A close family friend was a resident in Abbey Hey Care Home from 30th March 2021 until her passing on 6th January 2025. I cannot thank ALL THE STAFF enough. I would not have any issues recommending Abbey Hey Care Home to anyone and I hope that they carry on the great work they do in a very challenging environment.
My wife is cared for well and the staff is very good and kept well informed.
Abbey Hey Care Home is a wonderful place to go and visit my mother. The staff are very pleasant and helpful, so pleased to hear the staff are pleasant and wonderful people.
The staff are lovely and caring, I feel my mum is happy and well cared for.
My wife has been in care for 2.5 years, during that time she has received excellent care. The staff have been very caring and extremely patient and understanding. The care that my wife has received in my opinion could not be bettered.
The staff at Abby Hey Care Home are amazing, nothing is too much trouble for them. They go the extra mile not only with the residents but with families too. I cannot thank them enough for all they have done for my mum. The entertainment at Xmas was lovely and enjoyed by Mum, residents even received a gift from the home.
To the manager, staff and everyone connected to Abbey Hey, you are a wonderful care home and take great care of all the residents. The staff are always so friendly and helpful and my sister is very happy here. In these uncertain times, you have done a truly tremendous job keeping everyone safe and well, so from a very grateful family, we say thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
My mum was a resident in Abbey Hey for nearly 4 years before she passed away in February 2020, mum was happy at Abbey Hey, joined in the activities, especially enjoyed anything musical. The standard of care was very good, the staff knew mum, would know if she was unwell, all her needs were met. The care she received at her end of life was fantastic. The staff and the residents became part of our extended family.
My dear Dad has been in Abbey Hey for 3 years. His cognition, brain function, coordination and ability to self-help has been extremely impaired due to vascular dementia. I spend a lot of time visiting Dad at Abbey Hey and although he is in his own world, myself and my family agree that he has been peaceful and content in the comfortable environment he lives in. All the staff communicate effectively with myself and others who visit and adhere to his needs. They have been unbelievably sup[portive and caring to Dad. We feel blessed to have such a high level of care for him.
It has taken several months for me to adapt to seeing my husband living in a care home. He has always been well looked after and I am now seeing the home as his home. The staff really care about all the residents and I am so happy (perhaps not the right word) that I found Abbey Hey.
I am very pleased for my mother to be at this care home she is well looked after and is happy. When visiting they made me feel very welcome and friendly. I worked here many years ago, it was good the, now they have made a lot of improvements and the home is better still. All the staff are very caring, have good meals and activities. My mum gets rather outspoken when she is tired, the staff are very patient with her, she soon calms down. I am happy she is there.
The care mum receives at Abbey Hey has been brilliant! Mum has advanced Alzheimer's and can do little for herself. All the team at Abbey Hey demonstrate excellent care for mum on all levels; with warm welcoming smiles from staff and management of her personal health and hygiene needs being met, whilst maintaining her dignity. The atmosphere is relaxed, happy and homely, there's compassion, affection with lots of 'giggles' thrown in, this is great for mum's self-esteem and well-being. Over the last year, not only has the manager and all the staff cared for mum, but have also supported me, with help and advice with regards to dementia and mum's general health, this has reassured me on many occasions. Staff always show a willingness to help, with the manager on occasions going 'above and beyond' to accommodate mine and mum's needs. On the whole, both for mum and myself, Abbey Hey has been our 'life line' and has become our 'extended home', with the manager and her team being our 'extended family'. Thank you.
The care my father receives from all members of staff is excellent. Since arriving at Abbey Hey, he has become more relaxed and has settled into his new environment very well. Due to the quality of food provided, he has gained weight and always looks forward to mealtimes.
