care given to my father here. They are always considering his mental and physical well-being. Fantastic!
I highly recommend Epworth Grange. My mother has settled in really well. The staff go above and beyond to keep her well and looked after.
My mum decided to move to Epworth Grange after a fall at home impacted her mobility and confidence. Her choice was based on good reports from friends. Whilst it has been a momentous move for someone who valued her independence so highly, she has started to settle. This is largely due to the truly caring staff and the well run efficiency of Epworth Grange. She appreciates the activities though wishes there was more at weekends. Her family and friends visit frequently and can see that she is safe and well looked after.
The care home has been phenomenal and has cared for my Grandma. They put her first and ensure that she is fed, clean and safe. At no point have I or my family been unhappy with the performance and support offered by the home. I would recommend this care home to anyone who needs a place for Alzheimer's patients. I am so happy that my Grandma is there and being looked after by the wonderful staff and team. The security and support offered have improved my mental health and anxiety around my grandma due to how much support is offered.
My friend moved into Epworth Grange about 9 months ago. The transfer went smoothly and he settled in quickly. I visit weekly and my friend seems very happy there. The staff are always helpful and the home appears neat and tidy when I visit.
A miserable, dour atmosphere with miserable, dour carers (with a few exceptions). No friendly hellos or goodbyes when you enter the building. One day when I called unexpectedly I found my relative still in bed at 11.30am with no food or drink and by 1.15 I had to go out to buy some. A carton of opened fruit juice was left by the chair for 7 days, items were left out of my relative's reach. Left without glasses or teeth. Left slumped like a sack of flour in their chair, commode seat left dirty one day and used toilet paper in it. Also I felt some of my concerns were ignored, ie. constantly leaving chocolate biscuits in room when people had been told five times please don't give chocolate. Maybe if your relative is immobile and needs more time spent with them and compassion shown then give this place a miss. My only regret is ever leaving my relative in this place. They are now in a different care home and the difference between them is like night and day.
My Mum went into Epworth Grange after a fall. However, she did find it very difficult to settle at first but the staff was very supportive, not only to her but also to myself, as my Mum had been living with my husband and me before transitioning to E.G. The Chaplain there, was so helpful to us and Mum become happier and settled in making friends.
Choosing the right home for your relative is a stressful and very emotional experience. However, within minutes of meeting the team at Epworth Grange many of our fears and anxieties were soothed and from day 1 of moving in they have done nothing but exceed expectations. You're cared for as a family not just the resident. Nothing was too much trouble on moving-in day. The things you don't know about are the volunteer readers who sit in the room, the compassion that you hear from the team when providing care (even when they don't know you're there), the changes they make to meals to reduce stress at mealtimes, the comforter dolls and the staff who take the time to keep someone company when they can. The home is always clean, and brews and snacks are plentiful. The 2 resident cats give an extra homely feel.
My mother has lived at Epworth Grange for the past 18 months. Her is probably a familiar story. Living alone at home, an accident, hospital, an intermediate care facility; and then acknowledgement that home was no longer a safe option. We did our research and after a visit, decided that Epworth Grange was the most suitable option. We have never regretted this decision. My mother has been shown nothing but kindness and consideration from day one. The entire staff, including management, are approachable, patient and good humoured. The public areas of the home are always clean and uncluttered and her room is cleaned on a regular basis.
Epworth Grange is a very special place. My father-in-law spent his last six months there. His favourite expression was: “It’s a care home and that’s what they do: care”. So, when my husband’s health took a turn for the worse, we had no hesitation in placing him with Epworth Grange. His surroundings are warm, clean, and secure and he enjoys the food. He has experienced an exceptional degree of care. His carers engage with him – even sing to him and encourage him to join in! The ethos (as you would expect from MHA) is one of overriding compassion and support: nothing is too much trouble. A pastor is on hand should the residents wish to speak to her, and they are all encouraged to join in all the activities on offer. Ownership is encouraged: the residents are invited to express their opinions on the activities and meals both informally, and formally through a residents’ forum. Management responds immediately to relatives, enquiries, and questions, and in response to events in the home.
The care and love shown to my mum for the six and a half years she has been a resident has been exemplary. I will be forever grateful to all the staff who made her last years comfortable and secure. I would have no reservations in recommending Epworth Grange as a care home for their loved ones.
The care and compassion shown to my mother while she has been unwell for several weeks has been outstanding. The staff have shown such patience, care and understanding not only to Mum but to us as well. It is so reassuring knowing Mum is so well looked after.
Our aunt has been living at Epworth Grange for a couple of years now and we cannot praise the care, management and dedication of the staff enough. She was made to feel welcome from day one, which was such a great achievement and relief to us (as we are located 200 miles away from her home). We could not wish for any better care, compassion and understanding for our aunt.
Everyone at Epworth Grange have gone above and beyond to welcome my mum and help her to feel settled and safe. The kindness she is shown is constant and obviously comes from genuine care and compassion- qualities that you hope for when you are choosing a suitable care home for your very vulnerable loved one. The place is beautiful and clean and the facilities are amazing. I could not wish for better care for my mum.
My uncle settled in almost immediately. The staff are absolutely brilliant, nothing is too much trouble. They have managed to sort things out for my uncle in a very short time which I have been trying to organise for years. I really could not have placed him anywhere better. He is 95 years old. I have recommended the home to many people. I would have no objections going in there myself if and when due.
I was very upset at having to put my father into care as he had always been able to look after himself up until the last three years. The staff at Epworth Grange are absolutely wonderful and nothing is too much trouble for them to do. As a very private man, my dad is never asked to do anything he feels uncomfortable with. He compares Epworth with being a 5-star hotel and I couldn't agree more! Keep up the good work!
I have been visiting my friend since before covid and I am so pleased to be back to regular visiting. The staff have done an amazing job through this difficult time and have continued to care for residents in a highly individualised way - nothing is too much trouble and an air of friendly efficiency and kindly respect permeates the home. Thank you for being so consistent and focused on doing the very best for residents.
My mum came to Epworth Grange in late March and we were both very apprehensive about this huge change. After Mum being so independent for so long it is taking time for her to adapt but staff have worked hard to ease the transition. Both my mum and myself have been shown nothing but kindness by all staff and I am happy in the knowledge that she is safe and well cared for 24 hours a day. Nothing is too much and staff are there to care for the residents and support relatives. Epworth Grange is a happy, clean, modern, and well-planned home that gives residents the opportunity to be independent or socialise as the mood takes. I feel sure that the care that my mum now receives will give her a new lease of life and want to take this opportunity to thank all staff for their kindness and for giving my mum such a high quality of care.
I have lived here for a few months and have everything. I have made friends. Meals are lovely.
