View Full Details of Half Acre House Care HomeThe staff at Half Acre House Care Home have been so very welcoming and caring, settling our mum into the home. They have made a difficult and stressful time for the family as calm and smooth as possible. Half Acre has a strong sense of community and home. A big thank you to all the staff at Half Acre.
Since my mum arrived at Half Acre House Care Home in November, she has settled amazingly. She is like a different woman. I don't think in all my time as a carer of 40 years, have I ever met a more dedicated bunch of staff. They are all kind, honest and extremely friendly. After I visit I can go home and rest knowing my mum is in safe hands. Half Acre, 100% amazing.
I think the home is lovely, so clean and so tidy. Looks more like a hotel than a nursing home. The staff are so welcoming, so helpful and care so much about the people they care for and their families, staff always have smiles on there faces and love their jobs. I would recommend this care home to anyone who needs it. Absolutely brilliant place, there are always things to entertain the residents. An absolutely a stunning home.
I never wanted my husband to go into residential care, but due to my health issues, he was taken into Half Acre on emergency respite. I was immediately taken by the layout of the home. My husband is a wanderer and because there are not lots of corridors he doesn't get lost which would lead to him becoming frightened and upset. We did experience some issues with my husband at the beginning but the manager was so kind and understanding and sorted everything out for us. All the staff are wonderful, myself and my family are always greeted with a smile and a kind word. I know I made the right decision agreeing to make his stay permanent and I found the perfect place in Half Acre. I cannot speak highly enough of the home or staff.
This is an outstanding care home! My Mum and Mother-in-Law are both residents. Attended the Valentine's Party last night. What a beautiful, happy environment. Credit to the home manager and all her staff - who are such caring and amazing people. My mother-in-law danced to her heart's content, my mum enjoyed singing and eating the lovely food. Feel very lucky to be part of this special group! Look forward to my weekly visits, always welcomed with open arms. Outstanding!
The staff are very helpful and give time to the residents and are good at their job.
My mother-in-law attended a party with a DJ and she hasn't stopped talking about it ever since she even got to dance which hadn't done in a long time. The staff are so friendly and helpful and her room is so homely can't fault any of it.
My mum went into Half Acre House on the 21st of August and from the 1st day she was made to feel very welcome. The staff are always on hand to answer any questions or concerns you may have. The rooms are very homely and beautifully decorated. Good choice of food at all meal times. Always activities going on, always music playing which my mum enjoys. Can't fault the home in any way.
My mum was admitted into Half Acre House Care Home and has been there for a few weeks now. When my mum was at home she was self-neglected in every way she was confused to the point where we were about to question her capacity. Mum had carers going in regularly but this did not stop her from being on the setee for 3 days and 3 nights unwashed and very depressed Within days my mum has been transformed with not just the TLC she deserves but with staff that show her love and compassion she is now immaculate mentally stimulated loved and very very bright as she is receiving the care she deserves and being fed nurtured and sometimes coaxed to not take to her bed all day. She is given choices and is not judged and I myself can not praise the staff enough and owe them big time as after a very long time I have my mum back proud strong and beautiful and I have a fantastic relationship with her. Thank you guys and girls you really are an amazing team!
What makes this building a home (in the personal sense) is the staff. They are professional, caring, knowledgeable, treat every resident as an individual and with respect. It was very hard to place my mum in care, the staff have made transition as easy as it could be for everyone.
The staff are extremely helpful.
The staff are always warm and friendly to both residents and visitors. Staff are very caring ensuring residents are well cared for to the best of the staff's ability. The bedroom especially the ensuite is a little outdated and could do with a refurbishment. The communal resident's toilet is also in need of a refurbishment though the staff do cope with the facilities/equipment that is available to them. My relative is very happy in the home and is very content with living here.
I have nothing but praise for Half Acre House Care Home. The care of the staff was very good with a lot of care for residents' dignity. I was also very pleased with how they kept me informed as to anything that my sister-in-law needed or any outside care e.g. hospital or doctor care that was needed. They went out of their way to please her with her food requirements.
My mum came to the care home for respite care after breaking her leg. The care was of a very good standard and tailored to my mum's needs. Realising that my mum needed full-time care she decided to become a permanent resident. My mum loves the food and often asks for seconds, she feels safe and also knows that the staff will do all they can to keep her comfortable. The home is a safe, clean, caring environment and the staff are a credit to themselves as they often go beyond the call of duty.
Since meeting all the staff, I have found them great. They can't do enough and helped me loads to settle my aunty. The home is lovely, clean and an overall great place with friendly staff. I would highly recommend.
After a multitude of illnesses, it was decided Mum needed extra care that we couldn't provide as a family. Without the excellent staff and service provided at Half Acre House, I do honestly believe Mum would possibly not be with us today. She has constant attention now as and when she needs it, food available when she is hungry, if not a set meal time and staff are always there to help. No task is too small and they are always there to answer any questions we may have. Always a smile and a friendly chat when we arrive and haven't, at any point when we have been at the home, seen or heard any of the staff complaining or not looking as if they don't want to be there. That goes a long way as a relative to know not only my Mum-in-law is so well cared for but other residents too.
As we are coming to the end of 2022, another difficult year for everyone and the fourth year my mum has been a resident at Half Acre, Radcliffe. I cannot express my gratitude to the wonderful manager and all the staff who care for my beautiful Mum. Four years ago we never envisaged my mum would still be a resident. She had no interest, her dementia was getting worse and she was losing weight, but today she is happy and constantly singing. Her face lights up when she is with the staff and fellow patients and she does interact with them. She walks miles around the home each day and she has a constant smile on her face. The manager, is always there for me, bright and cheerful as always and she is very supportive when I need it. I am forever grateful to each and everyone one of the staff and I feel at home when I visit. Here's hoping 2023 will be another beautiful year for my mum and all the amazing staff. Thank you.
My brother and I are so pleased with the care our Mum is getting at Half Acre. The staff are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble, they have a great sense of humour and they work very hard to make sure all residents are well looked after. There is always a nice atmosphere when we visit and Mum is happy and relaxed, eating well and regularly joins in with the various activities provided. Thank you so much to everyone at Half Acre, you are doing a great job!
Although my husband has only been resident at Half Acre House Care Home for a couple of weeks we have found it to be a bright, cheerful place and all the staff have been friendly, caring and helpful.
I was a bit dubious about Dad going into a care home, I needn’t have worried, the staff are fantastic. Dad settled in really well and has even started interacting with other people. It’s been a pleasure to know all of them.
